With ample experience in both the creative and business sides of being an artist, one of my great joys is equipping others using all that I have

learned, and I believe in taking a specialized individual approach for each person and project.

Whether you need help with crafting your work, navigating social media or learning an instrument, I'm here to help you figure out the best of what will benefit you.

I love all the ways there are to communicate -- through language, sound and visuals -- and am so blessed to share the gift of these arts with others!

About Clinta

Though today it seems somewhat countercultural, for as long as I can remember I have maintained an affinity for math. This love naturally grew into computer science in college. I am now majoring in Computer Science and Information Technology in John Jay College Of Criminal Justice CUNY, and I believe my courses in programming and math have prepared me well for an intensive and challenging tutoring sections for students.I did my schooling in India. The education system in India exposes children from younger age to higher mathematics courses. My exceptional problem solving skills made me master in the field of mathematics. Mathematics is a mind game. All that you need to know is the rules. Once you understand the concept, It is no longer a burden.
I am here to help you build a strong foundation and share my tricks and methods of approachi

ng a problem.

Clinta is a very good tutor. My son gained more of an understanding in the topic he was studying because Clinta worked around his strengths and weaknesses in the particular unit of the Algebra course. It was nice to have a tutor who's schedule is flexible and will try to meet you when it's best for you and your child.

About Jennifer

I knew History was my future at 5 years old when I didn't just dress up as any princess or queen, I dressed up specifically as Queen Elizabeth I. Medieval and Renaissance history have been my passion ever since. I figured out that maybe I should teach when I realized how much I annoyed my friends and family with my "did you know" tangents.

My degree is in European History with a minor in Sociology. I have a specialization in Monarchial studies (that is, the aristocratic families) and paleography (the study and transcription of ancient handwritten documents). I've taken extra classes along the way including a class on Richard III taught by the archeologist that discovered his body under a carpark in Leicester and a prolonged course in paleography that resulted in a book (Deciphering Secrets: Unlocking the Secrets of Medieval Spain by Dr.

Roger Louis Martinez-Davila/Uni. of Colorado).

I have worked with the Smithsonian, Zooniverse, and the University of Colorado on transcription projects including British WWI battle diaries, Ancient Greek papyri, and 14th-century Spanish Catholic Church documents.

I also love to travel and have visited many of the places I study. I've visited Switzerland, France, England, Denmark, Sweden, and Italy. I have toured the Tower of London, the Louvre, Notre Dame, Voltaire's chateau and village he designed Ferney-Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau's birthplace, St. Peter's (Jean Calvin's church) in Geneva, the Roman ruins in Lyon, St. Mark's Basilica in Venice, the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, the Vatican, and the Colosseum.

It may be needless to say but, I love sharing my knowledge and would love to share it with you!

About Mika

I am a professor with seventeen years worth of experience in teaching various subjects for a multitude of students. I've taught subjects such as creative writing, commercial law, ancient civilization, ancient and transitional Latin and Greek, as well as Graphic Design, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Federal and Commercial Building Compliance and Law, et cetera. To put it bluntly, there's very little I cannot teach.

I've taught GED classes and courses for the State of Michigan and the Northeast Penitentiary system for seven years as well, which has been some of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had.

I believe that everyone can learn. All it takes is that student to professor connection and knowing what type of learner the student is. I don't believe in a "one shoe fits all" type of teaching style.

My students are unique, with different ways of looking at problems and different ways of coming to their own conclusions and solutions.

Good teaching is a mixture of art and science—the ability to grab and keep students' attention and convey complex information, Mr. K does just that!! I have taken about 4 or 5 classes with him and I must say he has taught me everything I need now in my career. Patient and vastly knowledge. Definitely would take another class with him!

Mr. K taught was amazing. He taught the GED in Michigan a few years ago. The moment I walked into his classroom, it was just one and one. He didn't treat me like all the other teachers. He actually cared and it showed. But man, is he hard! I didn't think I would get homework after the first class, but I was seriously wrong. But over the next two months, he grilled me and grilled me until I wanted to scream. But when I took the GED and was scored, I aced it! Just to warn yall though, he's not an easy teacher. And he doesn't put up with excuses. But when he gives you his attention, its all of it.

He even went waaaay beyond the call of duty and helped me get into college at Lansing Community College. He walked me through the application, even drove and met me at LCC, and sat with me when we talked to the reps. He even helped me look for scholarships and gave me advise on financial aid! This guy is a saint!

"today's class was very intresting.I got to learn lot's of details that the books did not tell me"

"Mr Guy is a super talented and passionate teacher, he will never give up on the student until success, by success I mean 95s and above. History can be a h
ard class as there is a lot of timelines and events that have happened, especially world history. After having him as a teacher I have never stopped thinking about the timelines and the events, and the best part of Guy as a teacher, he will make sure that you understand both sides of the story, such as from an American side, and German side. This opens my mind up to an international viewpoint, and I have been able to have conversations with historians about for example WW2 and I have managed to surprise them with my knowledge, only because of Mr Guy.
Never have I ever met such a passionate teacher in my entire life, and I would even want him to private tutor me if I was still taking History."

"My 3 daughters looked forward to Tutoring Nights with Colin!

I have 3 girls in High school (10th, 10th, and 9th) . they had been struggling in math si
nce I can remember. I didn't think I could afford tutoring. They each had an 'F' in math.

I found Colin, and what a blessing! In just THREE short weeks Colin had my girls understanding HIS lessons, their CLASSROOM lessons and PASSING their exams! They brought their grades up too!

The best thing I can compare his tutoring to is: an adult teaching a kid to ride a bike...
He didn't expect them to just ride a bike. he took the proper steps and taught my girls about the bike parts, the way the bike functions, how they all work together, how to properly sit and pedal, and he even held them up until they understood it completely and eventually were able to ride the bike on their own.

Thank you Colin! for putting my girls back on track with math!"

"Marwan is amazing!
He impressed me already the first minutes of the first lesson he gave my son in AP Calculus BC by asking specific questions and pin po
inting where my son might need help. After that he has come prepared and focused with materials for each tutoring session.
Marwan's piano credentials speak for themselves but I want to underscore that he is really good at adjusting to the student's level and making it fun. My daughter always tells me afterwards *it is so much fun with Marwan!*.

On top of all that, Marwan is a good, kind person and a really cool guy. You could not be in better hands."

What Types of Creative Writing Prompts Work Best for Kids?

By Megan L.

Kids who love to write may be off and running once the pen hits their hand, but other children might not feel comfortable writing unless given a few creative writing prompts. Creative prompts encourage imagination and provide a jumping off point for journal entries and stories. Even children who love to write may find it easier to work from a prompt because it gives them an area of focus - and it's fun! As a parent, one of the best ways to encourage your child's love of the written word is to pr …
