PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT TEACH REGULAR SINGING LESSONS! I DO NOT TEACH VOCAL PRODUCTION, BREATH CONTROL, RANGE INCREASE OR ALL THE OTHER TYPICAL THINGS THAT SINGING TEACHERS FOCUS ON. What I DO help with are the MUSICAL and TECHNICAL aspects of singing only. Many other singing teachers send me their students for help with these difficult issues because they are my field of expertise. These include pitch control (if you sing flat), how to sing harmony, self-accompanying techniques, sight singing and performance anxiety.
About Howard
I enjoy working with complete beginners as well as seasoned professionals. I teach classical and popular styles. I specialize in teaching learning how to learn, sight-reading, technique, improvisation, chord-reading, songwriting. One of my specialties is to help you break through your most stubborn

In year 2008 I became the single youngest person to be accepted into the world renowned Speech Level Singing International teacher training and certification program. I work with all styles. My goal with my voice students is to teach them how to use their voice in a healthy and natural way while maintaining the ...

Wow! Mr. Cooper is such a wonerful teacher. After only 5 lessons my daughter has built her range and is learning the importance of breathing. She loves coming to her lesson each week and is pushed in such a kind and positive way. Looking forward to continuing lessons. We can't say enough great things about Farabog!!"

After being 'school-teachered' by my first instructor I was a little discouraged about my ability to sing, and to get the nuances of musical theory.
Stephen helped build my confidence and got me singling whole songs quickly. He demonstrated simple techniques that enabled me to make the most out of my vocal range while being encouraging every step of the way. He accompanied my singling with piano changing from harmony to chords as I master the harmony and tempo. We added guitar from time to time.
Stephen's experiences as a professional musician gave me some insights in the art and craft of performance which we discussed between pieces.
I highly recommend Stephen."

In the time that I met with Chau, I learned so much. I normally don't feel very comfortable with strangers, especially when I'm in a position to mess up, but with Chau I felt totally accepted and successful. We became fast friends, and I enjoyed every lesson we had together. Thanks to the instruction from Chau I discovered that I was capable of things I had only imagined doing. When I got to school this fall my vocal instructor was very impressed with a voice that I didn't have before I met Chau. I owe any success and vocal quality I have to Chau; without her I don't think I would have the vocal confidence that I have now. Chau has a unique talent for taking even the most unlikely voices and people, and helping them discover just what they are capable of. I really never though that I would be able to sing anywhere or, feel OK singing, anywhere but in my shower, however when Chau came into my life I feel like a different me came out. I am so thankful that I met Chau, she is truly one of the most talented and kind people I have ever met; she is upfront and honest because she really cares and isn't just looking to make a buck. If you're looking for a vocal instructor that really cares about helping you develop as a person and as a vocalist, Chau is definitely worth meeting."
