My goal as an instructor is to keep the lessons fresh, fun, interesting, and to ultimately guide the students to better teach themselves as they gain experience and familiarity with the instrument and music. Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so that we can build upon their strengths and focus on lessons to improve weaker areas. Students will learn how to build dexterity, use proper technique, and be creative. Every student has different goals, some really want to learn theory and read music. Others may simply want to learn to strum a few chords. Whatever the goal, I can provide the instructions to help the student succeed!

Very patient and informative. Allowed me to ask endless questions. Addressed all my concerns and removed any doubt about this arrangement working specifically for me and my schedule. His studio has a very nice setup and it's simplified. We did a breakdown of my experience and focused on setting realistic goals towards my learning process. More than a "Teacher" of music but a "Professor" of guitar methods! He focused in on getting me comfortable with the most basic of finger techniques, finger placement and familiarized with the sections of the solo lead guitar. After an hour's session my mind was put at ease about my ability to be patient with myself. I was never made to feel awkward or out of my league. This caused me to open up and to really focus. Mr.Cole has a great style and passion towards helping me to soak in as much content as possible. His location is within a community that's family orientated. I look forward to being tutored by Mr.Cole over the course of the next year without any complications.

I love to play the guitar whether it be electric guitar or acoustic, those who know me personally have seen firsthand that I'm passionate about music and where the guitar fits into it.

Why you should take my classes? My straightforward approach is appreciated by everyone who has taken lessons with me I'm careful not to confuse or intimidate my students with too much theory and musical jargon. My classes are perfect for: beginners, late beginners, intermediate and late intermediate.

I've been teaching music for 10+ years and it's been a great experience! My goal is to help make guitar a positive experience for you, build your confidence and help you be the best player you can be!

I really enjoyed being in his class. He really helped me grow as a musician and when I didn’t understand something, he took his time to make sure I understand the material. He was amazing to have as a teacher and I’m really gonna miss his class.

Jonathan is a great guitar teacher, he's very knowledgeable and does a good job of helping you understand the guitar. A great aspect of Jonathan's guitar lessons is that he shows you how to apply technical information (chords, scales, arpeggios, triads, etc.) to actual music.

Book your next guitar lesson with Jonathan, you will be glad you did!

"My son has been getting guitar lessons from Jeremy for about six months. My son is really enjoying learning to play and he looks forward to his lessons with Jeremy! Jeremy is a wonderful teacher. He's knowledgeable, intelligent, professional and easy going. Jeremy is not the first teacher that my son has had but he's by far the best. I feel very fortunate to have found him!"

"My son has never played a musical instrument so I wasn't sure how this would go, but Christopher has really connected with him. He came home and actually practiced during the week! And Christopher always comes out after the lesson and gives me a little update which matters to me as a mom. I also appreciate how he doesn't just boot him out the door at the end of the lesson. AND my son is actually talking about music! Definitely learning more than just some chords. Good instructor who obviously loves and respects music. :)"

"I have been taking lessons with Remi for about a year and nine months to this point. His teaching honestly just gets better and better. Every lesson is fun, and he really take a lot of pleasure in his students' progress. He thinks about where I am, week-to-week, and the week's lesson builds on that. After his many years of teaching, I'm sure that he could probably just put things on autopilot and have a few "canned" lesson plans, but he doesn't do that. He selects lessons for each student individually, constantly customizing to build on the foundations he's helped create. I have nothing but praise for this wonderful teacher, and the amazing way he brings out the musician in each of his students."

How to Set the Right Goals for Learning Guitar

Learning the guitar is a great goal in itself - but you'll need to get more specific if you want to truly make some progress! Read on as Hillsboro, OR guitar teacher Geoff A. walks you through the goal-setting process...   For Beginners The first goal is getting the fingers of the fretting hand to cooperate in forming chords. I begin with E, A, G, C, B7, and D chords. Practice ten to fifteen minutes twice a day and understand: your fingers will hurt a few weeks until calluses form, depen …
