About Lindsay
Online lessons are also available at 30 and 45 minute durations please call takelessons to book. In home and in studio classes are a 1 hour minimum.

Hey there! My name is Lindsay. I truly enjoy teaching everything in the realm of physical activity. I grew up dancing at Mark Spivaks Institute in Jacksonville, Florida. I studied under a Russian Prima ballerina. I played soccer. I swam. My lifestyle at a young age has reflected in my work as an adult. Nowadays I love yoga, hiking, running, art, and being a big sister! If I have one goal in my professional life it would be to inspire active living in today's youth. I completed my 450 hour pilates certification which compliments my teachings in every field due to the anatomical approach. Currently I work as a dance teacher, pilates instructor, yoga teacher and flexibility coach. My passi
on for movement will inspire you to achieve your goals. I love to make any positive difference to a client: in their day, in their body, in their outlook. I’m an eager student, so I’m constantly teaching new stuff I’ve recently learned. I look forward to meeting you and reaching the finish line- whatever that may be!

I am enthusiastic about teaching online lessons as well. I find that online training works amazingly well, and is extremely convenient for people with busy schedules.

For Dance - Lindsay teaches ballet, social club, and basic hip hop and tap

Dancing since the age of 3, I'd love to spark the passion of dance in anyone that's interested! With a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a concentration in Ballet Pedagogy (the art or science of teaching) this is what I've trained to do.

I specialize in Ballet, Modern and Jazz ages 5-18 beginner to advanced students. I focus on strong foundations in technique and musicality. I am also comfortable choreographing solo work for auditions.

About Sara
Hello! I'm Sara!

I started dancing at the age of 3. I am well versed in Ballet, Modern and Jazz. I attended Joffrey San Antonio (2004) and Paul Taylor New York (2010) intensives.

While in high school I taught Ballet, Jazz, Pre-Pointe and Pointe classes to dancers age 3-14.

In 2011 I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Pedagogy (which is the art or science of teaching).

Since moving to NYC 5 years ago I have been focused on performing with such dance companies as Exit 12 Dance Company (2011-2012) and Community Dance Project (2013-2014). While not dancing with specific companies I have choreographed and danced in two music videos.

I can't express my love for teaching enough! To know that I could help spark the passion of dance in a young person is extremely inspiring.

Please inc
lude your area and availability in your messages!

I would prefer to teach students with professional or aerobic goals. Social dancing is not one of my subjects.

About Carissa
Hi! I'm Carissa, a working actor and playwright, and would love to work with you on your craft! I grew up heavily immersed in the arts from a young age. About Chrystie
WELCOME DANCERS!

Meet your dance instructor. I have my bachelors degree from Chapman University in Theatre & Dance. My training includes Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Folk Dance, Dance History, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Improv, and Kinesiology, among other dance-related subjects.

I grew up in a small Illinois town. Lessons were few and far between, so I would copy dancing off of movies and videos in order to perform at local dances, or for other community events. As a youth, I took country line dancing classes. Always drawn to anything involving dance and movement, I auditioned and performed with a Disney Showcase Troupe. By high school, I was choreographing for the Show Choir, as well as, performing in theatrical productions, including the musical “The Wizard of Oz”.

Before graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Theatre & Danc
e from Chapman University in Orange, California, I continued my study of many dance styles & techniques such as: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Ballroom, Dunham Technique, yoga/stretch, Dance Business & History. From 1996-2001 I performed a variety of dancing and singing roles in showcases and events such as “American Celebration” and “The Story of Rock n’ Roll”. While studying at Chapman, I accepted a position as historian, and eventually, vice president of the performing arts society (PASC).

When I wasn’t onstage, I could be found backstage working lights, sound, costuming, or stage management. I searched out other educational opportunities at Cypress College and the Taggart International School where I studied West African dance and Russian Ballet Technique. After performing a liturgical dance performance for my graduation ceremony, I toured the United States and a portion of Canada, researching dance around the world. This eventually led me to Jacmel, Haiti, where I studied cultural and social dances of the local people. After that I took up Bellydance and studied folk dancing in Chicago, Illinois.

Since 2001, I have taught classes for all ages from infants to adults. I have also studied child development and have a special love for bringing an adoration of the arts to the youngest artists in our communities. It is imperative that all my teachings highlight body positivity and the belief that everyone can dance. A life-long learner and dance aficionado, I continue my dance studies in Ballroom, Baroque Dance, and Scottish Country Dance. My influences include Isadora Duncan, Katherine Dunham, Sean Greene & Misty Copeland. I love being a part of the DA Dance Family.

It came to me again - that feeling that I could do anything. I know that's an exaggeration, but feelings of personal accomplishment lend a lot to taking future risks. Our dance team was under Tom's tutelage for four hours broken into two sessions and I was changed. He had persistence yet patience. He somehow gave everything enough attention, but kept us moving forward to use our time together the most wisely. He adapted to our unique and unusual dynamic and group personality, adopting our language while he taught us his.

My private lesson with him was special too. I remember feeling a bit vulnerable and self conscious in the first few minutes, wondering how we would connect on how to help me. I was put at ease as he listened to my thoughts, partnered with me in a quick exploratory dance, took the reins, and led me through an educational sixty minutes. I liked the way he made the specifics he was conveying accessible through brief relatable personal examples. I've had many people speak to me about frame, but the way he approached it and me was the way that has me doing better (I think!) I found Tom to be incredibly professional, personable, respectful and helpful.
I would certainly benefit from more time in his care.

About Laura
Some people might look at me and think that I am too young or don't have enough experience to provide them with good quality work.

I may look 12, but I have much to offer and a deep desire to learn from my students as well. I believe that learning from another person is the most efficient and fun way to do so.

I work as an independant professional dancer based in Quebec, Canada, and have been teaching dance for 6 years! I have taught to people from the age of 7 up to around 40 years old, so I have lots of experience with interacting with all ages!

As much as traditional methods have proven to be effective, I believe that there is no universal way to teach. Every student is different as should be the lesson.

like to push people to step out of their comfort zones while still being comfortable with the challenge.

I have lots of free time since i am an independant worker, so my schedule is very flexible and I will take the time required to do the necessary research in order to provide the best service.

I am bilingual in french and english, so communication should be easy!
