Mel is fantastic! I have only been taking lessons with him for a short time, but I feel like I have really made a lot of improvement! He is extremely patient and really cares about music. You can truly tell he puts his all into his lessons and truly cares about his students. Music is his passion and his optimism and love for music is contagious.

David enjoys teaching students from all different backgrounds and levels of proficiency. Whether you are just starting out or a virtuoso shredder in the making, he is happy to teach you! Over all, he is fairly laid back, as long as you practice. He usually combines work with reading off of the treble clef (what he likens to "eating your vegetables." You may not want to do it, but it will make you a healthier musician!) with learning more popular songs (or songs the student says they would like to learn) through tablature and chord charts, depending on the style of the song.

David is also very pro music theory. He usually incorporates music theory into the curriculum in conjunction with the material already being discussed. He is also very knowledgeable about composition/songwriting, and if the student is interested in learning more about this area, he is happy to share what he knows!

About David

David is a successful singer/songwriter/guitarist out of Fairfax, VA. He has a bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in composition from Salisbury University, where he also studied jazz and classical guitar . In the 25 years he has been performing (20 of those professionally) and playing

Great instructor with a lot of knowledge on teaching bass guitar... on time with every lesson and flexible at rescheduling classes when needed.
Phoebe
I highly recommend Josh to anyone who wants to begin or improve their bass skills. He has so much passion and knowledge to share, and he does so in a way that makes you feel entirely at ease. The way he explains music theory and playing techniques/exercises makes things so simple to understand and work with, even as a total beginner. Knowledge and proficiency aside, he's also a joy to learn from and talk to! Every time I have a lesson I feel more inspired and motivated than before. My only complaint is I wasn't learning from him sooner!
Ken
Josh is exceptional in playing bass guitar. His overall demeanor and musical prowess, coupled with his enthusiasm of constantly expanding his abilities, only adds to his reputation of being an excellent teacher. I highly recommend him!

"After my first lesson I can see Eric is ready , willing and quite capable of taking on the challenge to work with me as an adult beginner on the instrument. He took the time to really get a good idea of where my skill level currently is and gave clear instruction on exercises to use in order to build from there. Furthermore, he gives a clear picture of the path the instruction will follow in order to get to the level of playing that I want to achieve.
Eric's personality combined with the spacious home studio setting provides a comfortable atmosphere of learning without distractions.
Not only do I feel Eric will be a good instructor for me but, I will also be scheduling my daughter for lessons with him to learn her third instrument, the guitar. So yes, I do recommend him for lessons!"

He's patient and understanding, but he'll make sure you understand the music thoroughly. He showed me that music was more than an art form, it's a lens you see the world through. I can't recommend Charlie enough, no matter where you are on your musical journey, he'll take you to the next level."

I started meeting with Kevin once a week and he knew how to break down the songs to help me learn them. He started teaching me the theory behind bass guitar and my scales. Fast forward a year later, I’m not confident enough to play in a band! I can’t thank Kevin enough for everything he’s done through our lessons. I always mention him when people ask me how I improved so much. Thank you Kevin!"
