I love showing other people how to play musical instruments, especially cello! If you're a beginner, I'll get you playing music right away; note-reading, scales, and stuff can come later. If you've been playing for a little while, we can work together to help you learn new skills, new music, and practice techniques that can help you progress quickly while avoiding frustration.

Jonny plans on communicating a love for music in his lessons. He believes firmly that technique's purpose is to get out of the way of the music and all physical training (posture, hand formation, release of tension, etc.) is to allow that to be fluid process. A lover of etudes and scales, Jonny uses those as the building blocks to developing a musical ear and allowing the performer to truly connect to the audience.

I am passionate about teaching students who are just getting started as well as those who seek extra knowledge on the cello. Taking cello lessons, you will discover the basic fundamentals of posture, bowing, fingering the cello. We will discover a variety of music pieces who will learn the style of composition pieces and applying the knowledge to performance. Cello lessons with me will be a lot of fun no matter if you are a student or an adult. Pei-Jen Tseng began playing piano at the age of four, which then led to playing cello at the age of ten. After completing her Bachelor of Music degree in Cello performance from Taiwan, she moved to the U.S. to pursue her graduate studies from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music receiving a Music of Master degree in Cello performance. Ms. Tseng also holds a Professional Studies Diploma in Cello performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She has performed as an orchestral player and chamber musician throughout the years. As a chamber musician, Ms. Tseng believes that ensemble playing builds confidence, teamwork, and leadership abilities while developing every essential musical skill: sense of pitch, rhythm, and tone. These skills will cross over to every aspect of a student’s performing experience, making them a much better musician overall.

Experienced Music teacher of 8 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of their instrument and theory skills. I specialize in all styles. Typically, I use a variety of method books to pick from to meet the needs of the students. I also have many tools available to use during lessons.
