Students will learn how to read music in standard notation, tablature can also be taught on student request. In addition students will earn all open position chords and some barre chords.

About LeeLee
While I teach many styles of music, I emphasize foundations in classical technique and encourage all of my students to have a basic understanding of musical principles in order to strengthen their playing and comprehension of the music. I received my Bachelors and Masters of Music in Guitar Performance from the Peabody Conservatory and currently am working on my Doctorate at the University of Arizona; I also teach and perform throughout the Tucson area. All of my students are encouraged to participate in recitals and performances while they are taking lessons. LeeLee is a really wonderful teacher. She’s calm, patient, knowledgeable, and flexible. She is able to offer insights that are allowing me to make much faster progress than I ever have on my own or with any other ukulele teacher, so I’m motivated to continue. With her instruction, I’m finally enjoying playing my instrument, and I see that proficiency is on the horizon. I’d recommend her to anyone.

I started taking ukulele lessons with LeeLee as an adult. She was very encouraging, professional, and flexible. She focused on the basic musical elements, always explaining concepts. She was willing to explore the types of songs I wanted to learn to play. She made taking lessons again very fun. I would highly recommend her as a teacher.

Charlie is an awesome teacher and my 6 year old enjoys the guitar lessons. We like him so much better than the original independent teacher we had, with whom we felt rushed all the time, and we didn't get our money worth. With Charlie is different, he is patient and has the right approach for kids beginners; we highly recommend him to others.

That bone crushing riff, the iconic solo, an instantly recognizable reverb-laden intro: everyone has guitar hero fantasies, and it's my goal to bring students from 'if only I could play that' to actually playing. But I go further than just teaching riffs and solos: I focus on learning songs and teaching basic chord and scale theory to develop technical ability and improvisational technique. I also believe learning is exponentially easier when students enjoy the songs they play, so ideally all learning material is based off of the student's individual music library. I aim to help you get that song out of your head and into your hands.

About Cole
I'm a student at Washington University by way of Chicago. I currently play bass in a jazz combo on campus, and also trade off roles as guitarist and bassist for a house band for a sketch comedy show. I've been playing for over ten years, and have been teaching lessons back home for the last three.

I spent the last four years working for Reverb.com, the world's largest online musical instrument marketplace, where I contributed guitar-related web content and served as an authority on vintage guitar knowledge.

I've made so much progress on the banjo in a pretty short amount of time, and could not have done so without a teacher. He charges great prices and the lessons and material are worth every penny!

I enjoy giving lessons tailored to each student's needs and goals. From those who have never picked up a guitar to those who are auditioning for a major music college, I love to help others learn how amazing the guitar is.

My style is geared toward the individual, but I do specialize more in teaching: songwriting on guitar, music theory on guitar, developing great technique, how to read notes and tab on guitar, and learning my student's favorite songs and adapting them to fit their skill level.

I have been teaching guitar for over twelve years, and have professional songwriting experience (over 50 compositions published), band and recording experience (major radio-play in America and Europe), and I am classically trained and have a degree in music.

Let me help you achieve your music dreams!

An experienced guitar player of 13 years. Especially good with beginners including both very young and older students. It's never too early or late to start playing! Will cater a specific personal lesson plan to your desires to make sure we move at YOUR best pace. We'll build a solid foundation so that you can learn how to teach yourself and continue to grow and love music long after these lessons. We can get you up and running with your favorite tunes or start delving into the musical theory side of things. I make sure that our lessons are fun but also challenging and I make sure we spend some time learning how to build finger strength, how to improvise, and (most importantly) how to play with other musicians! Let's Rock 'n' Roll!

About Joe
Hi there! I've been playing guitar for over 13 years. Throughout those years I've been in many many bands. The first started in my buddy's garage (because his parents actually bought him a drum set!). I've been taking lessons ever since I was in 7th grade and love playing all different genres of music. Nowadays, I am a music student at SIUE studying Jazz Guitar and teaching myself blues riffs. I write and record my own music and play around town as often as I can.

I love sharing the gift of music with others and seeing the look on students' faces when they play their favorite songs. I am extremely patient and guarantee I can teach even the most stubborn students. I am also very flexible when it comes to lesson plans. The first thing I like to do is sit down with the student and determine his or her own goals. Do you want to learn your
favorite songs? Or maybe you want to learn how to improvise and solo like your favorite guitarist. We will definitely focus on learning to play with others. After all, music is meant to be shared!

If your one of those people who has some experience with the guitar but maybe you've put it down for a while and want to jump back in, then I'm your guy. You've already got some knowledge and muscle memory. Let's work with that and get you rockin' again.

If desired, I can offer crash courses in recording your own music, singing while playing, and how to get started writing your own songs. Really I'm here to help you get where you want to be. And if you don't know where to start, don't worry! I've been there too and would love to be the one to get the ball rolling with you. Playing an instrument will be one of the most fun and rewarding experiences of your life.

From rock to classical music we will explore guitar playing in a fun and constructive way! From day one the focus will be on making music with the guitar as opposed to just a dry, academic approach. And that is not to say that what we will be learning won't be academic. My curriculum is designed to create musically-conscious students who appreciate and understand music to a collegiate degree.

About Baltazar
Hi! My name is Baltazar! I am a passionate teacher and musician who has been playing since about age 10 and teaching since about age 15. I love all styles of music and aim to re-create that love in all of my students. I firmly believe that in order to learn and excel in a subject a student must enjoy the process of learning itself. I pride myself in my ability to do that with all of my students.
