After discussing your goals, we will figure out the best way to accomplish those goals!

I am a really easy-going person and I want you to have FUN and discover new stuff every time you play your instrument.

After we figure out what you want to play and what areas we want to work on, I will make a special curriculum for you! Each student has a different curriculum that is specific to his or her level and learning style. I give a weekly curriculum after every lesson so you don’t need to worry about forgetting what we worked on at our lesson and you can work on it at home. Looking at past curriculum also provides an excellent way to look at a student’s progress.

About Natsuki
Hello Students/Parents:

I have been playing saxophone for 18 years and currently I am playing professionally in the Los Angeles area. I have been teaching music for more than 8 years and have been able to find fun and creative methods for helping my students succeed.

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and surrounded by a musical family. I started playing piano at age 4 and started playing saxophone at age 10. I continued my woodwind training in high school by learning to play flute and clarinet. After beginning saxophone, I found I had a passion for big band jazz music. I joined a big band for young musicians and played lead alto with the band for almost 6 years.

After graduating from high school, I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston on scholarship where I studied performance and jazz composition. While I was in Bost
on, I was fortunate to play lots of gigs around town and was also a featured soloist on a number of recitals, recordings, and film scores.

In May 2010, I graduated from Berklee College of Music and moved to Los Angeles. Always maintaining a busy schedule, I have been performing with a number of talented musicians at several venues in the LA area. In addition to playing live shows, I have been recording for film/TV music.

I love all kinds of music: Classical, Pop, Jazz, Rock etc…
Some of my favorite artists/influences include:
Cannonball Adderley, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, and many more

Thank you so much for stopping by my page and hope to work with you soon!

Best,
Natsuki

I have been teaching for the past 6 years, and love working with all different students. My former students have been selected to be in the Colorado All-State Honor Band and have been accepted to their top choice colleges for music performance. In 2016, I attended the Aspen Summer Music Festival, where I learned a great deal about clarinet and teaching. My specialty is pinpointing bad habits and working towards effortless, high-quality sound and technique.

About Josh
I am an avid clarinetist, energetic performer and enthusiastic teacher. My dream career is to be a soloist like Martin Frost, to play in an orchestra, or compose and perform my music.
My passion for teaching is similar to my passion for performing, and I have experience teaching privately since 2013 and in front of large groups, as a staff member for a high school marching band.
My teaching style is all about fundamentals as I try and break down the things you need to know about playing into easy to understand fundamentals that can be applied to all future playing.

Josh does a great job taking the music apart and really explaining to my 11 year old son where he needs improvement in a diplomatic way. He has great rapport with him. Highly recommend him!

Another fantastic lesson with Josh. He noted that my son tends to play his notes in a more "jazz" style which is great because I was hoping he would join jazz band in middle school! He is always positive and provides very constructive feedback to my 11 year old son to help him improve his playing. We are very pleased! (and my son is very comfortable with his teaching style... Love his tips and suggestions and his help with improving on songs he is playing for school.)

Very approachable, explains things clearly, friendly, and helped my son (very beginner) work on notes w/o squeaks, scales and other great tips to help him progress. Looking forward to our next lesson!

Experience in teaching clarinet students from aged 8-39, for exam and audition preparation or simply for fun, has allowed me to develop a flexible approach to teaching and I will tailor lessons to suit each individual's needs.

About Alastair
"Wright’s playing was tremendously technical and high-flying. So high-flying in fact, that when he reached for some of his highest altissimo notes my eyebrows shot up in sympathetic awe." - KC Metropolis Review, 5/29/18.

I've been teaching saxophone and clarinet privately for 10 years. I currently serve on faculty at the University of Central Missouri as Instructor of Saxophone, and teach saxophone and clarinet at the Kansas City School of Music. I am a Conn-Selmer endorsing artist. I hold music performance degrees from the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music (Bachelors), UK, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (Masters). I am currently completing my Doctorate in Music Performance at the University of Missouri Kansas City.

