Most recently, my drumming can be heard on multi-platinum selling recording artist Mark Slaughter's solo CD, "Reflections in a Rear View Mirror" which was released in March of this year. In additional to acoustic drumming, I have extensive experience with:
- midi programming (Toontrack Superior Drummer)
- drum set recording (Pro Tools, Cubase, Reaper)

On time, very professional, amazing skill-set and very patient with my child. We feel fortunate to have Mark as an instructor.

Mark rocks!

Mark’s incredible skill as a drummer is only matched by his abilities as a teacher. In just a short time with Mark’s instruction, I have made vast improvements in my drumming. At my first lesson with Mark, he determined my skill level and what I sought to achieve with my lessons. Almost immediately, the fundamentals Mark showed me were translating into my drumming with my band. Mark has opened doors in my playing that I didn’t know existed. Mark is incredibly patient and really cares about ensuring I receive significant benefit from my lessons. Mark really goes out of his way to make sure I fully grasp everything he shows me. I would highly recommend Mark for anyone who wants to learn from a true master at his craft and from a teacher who takes pride in his students and his teaching. Thank you Mark!!

Mark Review

I have had many different types of music teachers through out my life and Mark is by far the best. He is very serious about helping his students do what they want to do. I had specific goals I wanted to accomplish. Mark took my goals seriously and did what he could to help me understand the techniques to be a good drummer. He broke things down in to little steps that helped me to practice on my own and figure specific drum patterns out, He gave me the tools to improve myself as a musician, Mark did not have to but he chose to put a lot of his own time in to teaching me what I wanted to learn He obviously cares about his students and takes them seriously. I highly recommend him to any future students

I have my Master of Music in Music Theory and Composition from New York University, and I love teaching theory! Music Theory can be taught within an instrumental lesson (voice and piano) or in a lesson by itself. If you've never liked it or been able to grasp it before, it's time to change that!

Beginners will master fundamentals such as note-reading, keys, time-signature, rhythms, intervals, scales, chords, and harmonic progressions. Intermediate to Advanced students will build on these skills and learn part-writing and score analysis (both tonal and atonal). Private lessons are an excellent compliment to music theory classes taught in schools, especially for any student who needs outside tutoring.

About Natalie

Natalie is a NYU and BMI Workshop trained composer of songs, musicals, and concert music who has helped many songwriters find their voice and fine-tune their skills. She is particularly adept at identifying what is keeping a song from working (whether it be music, lyrics or both) and helping writer

I have been with Alyssa for almost a year now. I have progressed so far. The classes are always fun and I feel like I gain something every time we meet. Though I am a ways from being proficient, I am quite pleased with the speed in which I am progressing. I am glad to have Aylssa as my instructor.
William
My first lesson was very good. She took the time to explain and we progressed at a good pace. She explained things and showed me proper techniques to hold the violin and the bow. Overall the lesson was fun and exciting.

I started working with Alyssa in person when she was teaching violin in Salt Lake City. Once she moved to Los Angeles I agreed to try the online lessons. I have found this method of learning to be very valuable. Alyssa has a unique way of teaching. While the traditional principles of violin playing are taught Alyssa includes mindfulness and breath in her methods. She also introduces improvisation and takes music beyond its notes on the page.

"Susanna is such an incredible teacher! I learned violin in school (elementary through high school) and was always okay, but when picking it back up as an adult (24), I improved but struggled significantly with trying to rebuild the basics on my own and not so much learn tunes, but make them sound *good*. Susanna has taught me so many practical techniques to add to my practice to improve my overall sound quality and I'm a better sounding player and more content with the continued incremental improvement than I ever was before. Truly cannot say enough good things - a pleasure to work with!"

"I had my first meeting with chris today. I was feeling a bit intimidated before i met him seeing all his credentials and experience. I need not have worried. He made me feel super comfortable and explained all the nuts and bolts of guitar on my level of understanding which is very basic. He was able to relay the lesson to me in a way that made so much sense, it just clicked. I left feeling very accomplished and very much looking forward to the next lesson"

6 Things to Remember for Singing the Blues

Love to sing the blues?
