Raycurt is not only knowledgeable, he is extremely skilled. He is thorough and maximizes time by providing superb instruction. My son looks forward to attending his classes; and I am a parent who is beyond pleased with Raycurt’s level of expertise.

This was a really unfortunate and wasted experience. Raycurt was wildly unprepared to teach. He brought a broken metronome and almost no sheet music/lesson plan. I had spoken both to the sales rep and Raycurt himself prior to the lesson and he was still fully unprepared.

I also explained my level of experience and was assured Raycurt was qualified to teach at the level I needed, but he came off as less knowledgable than me, which was particularly disappointing.

Worst of all, after multiple hours of speaking on the phone, I couldn't get my money back for this lesson.

I'd strongly recommend not using takelessons at all, they've put a horrible taste in my mouth for their entire service.

My first lesson with Zach was great! 5 stars. He asked the right questions as to what aI am looking to do. And we quickly came up with a lesson plan that with the right amount of work in my part will get me headed in the right direction. Zach does a great job of making his students feel comfortable and good about their abilities.

I have been teaching and performing for over 20 years, and I really love sharing the music with students. Fiddle and folk music is fun music for dancing and singing. I play and teach Celtic, Old-Time, Bluegrass and other styles to students of all ages. Learn by ear and by note. Whether you are an absolute beginner, returning to music after a break, or you know some tunes and want to learn more, I can help you find your "voice" on the fiddle. We call it "PLAYING" , so come and Fiddle For the FUN of it!

About Donna

I love teaching and sharing my love for music. I have taught violin/fiddle to students as young as 3, and as old as 92, and had fun with all of my students. I love seeing the enthusiasm grow in absolute beginners, adults as well as children, and encouraging them to find their own joy in music. I

I have been blessed with knowing Donna and taking lessons from her for 10 years. She is extremely skilled, patient, and a joy to work with. She has taught me so much and I always look forward to my lessons.

Donna came highly recommended by an employee at a nearby music store. She has been great at engaging my teenage daughter in her violin lessons - both with continuing the Suzuki program, and diversifying into fiddle music. Donna is patient and fun and seeks to lead through inspiration, which works really well for my daughter, who is talented but not particularly disciplined about practice. My daughter always looked forward to lessons with Donna - even on Saturday mornings! When we moved to online lessons because of the Covid stay-at-home order, Donna kept the lessons interesting and they have had a nice rapport. Donna has a way of fitting a lot of instruction into a lesson without it feeling boring or labored. She's really helped my daughter appreciate music, not just play the violin.

I am an adult beginner violinist. When I first met Stephanie, I had barely touched a violin, but I was determined to learn how to play it. With her help and patience, I am progressing through the Suzuki method as well as doing ear training and music theory. Stephanie is an excellent musician as well as instructor! Her method of teaching keeps the students engaged, encouraged and excited about learning music from all sides of it.

I strongly recommend Ms. Quinn. She is amazing. I love a teacher who is passionate about what she does and Ms. Quinn has motivated me to love the violin and work harder to improve. She is slightly strict but very patience and kind, always pushing you to work hard and do your best. I learned to play violin a few years ago as a beginner and stopped playing for a few years. I was nervous to begin online violin lessons considering that I learn better face to face. However, Ms. Quinn has done an amazing job at teaching me, I have been taking lessons with her for a year now and have learned so much I didn’t know before which has also grown my love for violin.
Hui F.
Stephanie helped my younger one prepare for competition. She was highly skillful, supportive yet strict. Initially, my girl was a bit nervous to work with Stephanie because of her high reputation. Stephanie was very kind and fun, using metaphors to help my 10-year old understand the music. She not only helped my child overcome barriers to master the music piece but also shared much practical advice for competition. We did not expect this but my 10-year old won the first prize and was invited to perform in Carnegie Hall New York. Highly recommend Stephanie!!!

She came out all the way from NY to NJ for my mothers birthday, and though she is a beginner, emerged from the 1 hour lesson so inspired to keep practicing, able to fully complete her first song! She even did a little performance at the end on the lesson! She is a great people person, fun to talk to, and she really knows her stuff. Excellent choice!"

She is also able and willing to work on what I’m interested in but also points out things she thinks I need to improve on. What's the Difference Between the Violin and Fiddle?

Is that a fiddle... or a violin? It's a common question, and one that baffles many beginner musicians. So what's the answer? When it comes to the actual instrument, there actually aren't any differences. What distinguishes a violin from a fiddle is what kind of music you're playing with it. A musician playing folk, bluegrass or country, for example, would most likely refer to their instrument as a fiddle; those who play other genres (jazz, classical, etc.) typically call theirs a violin. …
