Acting for stage and screen will focus on choosing appropriate material, audition coaching, developing vocal ease and endurance, speaking with confidence, and textual interpretation.
I am a very positive and patient teacher. I focus 50% of my lessons on physical and vocal warm-ups and 50% on the student's chosen singing and/or acting repertoire. I look forward to working with students of all levels and find joy in helping people find their voice.
I earned my bachelor of music in vocal performance from the University of Redlands and my MFA in Acting from UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television.
Annalise has a very impressive background in music and education, and it really reflects through her lessons with my daughter. She has instilled a lot of confidence in my daughter, to the point that she tried out for, and made, Advanced Choir at her school. I very highly recommend Annalise!

I have been involved in several productions, and have extensive acting experience. I am able to help my students study their characters, and realize a wide range of acting choices.
I have extensively studied vocal performance for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have a Master of Vocal Performance Degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, where I extensively studied the anatomy of the voice. I am the founder of BAWS Studio where we train artists in all aspects of performance (singing, songwriting, recording, piano, and guitar). I previously worked for a recording studio (Sound Summit Studios in Naperville IL) where I teach voice and help singers record their music in the studio. I have previously taught at The School of Rock in Indianapolis Indiana. I have administered vocal lessons to every voice type at all different levels. Several of my students have recored albums and are currently performing all over the World.
I have a bachelors
degree in biology with a minor in art. After graduating college, I was a full-time high school biology teacher, volleyball coach, and director of the school musical. As a high school teacher, I learned first hand the kind of pressure and expectations that are placed on students in order for them to succeed. In college, I was the head student researcher on a two-year lab project. I took several upper level science courses including: biochemistry, calculus, organic chemistry, calculus based physics, cell biology, anatomy, and physiology. I studied marine biology in the Virgin Islands and am CPR certified.
*** Lesson Details *** Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer's voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.
During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano, recording equipment, large collection of sheet music
*** Specialties *** I specialize in helping students find their true singing voice.
Phenomenal. Gets to the point, is great at demonstrating, and provides feedback you can work off of.

So far, lessons with Ben have been VERY good (and productive! I'm naturally a reserved person, but He has gotten me to push beyond my comfort zone (that is "be louder"), which in retrospect has also helped me build my confidence in other areas. So at this point I look forward to having lessons, because I am growing in my understanding of how to use this God-given gift; a gift that's meant to be shared (not hidden away in silence).
Dive into detailed acting technique. Drama to Comedy. Harness means of character and emotional delivery, and find your versatility as a stage performer.

Teresa was awesome! She worked with me and my limited flexibility and really set me up for success with exercises to integrate into my routine. She was also very cognizant of a prior injury and presented long term alternate solutions to tissue regrowth. I really look forward to working with her again!

She was really great, we have only had one lesson so far but she made me feel very comfortable and I feel like she will be perfect for me helping me get over my stage fright. She came up with quite a few ideas up front and can tell she is taking it seriously, which makes me even more confident in her because it is such a serious issue for me. I am looking forward to working with her.