I love working with students of all ages, whether you have goals of making all-state, enterin
g into college music programs, or are simply learning for fun! Past high school students have had successes at district and state-level competitions, and have secured places in several college music programs.

Experienced Clarinet teacher of 7 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! Clarinet was the Primary instrument I studied while attending Ithaca College to receive my music education degree. I studied under Michael Galván whom is well recognized in the clarinet community. I have had two successful beginner students receive top chair placement in their respective high school and middle school bands.I believe that excellence is grown through practice and dedication.

About Michael
Michael A Tate graduated from the prestigious Music Education Program and Psychology Program at Ithaca College in 2012. Ithaca gave him the incredible opportunity to hone in on his musicianship and compositional skills. He was also able to discover a new medium of composition, film composition. Tate immediately fell in love with the art of writing music for film and was able to make his first musical debut on a film directed by Mike Blaney. In his time at Ithaca College, he composed scores for multiple films and continues to maintain an active composition career. Tate is currently finishing as a music teacher Brooklyn Scholars Charter School (BSCS) and Music Content Leader for National Heritage Academies (NHA) New York Branch. In the fall Tate will be returning to school to study the psychological benefits of music education for children
and adolescents, while teaching private lessons.

I have taught beginning clarinet in my band programs for 6 years now. I have a proven method that will work for any absolute beginner at any age. We will talk about tone production, reading music, reeds, and many other fundamental skills needed to get you off the ground playing the clarinet. After the 1st year of lessons, I would recommend you move to a teacher who plays primarily on the clarinet.

About Matthew
Hi, I am Matt. I am a band director in the Fort Smith, AR area. I am in my 7th year teaching band and love every minute of it. I have recently decided to return to teaching private lessons, and would love to help you with your auditions, festival music, AP music theory exams, or just learn some skills on becoming a better musician. Outside of the audition music, we continually work tone production, range, and confidence on any brass instrument. In college I had a small guitar studio as well. Some of those guitar students have gone on to study at the collegiate level and gig around town today! I am comfortable teaching at all levels, but my expertise is centered around student development at the middle school to high school level.

June 2012 - June 2015 I was the head band director of Waldron High School. We won several awards through ou
r marching and concert band program. I also ran after school lessons in which many students made our region honor band.

June 2015 - Present
I am currently the head director at Trinity Junior High in Fort Smith. I run a 7-9 band program that includes both marching and concert band seasons. Our student involvement is quite high as our band program serves about 50% of our total student population.

I started playing clarinet in 1998 and continued through college. I took private lessons under Dr. Christopher Gibson at Northwest Missouri State University. I have a Bachelor of Education in Instrumental Music from NWMSU.

About Dana
It has been a dream of mine for a long time to be a full-time piano teacher. I have 25 years experience playing piano and 7 years teaching. I play many other instruments and have an overall passion for music!

Some of my strengths include patience, humor and compassion for others. I want to figure out what makes you tick. What do you want to learn about piano? I am always looking for new and exciting ways to teach piano. Did you know they make color by note coloring books? At the end of the day if I can share even a fraction of my love for music with you and you are able to learn something, that is what gives me true joy.

-I have been teaching for over 40 years, In the classroom and in the private sector. My students, over the years, have made countless Superior and Excellent ratings at all sorts of competitions! Just to name a few such events, All-State Band, Solo and Ensemble Festivals, Honor Bands, performances for talent shows, pageants, school and church programs. I also had the only student in the state to make The All American Band a couple of years ago.
-Another accomplishment of my students is numerous college scholarships awarded to them with my tutoring and their hard work! Every student who I have helped prepare for a scholarship audition has been awarded a scholarship.
-As a student myself, I made the All-State Band 4 years (no middle school All- State in my state in those days), and my senior year I was 1st Chair Red Band (top band). In college I played 1st chair all 4 years, and after that I earned my Master's Degree in Music and Education. I was associated with symphony orchestras as ...
