My name is Maggie and I'm a piano teacher. I have been teaching private piano lessons for 10 years. I focus on students' fundamental skills such as finger technic, sight reading, and ear training. I also incorporate music theory during the piano lesson so students also understand why the music sounds beautiful. I teach at my home studio, and I can also drive to your place if you have a piano or keyboard. I teach Classical, Jazz, Blues, and Pop. Don't hesitate to contact me if you are looking for a piano teacher, you're welcome to join my studio!

I am currently teaching most piano lessons online. I am also available for a few in-person lessons in my home studio, if certain safety precautions are followed... more about that at the end of this section.
Whether your lessons are online or in person, a typical lesson with me will include things like this:
-The student plays what they have practiced, and we work on any difficult areas and techniques for playing better.
-I introduce new lesson material, asking questions to make sure my student understands.
-We work on music theory, sight reading, good posture, and helpful practice techniques.
-I expect my students to practice every day, just as I do. It is the only way to become proficient.

For online lessons, you may use the online platform provided by TakeLessons, or we can use Zoom. Most of my students are using Zoom.
You will need to order lesson books before your first lesson. Please contact me after you sign up to discuss

Students will quickly learn not only the basics of music theory, but will be playing songs as early as their first lesson. It is extremely rewarding watching students have fun, excel, and fall in love with making music. I look forward to working with you.
