Private Violin Teacher

I have been teaching violin since 1998. I have an earned Masters degree in music and enjoy teaching students of all ages. I am happily married with 5 children at home--4 of them are musicians as well (the youngest is 4).. Students will quickly learn not only the basics of music theory, but will be playing songs as early as their first lesson. It is extremely rewarding watching students have fun, excel, and fall in love with making music. I presently teach music at 3 schools (1 college) and only have a few lessons slots available. I look forward to working with you.

About Doyle

Hello, my name is Doyle B. and I am eager to help you reach your goals! I've been teaching private lessons since 1992 and have loved helping my students win competitions at the state level, learn how to advance rapidly on their instrument, and fall in love with making music. I have 3 earned degrees from Pensacola Christian College (B.S. in Music Ed., 1992), Hobe Sound Bible College (A.A., 1993) and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Church Music, 1996). I have experience teaching all of the band instruments, violin, guitar, and piano. I'm an enthusiastic, upbeat person who greatly enjoys working with people of all ages. I am presently employed at Hobe Sound Bible College and Christian Academy. I presently have students in New Jersey, South Dakota, Florida, and Maryland, who I teach using Skype or FaceTime. Fortunately,

I have a couple openings in my schedule to teach any one who is serious about excelling on his/her instrument. I look forward to helping you reach your potential.

Private Violin Teacher

Students can expect a relaxed, fun, and encouraging atmosphere for learning. The violin can be an intimidating instrument- you will make a lot of unpleasant sounds before you start sounding great- and that's okay! I'll be there to guide you and help you reach your goals.

If you're already an experience player, you can expect me "workshopping" your technique. We will analyze your form, practice patterns, and playing style, to ensure that you are growing and improving from the moment we begin. I will push you to become the most expressive player that you can become, but at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What young students can expect:

- Preparing for entry into school orchestra
- Polishing up school orchestra repertoire
- Learning new material and scales
- Perfecting their technique
- Preparing for NYSSMA
- Preparing college audition tapes (I do have the ability to record these as well)
- Learning to play with confidence
- Learning vibrato

About Dayna

My classical training began at age 10, when I started to play the viola. From there, I was able to translate my musical skills to violin, guitar, piano, voice, composition, and songwriting.

Originally a biology major at SUNY Purchase College, I quickly became restless knowing that I was unable to focus on music enough. So, I switched it up, followed my passion, and began studying music theory and production. Since then, my life has been focused on teaching, performing, writing, and recording music- and I wouldn't have it any other way!
It's been quite a journey, and I can't wait to share all that I've learned along the way with you.

Whether you are just starting out, or are looking to further the knowledge you already have, I will meet you at where you are, and help you to achieve your personal goals.

Together we can work o

n technique, theory, improvisation, ear-training, songwriting, and more!

Private Violin Teacher

I have been playing the violin for over 18 years and graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education in 2016. My instrumental emphasis in college was the violin. I am a professional violin player and have played in youth, college, and church orchestras, string ensembles, string groups, musicals, plays, choirs, and weddings. I have extensive knowledge and a teaching and performance background to give my students all of the knowledge they will need in learning the violin. The violin is one of the hardest instruments in the world to learn and takes years to master. With the right teacher and the right motivation, the student will be able to master this incredible and amazing instrument.

About Clarissa

Hi! My name is Ms. Clarissa Romero and I have been teaching music for 11 years! I have taught privately, for churches, and for a music school. I also obtained a Bachelors Degree in Music Education (Instrumental Emphasis) in 2016. I have a love and passion for music and aspire to pass down that love and passion to every single one of my students! One thing I love to share with my students is that music is fun to learn! In my experience, too many teachers are rigid in their teaching and not able to see the learning process from a student's view. I always take into account each of my student's views and aspirations along with incorporating an encouraging regimen to help the student learn not only effectively, but to do so wholeheartedly with a love and passion for music. I can't wait to get started with you on our musical journey!

Private Violin Teacher

My violin lessons are customized to meet your specific musical goals, and whether you are an adult wanting to take lessons for the first time, or an amateur aspiring to make music your full-time career, I am excited to work with you. My lessons are rooted in a classical foundation, and I am also open to incorporating contemporary techniques and violin improvisation into the curriculum.

About Christopher

I have played and studied music for over 15 years, performing locally and internationally in a wide variety of solo, chamber, and orchestral music settings. I've had several years of teaching experience, both through my private studio as well as affiliations with local music schools.

