I have been in the acting profession for 35 years - primarily Classical Stage and Voice-Over acting. I have taught on many levels and for different ages including workshops for high school students and university level conservatory programs. I have also taught adults in both Shakespeare and group Voice-over classes (at a Professional Studio). I love what I do and love teaching it to others.
At present, I create, preformed and produced my own audio work and have found that it is incredibly beneficial to learn something new or invest time in a subject or skill that you are interested in.
I am an actress that has performed and taught for over 35 years. I love it! I can help you prepare for auditions, study structure, develop skills, get over fears of speaking in public or simply reach a deeper understanding of your favorite texts.
As for teaching voice-acting for voice-overs, I have extensive experience both as a VO performer and private coach/teacher with students who are currently working as well as those who are aspiring to become professionals.
Each actor/talent has his or her own unique voice. It is my job to help each student find their own path while teaching them the skills nessesary to succeed in whatever their goals may be.
I am happy to share my expertise with beginners as well as seasoned veterans who need to brush up on their skills or prepare for an upcoming audition.
I initially had Corliss as a voice over teacher in a class, then decided to further my work with her as a coach and producer to create my voiceover demos. We covered all aspects of voiceover, including the physical: posture, microphone placement, etc., which I believe really enhanced my understanding of how physicality comes across via the voice. With her classical acting background, she was able to help me improve my overall speaking technique and provided me with vocal exercises to help minimize my regionalisms.
She was diligent in reviewing competitive demos to guide me to a variety of written copy and voice/energy levels that will help my demos stand up to those with more experience. She provided valuable advice regarding selection and use of materials for the demo and beyond as well as insights on the voiceover business.
I’m very pleased with the results of the two demos and expect to continue to take advantage of her coaching services as I grow in my new career.

Corliss is a master at her craft! She makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet her and has a genuine interest in your goals. Corliss tailored lessons to my learning style which was very encouraging for someone with my level of experience. She has a lovely personality and her enthusiasm is infectious. I would highly recommend taking lessons from Corliss!

I took a five-session Beginning Voice Acting class with Corliss in a professional recording studio. The critiques she gave me after every recording I made helped me to speak more clearly, and to increase the energy I was able to put into my recorded presentations. Without the critiques of my recordings, I would not have been able to improve my speaking ability. During the class, she made sure everyone in the class was made to feel welcome, and important. When I take the next level of the Voice Acting class series, I will be looking forward her critiques of my recorded presentations.
I work as a professional actor, voice over artist, and audiobook narrator. We can work on speech for the actor, dialects, how to make a career in the industry, and more!

Practicing with Vandi improves my skills more quickly than practicing alone and she is very good at not only answering questions via the internet tutoring but through phone as well. She is very prompt and consistent and provides easy to read materials for my skill level. I'm very happy with my purchase through Take Lessons so far. This is my first time using this website and it is my third lesson as I am new to piano. I have already recommended this site to other people.

I follow five simple but important steps to my method of engagement in performing. 1. Explore Explore your space. Rather it be on stage, in front of the camera, or just in your head; you must explore your space to find your comfo
rtable and tight places, as well as your obstacles and free spaces. The advantages of exploring first, is that you get a chance as the actor, to feel the area and build that fourth wall. 2. Ground Plant your feet and your voice down and get grounded. Your being is an electrical source. Just like in a home, in order to use electricity safely, it must first be grounded. You must ground yourself in order to release the full potential of your power. 3. Listen Listening is a key element in not just acting, but also in life. Listening doesn't seclude itself to just words. Listening involves, listening to your body, listening for queues, beats, moments and even silence! If you choose not to listen, your response will never be valid. 4. Act and React Every action has a reaction. Your job as an actor, is to fulfill the role by acting and then reacting. You must learn specific techniques to appropriately apply to your acting and if you are following rule number three, reacting should be a breeze. 5. Trust your muscles Trust that through repetitive motion and practice, that your muscles will do it's job and place your mind, words, and body exactly where it needs to be.
With these steps, the only thing left to add is discipline and creativity. I encourage my students to be themselves and be fearless in that. Without your difference in the world, there would be no change, there would be no story to be told, there would be no excitement. I challenge you to excite me and allow me into your space. Let's explore and create together!
Stephen enjoys helping actors go from average to engaging, with the experience to prepare an actor for a casting director's office or a TV or movie set.

Hi! My name is Ashli and I have been a professional actress for over 20 years. I have several professional (TV/Film) credits and I have been in over 20 stage plays. In addition to my professional career, I have been studying acting for over 15 years and hold a bachelors degree in theatre acting from The California Institute of the Arts.
I began coaching and directing actors about 10 years ago. I can teach any age (5+) and any experience level, though, having been a child actor myself, I connect especially well with kid and teen actors. My teaching methods are rooted in several different techniques (method, Uta Hagen, Stanislavsky) but overall, my approach is one that immerses the actor in their work fully. Our sessions will engage your mind, body, and spirit with the hopes that you will become a well rounded and captivating artist and
I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Carolyn German has been absolutely wonderful to work with. She's a great combination of friendly, yet professional, and brings many years of varied experience to her craft into the teaching experience. She's very easy to work with, I never felt self-conscious about any of what I consider to be my flaws, and she has truly helped me to develop more well-rounded characters, as well as some very much needed self-confidence.
"He's just so fantastic. I'm earning an MFA from NYU and have been dying to start working on voiceovers for years. I found a few nice studios around where
I am living, but none as focused and dedicated to my learning experience as Tyler. I will be training with him for a while ((((:"
"Mr. Patti was a wonderful instructor. I loved how he went beyond the course to provide life lessons and career advise.
During our sessions, he had me
practicing on a professional-style microphone, recorded me performing commercials from scripts, and provided feedback and constructive criticism that helped me to grow as a communications student.
I would highly recommend Mr. Patti to any student looking to improve their voice, their stage-presence, presentations, or public-speaking skills."
"Enjoying the class so far"
"Carolyn exceeded my expectations, she is an amazing coach!"
"After one lesson, I feel excited and encouraged to continue with Bill as my voice teacher...Bill stayed engaged and listened to what I was doing with my v
oice. He then gave simple instruction on how to modify what I was saying after giving an example of himself reading. Although Bill has had years of experience, he shows patience and kindness as an instructor as well as skill. Don't take my word for it, try out a lesson with him!"
"Alex has been great - connecting up with my interests and helping me develop the basics."
"After one lesson, I can tell that Bill is the coach for me. As a coach myself, I value someone who will help me get right to the heart of the problem and
hold me accountable for my own progress. Thanks Bill."
"First lesson with her went really. I learned a lot about voice acting and myself. Thank you for making it a good experience Ingrid."
"Great start to our sessions together. Looking forward to continuing to grow and learn from David's tutelage."
When it comes to the performing arts, voice acting attracts some of the most fiercely dedicated enthusiasts, despite the relative anonymity compared to acting on stage or on screen. In the old days, radio dramas were the most common inspiration for aspiring voice actors. Today, it’s animation.
The key component of voice acting, even more than secrecy and seclusion, is versatility. An in-demand voice actor may be called upon to provide the pipes for a cartoon rabbit in a kid's show on Friday, …