***My Promise to You***
I will treat you like an individual - that means that we'll find out how YOU learn best, and we'll work that way. I don't teach memorization. I teach by asking and answering questions, as well as providing information.
***My Expectation of You***
That you will come with an open mind, come with questions, and a willingness to learn and have fun.
*The Humanities* The reason so many people go screaming into the night when confronted with lessons in things like history, or government, or English for that matter, are all the names and dates to memorize. I don't teach that way. We begin with things you want (or need) to know. From there, we cover how those things affected other things, It's a huge world out there, and how we got here from where we started is a wonderful and complicated trip. History doesn't happen in a vacuum, and we learn who we are by knowing where we come from.
*Papers* Obviously I won't write your paper for you, but I will show you how and where to start your research (and how to sort it as well). I will also proof-read for grammar and/or organizational errors and show you how to structure it in general terms.
*Drama* I have acted, I have directed. From the community to professional levels. We will talk about character creation, about staging, about working with your director as well as your fellow actors. We will mostly brainstorm, and you will be able to experiment in vision as well as technique.
As an actor who has been featured on various international commercials for brands such as Old Spice, Southern Comfort and Anthem Blue Cross, as well as professional theatre and operatic experience I am well versed in various approaches to film and stage acting for your particular project or audition.
I am a professional vocalist who regularly performs with orchestras, rock bands, jazz bands and as a singer/songwriter. I teach beginners to professional touring artists and can break down the seemingly complex vocal techniques in simple to understand concepts and exercises. My focus areas are breath, placement and freedom from tension in order to increase your efficiency, stamina and flexibility between registers and musicality. (See my online tutorials for a quick idea of what it might be like to work with me)
I have a degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan and have worked professionally from Opera to Pop. I started my professional music career at the age of 10, traveling the world with the American Boychoir School in Princeton, NJ. I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where I worked as an instructor and vocal
coach for the Grammy Award Winning Pacific Boychoir. I also sang professionally for ensembles such as the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Clerestory, American Bach Soloists and San Francisco Pocket Opera.
I am currently a vocal instructor for Sweetwater Music Academy, music director for the Jesters (a theatre ensemble for people with developmental disabilities) and I sing for hospital patients as a Parkview Healing Artist. I have taught grade levels K-8 in private schools so I am accustomed to all age levels.
As a songwriter I have composed and performed music for MTV, VHI, E! and the Oxygen Network, and have acted on commercials for Southern Comfort, Old Spice, & Anthem Blue Cross.
I am also the songwriter and front man for the original regional RootsRock band, Fernando T. & The Wickersham Bros and have established myself as a teaching artist for young audiences through the Carnegie Hall Link Up Concert Series.
I look forward any questions you may have and hope to help you or your child find creative fulfillment from the most unique instrument in the world- your voice!
[PLEASE NOTE: I will be teaching exclusively online from June-December 2017 period and am happy to squeeze in as many in in location lessons you would like before then]
As an instructor Fernando, listens and pays attention to what it is I’m saying and is very good at readying the tone of our class/session and can change things up/move the lesson in a different direction to better help me. Weather I’m just not getting it, or if there seams to be an exercise I get very quickly, he does not waist time in that area. He creates a comfortable space that lets you know it’s ok to do things with your voice that maybe in the past you where nervous to do or even told not to do. This little tid bit right there is why everyone needs to give it a shot, I would highly recommend Fernando!! I give him an A++ Rating.
June 26, 2019
I had a great first experience working with a voice coach and Fernando. I am learning new ways to engage my voice for public speaking.
My goal is not only to help you deliver an attention holding speech, but also to help you become more comfortable speaking in front of your large or small crowd. Whether you're giving a 5-minute presentation to a board room of executives, delivering a sermon, or describing yourself in an interview, I will work to help you to take what you've written and present it confidently.
I grew up in the Northern Virginia area and have spent the last 15 years participating in some form of public speaking, whether through acting, directing, or delivering speeches. I have a B.S. in Theatre and Acting. I have delivered numerous speeches in front of crowds as small as one and as large as a few hundred. Currently I work in a position that requires public speaking to a crowd of at least 200 each week.
***Lesson Details*** I am fun and laid back in my style of teaching. I expect that the student will have pieces prepared or in mind for us to work on. Because public speaking can be troubling on its own, I try my best to provide an atmosphere where the student can feel comfortable.
I often will use very short clips of other speakers to provide ideas on both vocal and physical delivery. I do encourage the student to
practice what we cover on their own, and to come prepared each session.
I do not teach "mechanical" speaking. Some of the points we will work through will be annunciation, pausing, facial expression, volume, awkwardness, delivery, what to do with your hands, and most important, being comfortable. I have a good ear for fine tuning a vocal performance, and a few solutions to help out with difficult moments. My goal is to help you deliver unique, confident, even enjoyable speeches for any occasion: sermons, monologues, board room presentations, opening/closing statements, interviews, etc.
***Studio Equipment*** Computer, speakers for MP3 player, space to move (if needed).
***Specialties*** I specialize in speeches of short to moderate length (1-30 minutes). Monologues from plays/musicals will be approached differently. We will work on the vocal and physical element of your presentation, but I am happy to also assist in helping you develop your character within the monologue.
I cater the lesson to each student's needs. As an actor and director, I have experience and empathy of being both on stage and behind the table. I work with industry professionals on monologues, audition prep, self-taping and more, As well as new comers and high schoolers. With my extensive training, I can simplify moments of training, and also help you nail that audition.
ASPECTS OF SESSIONS - Selecting and performing monologues - Auditioning - Self Taping - Breaking down sides - Emotional Preparation - Shakespeare - TV/Film auditions And more...
What drives me to wake up every day, is to supply actors with a safe space to grow and learn trusted actor tools and resources. I want to foster, the lessons I've been taught and learned, and help the actor change their path and careers. I love meeting new artists, collaborating, and getting results.
I'm a producer/actor/director who combines that with my passion of being a life-coach. I attended the high ranking, UNCSA, Royal Shakespeare Company, UCB, and have private coached for 5+ years. I know the juggling that happens with the life of an actor and have the experience and ability to help you navigate it. During my private coaching, I've had successes such as: Master of None, Hawaii 5-0, Off-Broadway Plays, Julliard, DePaul, and more. My private coaching has helped clients book roles, extend their network, find longevity and purpo
se in the acting pursuit and life.
I have extensive experience and teaching exp. in: Shakespeare, Monologues, EPA's, Self-taping, Improvisation, Auditioning, Winning the room, Meisner, College auditions, Stanislavsky, and more.

