Anna is adept at teaching adults. My wife and I are in our late twenties with no music background at all, and she has done a great job at both introducing the theory behind the music and keeping the lessons simple enough to progress and enjoy. It is an even greater testament to her skill that she is able to teach in this way in a completely online format. Anna knows how to get the most out of her students and is extremely passionate about helping them improve, even contacting them outside of lesson time to check on their progress. We would recommend Anna to anyone!

We arrived to Anna after my son took piano lessons elsewhere with little progress. My son is interested in music, but lacked the confidence to push through skills he found challenging. This has changed under Anna’s direction, and our son is making excellent progress. We find Anna to be extremely knowledgeable and competent, and her passion for piano shows. Anna is patient and gentle, but she will undoubtedly push your child to do their best. She will get to know your child to determine their interests and work with them to achieve their goals. Highly recommended!

I have taken lessons with Anna since I was seven years old (currently age 18). I began knowing nothing about the piano or music theory. Neither of my parents can play the piano. I was a beginner in every sense of the word. Now, I have not only a deep love and appreciation for music, but also an advanced musical capacity and repertoire. I have played pieces from a variety of styles and time periods, from Claude Debussy to Mozart to Hadyn to jazz and contemporary. I was able to have a personal high school senior recital and share this love and talent with others. In high school, I completed a music theory and composition course with ease.

I cannot recommend Anna enough. Her dedication and patience is unparalleled and she cares so deeply for her students. She is methodical, attentive, thoughtful, and is an absolute hidden gem of a teacher. Anna opened a world of music to me and I don’t think I can ever truly express how much that means to me. Not only am I a better musician because of her, but I’m also a better person. Her attention to detail and passion have challenged the way that I approach work and hobbies beyond just music.

Anna is particularly skilled as an educator. Beyond simply giving information for students to practice or memorize, she helps them apply the concepts to real musical pieces, guiding them along the way. Her calm but advanced method of teaching helps students advance quickly through musical concepts.

Over the past eleven years, I have spent literally hundreds of hours with Anna honing my craft. If anyone has seen the extent of her talent as a teacher, I’d like to think it’s me.

Five stars out of five stars. Always.

Hello! I've been teaching violin and piano for 10+ years to students of all ages. I love helping beginners learn about the fun world of music, and helping intermediate/advanced students hone their skills.

I have a minor in music from Brigham Young University. I love to have students try music from different styles, and also teach basic music theory and ear training skills.

I am very patient, and like to pay close attention to see what works best for each individual student. If a student is interested, they can participate in my periodic recitals (currently online) for performance opportunities. I also encourage my students to take advantage of local piano contests, and to see live piano performances.
I offer in person or video lessons, whichever you prefer.

The way I teach, a student can be playing songs very quickly, even while working on basic skills and learning how to read music. I love opening up the world of the keyboard and how to match it to what you see on the ...

My name is Ghislain, I am 28 years and have a Master in Dance Performance from the Conservatory of music and dance of Paris. I am also French and arrived in September 2017 with a full scholarship to study dance at UCLA.

I have studied piano for 10 years at the Conservatoire de Nice (South France), have the experience of teaching private lessons in France and am seeking piano students of every level and age. The past year, I have taught 15 beginners from the age of 5 to 60+ in Paris and had so much fun doing it. I can also teach for adults with a intermediate or advanced level.

With beginners, I tend to put my focus on teaching fundamental notions such as being able to read music notes and understanding rhythm; two elements that are essential to be able to play the piano. And within a few weeks, I can make anyone play piano following a music score !

I focus heavily on technique at first, usually for the first 2-4 months. At that point, depending on the student we work on either sight reading or improvisation.

About James

I'm currently a professor at EMMAT, a member school of the Berklee International Network. I have over a quarter-century experience teaching people of all backgrounds and styles. If you’re serious about learning to play piano and willing to put in the work, I honestly cannot think of a better instructor than James. His teaching methodology is creative, fun, yet challenging catapulting students to higher proficiency levels than typically possible with more traditional teaching methods. My 11 year old learning from James is quickly surpassing other kids with many more years of lessons studying other dated, traditional approaches.

James has played for some well known professional acts during his career in multiple music genres (including a presidencial election ceremony)...point being he’s been on the big stage and has reached a level most only dream about. Yet he continues to follow his true passion which is helping others learn and reach their own individual musical aspirations.

In short, James is your guy...look no further.

James has a terrific approach to teaching that my seven year old daughter responded to with enthusiasm and excitement. She learned a lot more than I thought she could in just her first lesson. We’re looking forward to next week!

Joe teaches classical and jazz piano with composition and improvisation which allows students to have fun from the start. Joe has taught over 6 years, with a variety of ages, all the way from kids to senior adults.

My approach combines knowledge of composition and music theory with skills at the keyboard. My unique approach includes learning by ear not just from the page, improvising from the beginning, etc. and other experiential exercises.

Joe has studied popular teaching techniques like Suzuki and Bastien, but also informs students about the way famous pianists of the past, like Chopin, Liszt, and Brahms would approach the instrument.

Joe moved to Nashville in 2015 where he got into the gritty details of less traditionally taught sub-genres of music like rock, funk, R&B, pop. He took a course in piano pedagogy in college which explored how to meet the individual needs of developing musicians. He is a product of Belmont University School of Music, earning a degree in ...

Why Learning Piano Theory is Important for All Musicians

Struggling to understand music theory? Try heading over to the piano -- seeing a visual representation can help a ton! Here, Lowell, IN teacher Blake C. shares how to get started...   Many musicians avoid learning music theory altogether because it can feel much like learning a foreign language; as a result, many musicians enlist in the anti-music theory organization. I will admit it – I was a member of the anti-music theory organization in my early years, declaring that music theory …
