Daniela was great at helping my daughter feel more comfortable during her first lesson. She was very knowledgeable and gave really good advice to take home and work on.
Vidita S.
Daniela was very patient with my child. My daughter was a little nervous but Daniela made her comfortable and boosted her confidence.

Daniela is wonderful and our lessons are always fun. She lets me play pieces that I enjoy plus introduces me to new music that she believes I will also enjoy. She allows me to play freely but will correct my mistakes (wrong fingering :). But this only make me a better player and learning a new piece easier. As an adult learner I cannot say enough good things about her and her style. I really enjoy my lessons with her and I highly recommend her.

Private Classical Piano Teacher

I started playing piano at age seven when my mother enrolled me in lessons. I have been playing ever since, and I absolutely love it. I began teaching private piano lessons in 2003, and have taught many thousands of lessons since that time. I have experience accompanying choirs, instrumentalists, and vocalists, as well as playing as a soloist in various piano competitions and recitals.

In my piano lessons I use the Faber's fabulous Piano Adventures series. In my opinion, they are the best books on the market, emphasizing reading by intervals as opposed to memorizing note names. This method minimizes student frustration while also decreasing the amount of time it takes a student to read a new song. Piano Adventures also focuses on developing sight reading and ear training skills, something most developing musicians don't study until college-level music courses.

I prefer to introduce students to the great composers as early as possible, starting with short etudes and then ...

Angela is the most inspiring teacher I've ever had. Aside from having played the violin for a year prior, I was a complete adult beginner on piano. My passion is Baroque-era keyboard works, and Angela immediately got me started on Bach Prelude No. 2 from 12 Little Preludes. Within 12 lessons, I was able to play the entire piece with ease. Before starting with Angela, If you would have told me that in under 12 weeks I'd be playing Bach, I'd have called you crazy. Angela's strong suit is that she is confident that you can play any piece you put your mind to, regardless of experience, while inspiring and motivating you to do so.

Aside from technique, each lesson was equivalent to a college course in music theory. She understands that technique is only half of playing an instrument and the importance of knowing the reason each note falls where it does. This may sound overwhelming, but Angela never gives you more than you can handle, while challenging you to improve at a rapid pace. It was an extremely gratifying experience and I am thrilled at the progress that I made in under a year.

She is flexible and knowledgeable and is able to adapt and work with my girls who each have very different learning styles and personalities. Both girls are excited for their lessons each week. My son began taking piano lessons from Heather during High School. It looked like so much fun that I eventually asked her to teach me as well. Heather is a pleasant and patient teacher. She has a depth of knowledge and an ability to teach music that motivated both my son and me to practice in order to play our pieces well. Those times are good memories that I won’t forget.

Hi! My name is Andrew and I have been playing classical piano for 14 years. In this time, I have had the honor of performing with symphony orchestras; qualifying for international competitions; and learning from wonderful teachers who fostered my love for classical music. While in high school, I studied at the Colburn Music Academy, a pre-college program in Los Angeles where I took lessons in piano, music theory, music history, and presentational skills. I also taught piano to students from beginning to advanced levels. Currently, I attend Pomona College, a liberal arts college in Southern California, where I continue to study piano and other subjects.

My goal in teaching piano is to introduce others to piano, encourage them to love music, and give them the tools to help express themselves through the piano. I believe in patience and respecting my students, and I will always give constructive feedback.

Aside from piano, I teach music theory from the basics to more advanced, AP and ...

"Tamara is a very highly qualified, and extremely capable musician and instructor. While away on a leave from my position as music director at a local church, Tamara planned and provided the music for services, and led the congregation's music programs in my absence. While I was away, it was a great comfort to know that Tamara provided quality music for each service. In addition to demonstrating an extraordinary level of musicianship, Tamara is a dependable, and dedicated professional. I am pleased to provide my strongest recommendation!"

"I am honored to finally write a review for Maria!

Having already been a musician for a decade on various other instruments, I was looking for a teacher that could help me learn technique for piano. I found Maria on this website and have never had a better private teacher.

She quickly adapted to my experience level, gave constant feedback, called me on my mistakes (in the nicest way possible) and encouraged me to succeed.

I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to learn piano, regardless of your musical background. She is a wonderful, kind, incredibly knowledgeable teacher and is a very welcoming and encouraging person. I am so glad to have had her as my teacher."

I appreciate his explanations regarding why a specific exercise/approach is important. So far I’ve been following all his advice and my wrist pain, sight reading, and musicality are improving. I know I’m in good hands and look forward absorbing more knowledge.

"Stan has been a wonderful teacher for our young boy who started at 4 and continues to this day. Stan uses a wide range of music styles and arranges them for children. This allows my son not to get bogged down, bored, or resistant to playing. We have to drive an hour for these lessons, but our son refuses to change teachers. There is the option of expanding into guitar, voice, composition, etc."
