About Robert
It is my experience that no matter what kind of music you end up playing a solid classical piano background is invaluable. I was privately trained in classical piano from the ages 5 - 17 in Los Angeles, California. My teachers were Mary Brady, Mae Gilbert Reese and Jeane Weiss. I graduated from Ha

I only had the pleasure of taking piano lessons with Robert for two months since I got into Harvard and had to move to the East Coast, but I can confidently attest that he is a phenomenal teacher. To begin with, Robert brings to the table not only his classical training but also an open, creative, out-of-the-box approach. He is extremely knowledgeable and seasons lessons with fantastic facts about composers and pieces which makes everything a lot more interesting and memorable. lessons are versatile and designed to develop several key skills simultaneously. I never really played the piano before but after only two months with Robert I could read notes, develop my technique and actually play two beautiful pieces! If you are looking for a well-rounded, brilliant, cool teacher - search no more.

My lessons are very STUDENT oriented. I teach fundamentals, I teach technique, and I really focus on the instrument placed in front of me. Tone, quality, purity, and health are my main focuses. Classical, opera, jazz, musical theatre, pop, rock, whatever style, that’s what I’ll work with you on and guide you to finding your voice, healthy placement, and get you to the level you want to be at.

I have been studying voice since 1995 in England. I have a Doctorate and Masters in Opera Directing, and Bachelors in Vocal Performance and Theatre Arts. While receiving my degrees, I participated in operas and musicals as well as oratorios. I am a soprano, but I am familiar with all voice types. I believe that each person needs to discover their own voice, and I want to help you discover YOUR voice.
My background in directing and acting is helpful in assisting with role preparation, not just vocal technique.
About Jessica
Music and the arts have been a large part of my life since I was a child. I have performed in numerous operas, musicals and plays. Favorite roles include the Witch in Into the Woods, Agathe in Der Freischutz, the Countess in Marriage of Figaro, and Fastrada in Pippin. I have a degrees in Op

I am an accomplished vocal coach and songwriter and currently work with a wide variety of singers from young beginners to professionals who look to develop through ear training, singing and songwriting. My mission is to help students reach their fullest potential as singers and to build their confidence in the process. Lessons focus on each student as an individual and can encompass anything from vocal technique and song repertoire to audition coaching and even recording sessions to help the students with a project or to help them simply hear the subtleties in their voice more clearly as they train and grow.
Vocal Technique covered includes:
Range Building, Tone & Color, Vocal and Musical Dynamics, Diction, Releasing the Jaw, Opening Up the Sound, Body Conditioning For Singers and finally, Breath Support*
*I teach breath support in a way most teachers do not. I help students gain strong abdominal muscles and teach them how to use them to sing with more power and control. Rather than releasing the belly (as most teachers recommend) I show students how to breathe into their backs and use all three lobes of the lungs (upper, middle, lower). This allows them to keep the abs ...

Ready for your time to shine? Get ready for your upcoming choir audition with these tips from Ann Arbor, MI voice teacher Elaina R... Choir songs are all about group mentality.
