Music is a way of living that enhances your creativity, gives a hopeful vision and makes the life sparkling. After my professional opera experiences for many years, frankly I can say that you can't loose the child of your inside that makes you different than the others. During my education process, I realized that the key of loving your work was also related to your instructors. Being a mentor, leading a way of something that will reflect someone's life is so precious and requires some responsibilities and solid background. When I was a student, I was always passionate about looking to work with the best teachers, I was extremely interested in learning something new. So I believe If you're a teacher, you should have strong skills, knowledge, willing, a good human being, kind attitude , patient and passion. It sounds cliche but people deserve it. So my goals in teaching, causing to be loved the music, raising people who feel full of elements of singing, explore the abilities of ...

About Aysen Idil
Hi, I'm Idil. I’ve just received my master degree in Voice program from Mannes School of Music. I'm extremely interested in working with you!
Shortly after my graduation from undergraduate studies, I started my professional career. I have been engaged with Turkish State Opera House as a permanent opera singer for seven years. In this role, I had the opportunity to perform leading roles with well-known orchestras, conductors and opera companies. It helped me to develop a professional attitude, discover leading research in opera at a younger age, develop good communication skills, musical discipline and responsibility at a young age. During this time, parallel to my professional duties, I assisted my voice teacher, who is a prima soloist in Turkish State Opera House, and had a chance to work with the students who provided me a chance to d
evelop my teaching skills to a wide variety of students. After the professional experience, I had a desire to further improve my music skills in the academic world. This led me studying and getting my master’s degree and complement my professional experience with academic research. The experiences I had has been invaluable.
Teacher position requires ability to teach and communicate effectively, develop continuously and be responsible and disciplined with the tasks at hand. I believe my professional and academic experience have prepared me well in all of these areas.

While I was a young student, I always wanted to work with successful and well-equipped teachers who had significant and relevant hands-on experience. I believe, my experience and background prepared me to be one of those teachers who can help younger generation to build the skills necessary and grow in their area of study. This is what excites me the most about teaching.

Have you ever been to a show and thought "this singer/band is technically good, but I wish I felt more from their performance?" I not only will help you become a better technical singer/songwriter, but will help captivate your audience and give them an experience that'll leave them wanting more. With my help, reaching your goals as an artist can easily be attained once you have the skills as a performer to match those of your musicianship.

About Taylor
Hi! I'm Taylor, a vocalist/songwriter/arranger that's been living in Seattle for seven years. I'm passionate about performance technique and getting students out of their shells and into the spotlight! If you want to hone in on your craft while having fun and learning more about who you are as an artist, then I'm the teacher for you!

A little more about me... I studied composition and vocal performance at Cornish College of the Arts, class of 2016, and studied with grammy nominated Brazilian composer, Jovino Santos Neto, grammy nominated composer Wayne Horowitz, and grammy winning leader of the Kronos Quartet, David Harrington. As a student I studied everything from opera to Persian music to jazz and to pop and let this exploration of genre guide who I am as a musician. I have composed pieces and have sung with the Seattle Philharmoni
c Orchestra, for Concertmaster of the Pacific Northwest Ballet's Michael Jinsoo Lim, and for Seattle Symphonies violist Mara Gearman. I am currently spending most of my time as the lead singer and main songwriter of the band Bowyn, a blues chamber pop inspired band that's working on our first album.

Taylor is extremely easy to work with and very talented in her ability to advise and challenge you to grow. She's willing to work with you to define goals and help you get there through actionable practice and advising she's learned throughout her career. An important aspect is capturing the reason you need music in the first place and she goes beyond just being a voice teacher and into being a coach/partner to help you achieve your unique goals with music. I've become more confident with my singing which she is able to help me understand requires different skills than just direct vocal practice. I'm excited to continue to learn from her!

About Mary V.

Hi everyone!

I am a certified Music Educator and have worked in International Schools for the past 6 years (with certificates etc; to prove it).

Right now I'm a professional opera singer and have sung in Sofia National Opera, State Opera Stara Zagora, Varna Opera as well as various smaller theaters in Italy, Germany & USA. (Hopefully more!)

I think the benefit of studying with me is that I have a very strong conception of vocal technique and I have the "teacherly" patience to explain things clearly and in different ways. Singing is an art from that a lot of people can do but not many can explain. It's a pet peeve of mine actually. Since singing is a natural thing, some people claim to be able to teach it and have no idea what they are talking about. A singer does not a teacher make.

