*** Lesson Details ***
I am a very laid back person however I'll make sure you get things done! It doesn't matter what you'd like to do with your music I can help you get there and reach your goals! I use two different curricula for piano: Alfred Piano Book Series and Faber Piano Book Series. Also to help motivate I let kids bring in a song or two they would like to play maybe from a movie or a pop song (it also depends on their level). For voice I usually let you bring in books you already have or if you don't have any I'll choose some based on what you'd like to learn in voice whether it be classical, broadway, jazz etc.

*** Studio Equipment ***
In home piano.

*** Specialties ***
I can start piano or voice at a very young age. Students will learn music theory with piano, vocal technique and performance with voice, and how to really be convincing while acting.

Lisa is very outgoing and entertaining. She is encouraging Ali to be braver/less timid when singing and acting...this is exactly what Ali needs. I appreciate Lisa's positive attitude. I would like to split each session into 30 minutes acting and 30 minutes singing. I think both disciplines could reinforce the other. If that seems to short maybe we can move to 1.5 hours.

Students of all ages in a personal relaxed atmosphere.
Customized to each student. If the student has not previously taken lessons I use Piano Adventures as the basic course guide. I have found it the most productive and enjoyable for my students. I uses a minimum of the Lesson and Theory book for my younger students with either the basic course or Accelerated course depending on their age and maturity. Adults begin with the All In one adult book. I add the other books that accompany each level based on the particular students needs and interests. I believe that a good grounding in Theory is essential as a student who becomes proficient in sight reading, no matter how well he/she plays by ear, will find that the doors for lifetime musical fulfillment with be much wider. However, with a student who has already had some lessons I will be happy to continue with any method that the student is currently using.

About Kathy
About Me: I am an experienced classically trained Pianist who has been playing since the 3rd grade. I enjoy all styles of music and love sharing that enjoyment with my students. I have certification from the State of Missouri that I am proficient in educating beginning Piano students and have continued to expand my knowledge through my participation with local musicians’ groups. I am also working on expanding my instrumental abilities through perfecting my percussion skills and planning to learn guitar.

Experience: I have taught students for over 30 years and have seen many changes in both student’s preferences and the style of Music and instruments preferred. I am comfortable with both traditional pianos and organs and modern electronic keyboards. I have given lessons in my home, my students’ home and retail studios.

Methods & P
hilosophy: I use Piano Adventures as the basic course guide. I have found it the most productive and enjoyable for my students. I us a minimum of the Lesson and Theory book. I add the other books that accompany each level based on the particular students needs and interests. However, with a student who has already had some lessons I will be happy to continue with any method that the student is currently using.

Lesson Style: I also believe that Piano Lessons should be fun. Since I generally teach one on one, lessons can be tailored to each student and I add supplementary material to the Piano course as soon as possible based on the student’s progress and interests. I am willing to add supplementary music in most any genre from current radio hits, to Pop Standards and soundtracks, as well as Holiday Music based on the student’s culture. There is no proper pace as long as the student is willing to practice and is interested in learning. I am always surprised and happy when a student “gets” the language of music and really starts to express himself/herself through the instrument and I always find that my students teach me as much as I teach them

While teaching classical piano, I always try to incorporate the material that students like the most: Holiday songs, Broadway melodies and favorite cartoon songs. All of this definitely adds to the enjoyment of learning how to play. Besides having two recitals a year, I encourage students to play in front of their peers at school, to always play for their families and to participate in various competitions and festivals around the St.Louis area.

About Daniela
Hi ! My name is Daniela and I can't wait to meet you!
I have been teaching piano and theory since 1994 and have loved helping my students discover the beautiful world of music. Seeing my students grow into well rounded and educated people that love art, are able to recognize different styles of music, express their feelings and emotions on this wonderful instrument makes me really happy. My students range from people who simply want to learn how to play proficiently as a hobby to students who are considering making music their future career.
I strongly believe that a chance to go on a big stage and play on a great Steinway piano in front of people, makes a big difference in children's lives: teaches them self control, gives them great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Taking part in festivals and piano competitions helps
with building high self esteem even more.
I look forward to helping you and your children to reach your goals!