I have been a professional actor in the film + television industry for 16 years and counting. My training is mainly based in Meisner, with a degree in Character + Script Analysis from one of the best 2-year conservatories in the nation. I have also completed a Shakespeare Intensive course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. I have a background in Uta Hagan's methods, Stanislavsky, Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg, so whatever your fancy, I would be able to help in a way specific to your process. I am still a working actor and have years worth of on-set experience as well and could help with any audition prep needed. I love working with actors helping them reach a greater level of understand of themselves + their processes!
Hello! As someone who's worked professionally as an actor for over 17 years, I know first-hand how difficult it can be to find a coach you're comfortable with or who understands your particular process. No two actors are alike and what may work for one, may not work for another.
Meisner's technique was the one that has resonated deepest with me. The 2-year conservatory I graduated from taught his methods with a strong emphasis in the original precepts of Stanislavsky. However, before that I spent years studying Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagan, Boleslavsky and Michael Chekhov's methods. You could indeed say I've tried it all. I worked like a dog over a bone while studying and I know I'll never truly be done, which is also unbelievably exciting to me.
While my training is more theater-based, my experience is mainly in film + television. I
started working as a teenager and haven't stopped. My experience has also ranged from big budget movies (The Final Destination) to grittier, independent fare (Sugar Mountain). I have been the lead of every film I've done, save for one, which happened to be directed by my brilliant acting teacher, and I have worked with some of the most respected actors in the industry (Beau Bridges, Aidan Quinn, Jason Momoa, Rainn Wilson to name a few). I have had recurring guest stars on TV shows (Teen Wolf) and one episode arcs on others (The Librarians, Beauty and the Beast, Major Crimes). I also produce, write + direct my own films.
I love acting so much and I love people who are dedicated to becoming the best actors they can be. I have such a reverence for this art form, but recognize the importance of being irreverent while searching for a higher truth in a moment. I truly look forward to working + playing together to help you become a more truthful, confident actor!
Haley is absolutely fantastic! I look forward to our each session !
September 21, 2017
Haley is exactly what I need. Experience, easy to talk and answer questions. I have been an instructor for many years in the Music biz, but being a student now with Haley as my instructor seems a great pleasure. I feel I will learn much from her easy going approach. I look forward to many more lessons... Dino Maddalone

I worked with Haley multiple times as I was preparing a role and the insight she offered me really helped take my preparation to the next level. She worked with me until I felt completely confident and the work we did definitely paid off. I got great reviews and my director and other actors even commented on how advanced my work had become.
"David is very patient and sensitive to his clients... I love his creative ideas, he has help me immensely...:)"
"Vandi was patient with our teenaged daughter who needed help for a school play audition. Our daughter got the female lead and we don't think she would ha
ve without the confidence and skills provided by Vandi. We are signing up for more lessons now that has the part!"
"Amelia was great. She provided excellent instruction, adapted to my style of learning and gave me a targeted plan to help me improve my acting skills thro
ughout the course of my lessons. As a beginner, I couldn't have asked for a better teacher for my introduction to the world of acting."
"Randy is a genius and is very encouraging! I highly recommend!!"
"Alexandra was my primary coach when I was applying to MFA Acting programs last year. She is the best! She was instrumental in my success at every step of
the process: helping me to pick material, coaching me on how to highlight my unique skill set, preparing me for what to expect in the room, and even in-home coaching while I filmed a taped audition. She is insightful and clear in her instruction and the breadth of her theatrical training allows her to tailor each session to the specific needs of each client. If she hadn't already helped me get accepted to one of my top schools (where I'll be starting this fall!) I'd absolutely hire her again. I can't recommend her enough!"
"Absolutely the best! She knows her stuff. I've been working with her for 6 months now and I can't think of a better person to work with! She knows what/ho
w the industry works and is always available for questions. She has become my backbone for all things acting and the business of acting.. Five stars isn't enough..."
"Amelia is one of the best acting coaches that I've had the privilege to work with. She is patient, caring, and understands that every student learns diff
erently. Amelia will work with you to help you bring the most to any performance piece you work on. She will teach you to analyze the script to understand why your character does what he does or says what he says. She will teach you how to connect to the material to bring your performance to life. Amelia helped me grow as an actor and inspired me to begin writing my own material for others to enjoy. If you have a passion for the performing arts and want to make yourself better for it, then look no further than Amelia."
"David is a "one-of-a-kind" Acting Coach! I have been a professional in the industry for the last 10 years, and I attribute most of my success to David. Da
vid encouraged me to lean into my own interferences and self-consciousness in terms of acting, in order to get more comfortable with the unknown and my fears. I attribute David to my success because through this classes I was able to gain the rarest gift any acting teacher can give their student: confidence. I am a braver artist, a more present actor, and even a better person thanks to David's classes. Not only did David influence me as an actor/artist, I use his lessons every day when I teach my own Acting Classes in Chicago. I highly recommend him."
