Guitar is my first and primary instrument. I love it so much because it is one of the most diverse instruments in the world. With that being said I try to be not only a diverse player but musician in general. This past year I performed in GFA's (Guitar Foundation of America) competition with my guitar quartet and as a soloist.

I am trained in teaching music from csuf and specialize in catering my teaching approach to each students individual needs and learning styles. I have been teaching for over 5 years.

I have been playing guitar since I was 14, and have been performing and teaching for over 20 years.
I studied jazz guitar, composition, and theory at the Mannes Conservatory in NYC, NY., and also with several private teachers.
I teach many styles, including rock, pop, blues, folk, and jazz.
(I do NOT play classical or flamenco.)
I tailor my lessons to meet the interests and learning styles of my students. I teach playing by ear, music reading, tablature, and theory. I enjoy teaching students of all ages - children, teens, and adults.
I make lessons fun for young children, by including some musical games and activities. With teens and adults, I have the students choose the songs and styles they wish to work on, and go from there.

If you wish to learn guitar as a performer, I am the coach for you. Unlike other coaches, I also offer a Master Class for those who wish to sing & learn an instrument. In this class you will learn more than the fundamentals. Besides, strum/picking techniques, bar chords, chord progressions & the music theory, the master class will cover, microphone technique's used while performing, Eye contact with audience and using other chord inversions that help this process. My regular classes are packed with key focus on the fundamentals. I offer packed sessions with the fun of progress. Parents tell me that I have a wonderful way with there kids and my adult students are thriving. I have a number of budding stars that are learning how to play in a band, how to perform as a soloist, or how to combine singing with learning the guitar. I've been performing for 40+ years in NYC so I share what I know from an entertainers perspective. My emphasis is on teaching a broad range of styles of music. ...

Enough about me! We all know that everyone learns differently and has different strengths and weaknesses. My process is to analyze each student's unique abilities and to create a personalized learning experience for everyone. I have taught people from 5 to 83. I believe it is important to be empathetic to each person's needs, for example, I have experience teaching left-handed people, kids with Cerebral Palsy, Asperger's syndrome, people with missing fingers and other difficulties. Parents always ask me how I can be so patient with their kids, (the real secret is that I don't have to take them home ;) but on a serious note, I always remember the extreme amount of frustrating hours I put in before I got any real results.