Charlie is an awesome teacher and my 6 year old enjoys the guitar lessons. We like him so much better than the original independent teacher we had, with whom we felt rushed all the time, and we didn't get our money worth. With Charlie is different, he is patient and has the right approach for kids beginners; we highly recommend him to others.

Want to learn to play all your favorite songs, but think it will take years of piano lessons? NOT TRUE! I can teach you a system that will allow you to hear a song, sit down and play it within minutes! Learn about keys, chords, chord progressions and a whole lot more! I specialize in teaching how to play by ear, but I customize my lessons to focus on the things YOU WANT TO LEARN. Classical. Pop. Jazz. I want you to enjoy your lessons while also learning the fundamentals.

About Chris
Hi! My name is Chris, but a lot of people call me Luppy (pronounced "loopy"). I am a professional musician in the St. Louis area specializing in jazz as well as performing with my band Sky West Trio (www.skywesttrio.com). I am classically trained but also play by ear. I have years of experience in the music business. I toured the country for 8 years with a band (LP Outsiders) that led to a publishing deal with Windswept Pacific, landing a song on the Three To Tango movie soundtrack, appearing on the Disney Channel Show "2 Hour Tour" with 98 Degrees, and opening for many national acts. We even toured with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy for a year. I also played trumpet on a b-side on Natalie Imbruglia's multi-platinum selling single to "Torn," and did some songwriting with Robbie Nevil (of "Ce La Vie" fame).I also have performed all over the wor
ld including many caribbean islands like Aruba, Barbados, Curacao, St. Maarten and St. Kitts.

I offer lessons to people of ALL AGES! I customize my lessons to focus on the things YOU WANT TO LEARN. My favorite thing to teach is how to play by ear! I can teach you the system that all professional musicians use to be able to play songs instantly after hearing it once. It really is possible with a little practice.

I do also teach the classical repertoire if that is what you are more interested in. For most students, I teach a combination of playing by ear and learning music theory, as well as some classical repertoire.

My lessons are unique in that I make studying piano enjoyable and beginners start to feel the love of music, and want to succeed. I get beginners {adults or children playing pieces very quickly. Sight-reading and theory are incorporated into beginning lessons {students do not realize they are learning these}. Later theory is taught as a separate part of the lesson. In the 15 years I have taught, most beginning students are playing at a 3rd year level at the end of one year. Intermediate and advanced students learn history of the composers works they are playing, and how the composes' lives affect the interpretation. I teach the technique need for a piece. I do not have my students practicing scales and other rote exercises. My students learn all the technique need as part of the pieces they are working on.

About Keith
I was a combined piano performance and theory major at Texas Christian University. I was fortunate to have studied with some of the best teachers in the world, including Mme. Lili Kraus, Miklos Ivanich and Dr. Stephen Swedish. After college I taught fro several years to mostly grade and middle school students. I happy to say the after many years I am still in touch with many of them and they are still playing, and appreciate that I taught them the love of music. I work at my student's pace. I do stress learning everything correctly before advancing. Students work at different paces, which is why I do not feel that group lessons are useful for many students. I am very patient with a student's progress as long as he or she is learning.

I've been teaching piano lessons for nearly 30 years. I've taught Kindergarteners through adults, have taught public school music, and also taught future music teachers at the university level. I have a PhD in education with an emphasis in music. I'm still an active performer, direct music at a church and have played professionally for many years, including 2 times in Carnegie Hall. I believe students should have a keen concept of fundamentals, which are often overlooked by most teachers. Once you learn the basics, it's much easier to progress.

About Phil
I've been a professional musician and music teacher for nearly 30 years. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in music and PhD in education, with an emphasis in music. I've taught students from the ages of 5 to 72.

I've had a successful performing career and have played twice at Carnegie Hall and in the National Conservatory of Music in Ecuador, just to name a few venues. I have recorded music, won song-writing competitions, and have had music published. While I still actively direct music at a thriving church, my passion is in teaching others the love of music.

I believe in teaching and focussing on the fundamentals of music, as it is often overlooked by many teachers. Once the basic skills are learned, musicians can apply the same skill sets to other literature.

I look forward to helping you develop your talent.
