I am a classically trained cellist and have been teaching for the past 8 years. I have a Master’s degree and a Post Graduate Degree in Music Performance, with emphasis in cello. I have played with top orchestras like the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, and have played with musicians such as Yo-Yo Ma. When teaching, I strive to find the right balance between technique (which is key to improving), and other aspects of music such as musicality, historical context and performance practice. I have taught people of all ages and levels, and love sharing my passion for cello with each one of my students!

Hi everyone!
My name is Naza. I have been playing cello for 30 years - I started practicing at age 8 at a music in school in Kyrgyzstan. I then graduated from the National Kyrgyz Conservatory and continued my studies at Moscow Conservatory under Maria Tchaikovskaya. I've performed internationally in Russia, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, and the USA.
I've been a member of the Skokie Valley Symphony and Highland Park Strings. I currently teach in my private studio in Chicago area and have been doing so for the past 8 years.
I love to teach this beautiful instrument and strongly believe that everyone has he potential to learn to play it at any age! The art of music makes us better people and more in tune with the world - it heals our souls and has the power to bring us all together. My philosophy for teaching cello is to bring out the best in a person, through the genuine connections we make over time. My students and I always choose the repertoire together so the process of learning is ...

I love playing and teaching the cello, and I'm so excited to share that with you as you learn to play the music you've been hearing in your head. I'll work with you to create a personalized study plan that is engaging, positive, and progress-oriented. My teaching style is as slow as you need, as fast as you can go. Technique should always serve the music, so we'll focus on creating art and telling the story that you want to tell.
Lessons are open to anyone; even if you don’t have a cello yet! I have worked with beginning students learning the basics of reading music, to advanced players & colleagues looking for a careful ear. For learners under 10, I recommend 30-45 minutes. For all other players, there's no time limit; I love to go into details and can work as long as you want! For multiple lessons a week, discount packages are available. Congratulations on taking an amazing first step into learning the cello, and I look forward to meeting you in our first lesson.

I was an Orchestra Teacher for over 10 years and taught many children how to play the cello from beginners to advanced players. I know how to make corrections verbally because these were instructions I had to make orally in class. I will help you develop your technique and improve your facility on the instrument.
I can also give feedback and help on learning how to practice