While I love performing in a variety of contexts, what I love most is to inspire students and watch them succeed! I have a passion for empowering students to develop their musical skills, as well as to teach them how to have a love for what they do, to problem solve, to have grit, to be disciplined, and to use music to benefit their families and communities.

I started playing piano when I was 8 years old, and in high school I started playing viola. In 2018, I graduated with my B.M. in performance from Cedarville University, and anticipate graduation in

2021 from Kent State University with my M.M. in viola performance. I offer a high level of expertise, drawn from the curriculum of over five master teachers including Peter Slowik (Chicago Symphony), Joanna Zakany (Cleveland Orchestra), Sheridan Currie, Arthur Klima (Cleveland Orchestra), and Jane Jaquith.

Chris was very patient with me. I had special challenges due to be an older student that started later in life. We communicated very well--asking and answering questions. Chris knew how to help me as I am challenged with intonation. He did not let me slide which is an excellent quality in an instructor.

When I had questions or problems that we were not able to figure out between the two of us he went to his instructor to ask. He was not afraid to admit that he didn't know. He respected me as a scientist who had challenging questions.

Overall, I highly recommend Chris as an instructor for viola.

Chris is super knowledgeable, flexible to make lessons work over Skype, and attentive to make sure the lessons are tailored to what I am trying to learn as a growing pianist. I’ve had a great experience, grown a lot, and look forward to more lessons!

I have just finished studying violin and viola at the Royal Academy of Music in London. I have judt returned to the USA and I am a passionate teacher for all abilities. I am keen to work on any styles of music on the violin, whether it be classical or pop. I am a committed teacher that believes the best lessons are when the student is enjoying what they are doing and when they are able to ask any questions and feel motivated.

About Nicholas

I have just finished studying violin and viola at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Garfield Jackson. I have just returned to the USA after four years there. I am open to all genres of music, and I want to teach you what you want to learn! If you want to be a serious violinist, then I have a lot of teaching experience building essential technique, but if you find that you heard a song on the radio you really want to learn, I would be happy to teach you how to listen and work out melodies for yourself. I have always been committed to teaching and worked in several musical establishments in London including the Hap'ning place. Please get in touch if you would like my biography and list of concerts I have taken part in.

In my experience under Nick, I’ve been inspired to make the best music I can. I have played in his orchestra in London, U.K., and I was pushed healthily to a high standard. Nick is a great character and a superb musician. I highly recommend him as a teacher!
August 13, 2019
Nick is a wonderful teacher and concert musician. He has an outstanding technique and musical sensitivity. He is one of the best viola and violin players and also a great conductor.
I cooperated with him in the string quartet since 2016 (London). During our co-operation he has made a huge impact on my playing. I am very grateful I met Nick on my way - a genuine person with a huge passion for music. I would very highly recommend Nick to everyone!
August 12, 2019
Nicholas has been an excellent colleague in our string quartet and an excellent teacher to my daughter. He is very honest and patient and gives excellent advice, structures the lesson very carefully and always creates a positive atmosphere during the lessons.
He focuses on the technique but always led by music. I highly recommend Nick as a violin teacher.

Violin Reviews

"Shahrzad has a way of keeping my 11 y.o. son engaged throughout the entire lesson. He has fun, but at the same time he is being challenged. He practices
without us even asking,. He will start orchestra in middle school this year and I know he will be ready!"
"Humberto was excellent with my daughter in her first class. He was engaging, instructive and so helpful. Excited to continue!"
"Bye! Thank You!"
"Lauren is an awesome violinist. I worked with her in a show and watched her tackle many different styles of music, improvise with other musicians, and col
laborate on new material. I would recommend her to anyone!"
"Very knowledgeable and patient with young children"
"Jill is a wonderful and patient teacher. She taught both of my children (ages 12 & 9) beginner violin. If we weren't moving away, we'd continue taking les
sons from her for as long as we could!"
"Great guy, I was impressed with being able to do a waltz in 30 mins. One of the best teachers I ever had"
"Tatiana has been teaching me to play the violin for a little over a couple of months. She is very patient, and adapts her teaching methods to suit her stu
dents, and to help them do the best they can, at their level, with their instrument. Which, I think, is the best any teacher can do. I am an adult beginner, so I bring some things from daily life to classes (such as tension) that don't belong with the violin... and I appreciate how she works me on each learning goal, while helping me tackle technical challenges. Classes are focused and structured, but flexible. If that sounds like work, it not... Highly recommend!"
"She is the best teacher ever"

Beginner Basics: How to Buy a Violin Online

If you don't have a musical instrument shop near you, or their selection of violins is limited, you may look into the option to buy a violin online.
