The cello has always been my greatest passion in life. I am originally from China and am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Cello Performance at Azusa Pacific University. I have been performed internationally, included Asia, the USA, and Europe. My first instrument was piano, but I soon discovered my passion for the Cello, which became my primary musical focus. I have a lot of patient and passion for teaching. I believe everyone can learn to play the cello with hard-working and proper training.

About Grace

Grace was born in Kaiping, China. She is currently pursuing her Master degree in Cello Performance at Azusa Pacific University, under the guidance of Dr. Marek Szpakiewicz. I teach beginner cello primarily using the Suzuki books, but supplement with other materials when needed. My students work on scales and rhythm constantly to improve their tone and musicality as well as technique. I teach classical, religious, fiddle, and more. I also teach group ensembles, trios, quartets, and I work with students on their school orchestral and audition pieces.

About Erin

My name is Erin. I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a concentration in Violin. I began studying violin at the age of six. Ms. W was the most dedicated and patient teacher. Each lesson, I could sense her love for music from the way she described the image of a sunrise from the 2nd movt. of the Saint-Saens cello concerto. Her attention to detail and professionalism greatly improved my cello performance.

Before taking lessons with Ms. W, I was with another teacher for 8 years, but I felt that I wasn't improving. Once I started learning of Ms. W, I improved dramatically. She emphasized the importance of a strong foundation, like sound quality and intonation.

With Ms. W, I was accepted into the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, then named Associate Principal Cellist. Ms. Wang was also the driving force behind my qualification for the PMEA District 12 and Region 6 orchestra. Soon after, she prepared me for my college audition recordings to several colleges and Yale University, which is where I am today.

Ms. W is an incredibly lovely and talented teacher. I was so lucky to have her and am excited for all her future students!

Queenie taught piano and cello in our home. She was very kind, patient, and made it fun for my children.

Having to be Ms. Queenie's student for almost three years, I have the confidence to say that she is one of the best music teachers I have ever had in my music career. Being a Music Major at Temple University myself, I have had many music teachers, and Ms. Queenie is the only teacher that I am still taking lessons with!

During classes, Ms. Queenie will always make sure that you feel comfortable and safe before teaching. She really cares about her students! Even with COVID close down, Ms. Queenie was able to transition into online teaching professionally and innovatively.

Another thing is that Queenie is actually my second cello teacher. When I first started, she was really patient and taught me almost from the beginning. LASTLY, She is going to be Dr. Queenie soon, so hurry before the price doubles up!

For the past 5 years I have been teaching cello to beginner and intermediate students of all ages. I started playing when I was 15 years old, so my experience learning the fundamentals of playing cello are still fresh in my mind. This gives me an edge in my teaching when introducing the instrument to my students. I am a member of the Lone Star Philharmonic Orchestra and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Cello from Texas State University. I can help you learn not only how to play the cello, but can ensure that you have a strong handle of the basic fundamentals, note reading, and music theory as well!

About Gabriel

Hello! I'm Gabriel and I began to play the cello when I was 15 years old after watching a metal band perform with only cellos and no guitars. As I began to learn the cello and play in orchestra, I grew to love classical music! I went to school at Texas State University and received two bachelors de

Gabriel is one of the best instructors ever. He found really interesting music for my daughters to play. He also gave them history about different composers and other background info. He taught them a lot of good techniques to help them play better. Overall, he is really inspiring and my daughters advanced a lot. He always went above and beyond. I can't recommend him enough. My daughters loved having him as their violin teacher as he helped them grow fond of music while playing their violins.

"The first lesson was excellent. I completed my first private cello lesson since playing about 44 years ago. It was wonderful. The teacher is very organized and very nice. I thought maybe the lesson would be a lesson of remembering what I had forgotten from so long ago, but I actually learned new things. I'm excited to attend the next lesson."

"I've been working with Nazar since 1998. Not only does he know his stuff and makes his teaching personal to your needs, but he also has a way to make you feel successful even when you are struggling. you always feel better about your playing when you leave than when you got to his studio. He recognizes your learning style and what you want to accomplish, then builds his teaching around that.

If you are looking for a cello teacher (and yes, he also teaches piano and other instruments) I'd say put your time and money into Nazar and you, you will feel it is one of your best investments"
