Are you a beginner piano player interested in learning how to play your favorite songs? Do you like how the piano sounds and want to learn what each note is or how to take control of the instrument? Are you a singer looking to grow with your vocal exercises and learn how to play scales?

I learned how to play piano 4 years ago when I started teaching music lesson. When I first started I was teaching voice, so I had to learn scales and chords to be able to warm up and accompany the students I was working with. Pretty soon I was playing piano with my students for their recitals, and quickly I learned how to utilize the piano either for performance or practice!

Whether you are planning on leading with it, using it as accompaniment to someone else/yourself, or just want to learn for fun as a hobby, I can teach you all you need to know for your beginner piano studies! If you have any questions, please message me!

About Mikala

Mikala has been providing lessons for my son Ben, and she has been amazing!! I love that she is not limited at all in her abilities to cross over her knowledge as a vocalist, piano player, percussion and strings! And her perspective as a professional musician is incredible! She is so energetic, my son is always engaged! Thank you Miki!!

We begin with exercises to develop technique and train for agility, musicality and music theory. Classical music is used but not exclusively as we explore the many different genres of music! Ear training is also offered so that the student may be able to play by ear as well as reading music.

About Tim

My wife and I have been teaching piano lessons in the Kansas City area for more than 20 years. We have studios in our home; she teaches upstairs and I teach downstairs! I am currently accepting new students and welcome the opportunity to see them grow and experience the joy of piano playing. W

Tim is a wonderful instructor. He genuinely loves music, and it comes through during lessons. He has a positive teaching style. He strives to meet my kids where there at and teaches to their interests, but also manages to get technique and theory in. Tim is a treasure!

I've been teaching piano and keyboard for over ten years. I've developed a unique, project-based to help the student understand and develop the skills necessary for piano and keyboard in today's world. I teach the fundamentals of music theory and technique first, and then allow the student to choose specific areas of focus.

About Aaron

Hi, I'm Aaron, and I'm here to help you achieve your personal musical goals. In 1999 I received a degree in music composition, and I've been composing, performing, directing, producing, and of course teaching ever since. I've been learning from Aaron for about 4-5 years now. Hands down the best teacher I've had. He managed to explain the theory behind every piece according to level the student is at and explains it amazingly. In a world where most people just want to learn to play, he ensures that they understand the intrinsic theory behind the pieces. He's helped me with arranging pieces, composing, and learning. Not to mention that he is quite possibly the most versatile person I've met who can do literally anything from writing to music production. Besides piano, he's helped me with being organized and maximizing my productivity. He brings a unique approach to piano and practice that I think has helped me tremendously.

Directed toward beginners, my approach will focus on simple music structures, basic fingering techniques, and other fundamentals while learning how music is built and structured. Students will play from simple music charts as well as learning to develop a musical "ear." Music theory is an understanding of how music is a composite of related components which is critical for interpreting, learning and performing. Piano is learned in the context of a music theory framework.

About Jerry

Dr. Jerry G. has performed as a professional musician, drummer and vocalist for almost 50 years. He has a background in classical music and has studied theory and numerous instruments and vocals. After playing hits in the 60’s, "Dr. J" performed as an organist doing 10 shows a week in '69 and '

Great Instructor!

My 6 year old is well... a 6 year old but Dr. J is so patient with her and has already taught her so many new skills in just a few short lessons. He keeps the lessons fun but is able to refocus her on her lessons. Dr. J is an overall amazing musician that is very skilled in a variety of musical techniques. He is also very professional and extremely reliable (even in inclement weather). I would recommend Dr. J to any family that is wanting their child to learn how to play music.

"We Absolutely LOVE Terri! and more importantly, my daughter really enjoys her time with Terri. We had to take a brief break at the end of the school year, as my daughter was feeling overwhelmed with school responsibilities, but Terri was incredibly understanding. Our daughter is very critical of herself, and tends to only see the mistakes she makes, not the progress. Terri is always reminding her of the positive, and is very encouraging. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!"

"Laurel has been my kid's piano teacher for a little over four years now. My kids absolutely love her, and I think that is what makes the difference because I want my kids to enjoy taking lessons. Laurel is very knowledgeable and patient. She makes sure students learn both reading music and playing by ear. My kids have come a long way with reading music and playing the piano, and I think a big reason is because of Laurel."

"Sophia has done so much to help me in my academic career. I don't think I would have made it through my piano classes without her. There were a lot of things I knew factually, but I didn't understand conceptually. Learning piano and composition with her has really helped me to understand music theory practically and to actually play it.

I get anxiety when I perform, even privately. She really helps me feel comfortable and helps me not worry about making mistakes. I like a lot of different kinds of music, and she's great about being willing to work on anything I bring up to her, while also helping me stay focused. She helps me create goals, so I can actually see progression."
