Piano Lessons in Mc Girk. Amazing Teachers.

I love teaching and providing the student with different types of styles and genres to learn from. If you wanted to learn classical then we would focus on that and learn in the most efficient pedagogical approaches there are, but if you wanted to learn jazz or rock then we would instead focus on the creative and improvisational side of learning. What a student needs is also based on who they are and what music they love, and with a good combination of fundamental principles and musical exploration the student is nurtured to be the musician they want to be.

Piano is, in my humble opinion, the best instrument for its versatility, diversity, and mental benefits. As well as the fact that it can branch into any instrument.

Qualifications:

- I have been playing piano for 16+years
- I have now taught piano for 6 years
- I have earned a music for piano diploma from an SCPA based high school
- I have professional playing experience, and have played several concerts
- I have been certified to work with all level working up to advanced, but not beyond
- I am listed as one of the top ten piano teachers in San Diego

Things to expect in a piano lesson:
- I will not provide any materials
- A majority of practice/rehearsal will take place outside of class time
- If you do not practice, outside of our lesson you will not see any improvements

Expirienced piano teacher of 20 years available for eager students of all levels and ages! I structure my lessons that students can learn what they want to learn while also building strong foundation of classical piano skills . I specialize in classical, jazz , rock piano typically use Faber books . My students can participate in misic festivals , competitions and piano recitals.

I provide an all rounded, fun, and enjoyable piano class for students of all ages.

You will learn
- Everything from famous classical pieces to your favorite pop tunes! Every student is different, so I adjust my lessons and provide customized material accordingly.
- Technical skills such as scales and arpeggios in fun ways as I incorporate them into songs
- At a higher level, you'll learn how to put your emotions and interpretation into the music
- Music theory is a must for students in order to understand how to read notes. I'll even incorporate some songwriting or composition to develop creativity and originality!

For young people and beginners I use the Alfreds piano books, they have great songs that students really like and they teach note reading gradually without a lot of tedious memorization. Young people and beginners are a specialty for me.
Advanced students can work on songs they choose and learn how to read chord charts, how to use music theory or how to improvise jazz if they like.