If you are really serious about improving your singing, I may be the teacher for you. Opera requires a very strong understanding of singing technique (or else you will die!). This technique ...

About Mary
Hi Everyone!

I am the rare combination of a teacher AND a professional singer! I am suitable for people of all ages and levels. Please read below!

A the moment, I'm working abroad in Lebanon with an NGO helping to develop a Music Program for Palestinian Refugees. (July 2019) After that, I'll be singing Woglinde in Das Rheingold in Berlin with full orchestra (August 2019).

In September 2019 I'll make my debut in Varna Opera singing one of my signature roles, Nedda in i Pagliacci. Other upcoming roles include Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana and covering the title role in Tosca with North Wales Opera (September 2019).

I also recently made my Sofia National Opera debut (January-April 2019) in the modern chamber opera "Katze Ivanka" as the title role. I'm very busy singing lots of operatic repertoire in solo concerts as well as on t
he operatic stage.

I am in an interesting environment as I travel often and hear a lot of great voices around me. My environment is healthy but also competitive which forces me to be on my best game at all times.

I think my experience as an opera singer is valuable for a singer of any level or musical interest as singing this art form (opera) requires a strong grasp of technique. If you do not have technique, you will not survive. Operatic singing is not about blowing your vocal cords out, it is about economical singing-understanding how the vocal cords work, how to use breath support effectively (and there are different variants of breath support!) etc; If you are having vocal problems such as hoarseness, difficulty with top notes or pain-I think I am the one to help you. If you are a high school student wanting to shape up your singing, I think I can help you! If you are an amateur who loves to sing but have no idea how to make improvements, I can help you!

My confidence in my ability as a teacher is because I am a certified Music Educator who's worked in high level International Schools for the past 6 years. I have worked a lot with both adults and children extensively in professional settings. In my former job I was responsible for lot of concerts, theatrical productions and instrumental concerts.

If you have a child interested in doing lessons, I may be a great option. I have enthusiasm and in general students seem to really like working with me. In my former job I had high numbers of participation in all of the ensembles which was essentially due to the fact that students enjoyed working with me. I also conducted an adult choir for a few years when living in the Middle East.

Basically, if you pick me-you are getting a great bang for your buck. Singing is a tricky business. A lot of people "teach" singing but have no idea what they are talking about...since we can sing naturally, some people claim to know how to teach it.

With me, you get a professional, patient and experienced teacher and singer!

I have only been working with mary for about 3 months. But I have seen great improvements in my singing techniques. She provides great warmup that work on all aspects of the voice to ensure that the voice is developed in all registers. She is a wonderfully encouraging and enthusiastic teacher while also being extensively knowledgeable about technique. She is serious about improving skills but also makes the lessons comfortable and fun. I really like the convience of scheduling lessons and doing lessons online. She is also very good with german and french diction.

I am a recent graduate and studied vocal performance and pedagogy. I love singing and figuring out the best way to teach each student as an individual. I know that everyone learns differently and I want the lesson to be as fun and efficient as possible! I have experience teaching everything, from the "broadway belt" (in a healthy way) to classical arias and art songs, to popular music!

Let's see if we're a good match!

About Mackenzie
I am a singer, piano player, and church choir director. I graduated from Central College in Pella, IA with a BA in biology and music, specifically vocal performance and pedagogy.

I have had the opportunity to sing with world renowned artists, including Gabriel Espinosa, Kim Nazarian, Ethan Butler, and more! This has given me great insight into the music business and the importance of networking.

Creating individualized lessons for each student is the name of my game. I enjoy creating music with my students and troubleshooting during each lesson. I am always reading on the latest techniques and repertoire for students of all ages, to make sure my students are getting the best and newest information.

A BA in music also requires a large amount of music theory and history, which I enjoy adding into lessons. If interested in a more
in depth study into this, I would be happy to add more into each lesson! Understanding context of a piece of music is incredibly important to know before singing it, which is why I like to go over just a little bit of history with each piece.

I enjoy teaching all styles of music; Broadway, classical, gospel, pop, and everything in between! Know that the foundation for all of these styles is the same, so if you are interested in learning multiple styles, it will be easy to do!

I look forward to meeting with you and creating together!

How to Sing With Vibrato: Correcting A Wobble
Learning how to sing with vibrato as a singer is one of the ways to really make an impact on your audience - but there are a few things to avoid when you're learning the technique. Take a look at Seal Beach voice teacher Carl B.'s advice here...
