Trumpet Lessons in Fenton. Amazing Teachers.

I have twenty years in musicianship as a trumpet player myself and five years of experience in teaching music. Each lesson is designed to cater to the needs of the student and provide them with the skills to advance as a successful musician. Each lesson is customized and the students will learn subjects such as sight reading, ear training, musical theory and more.

I teach beginner trumpet. I can help students learn to read music, play with good tone and technique, learn valve combinations (fingerings), and play from a book or school band music.

Betsy has been teaching trumpet lessons for over 20 years and loves the incredible experience of seeing how dedication to playing trumpet can transform anyone. Every year, Betsy's students participate in Regional and All State Bands as well as the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra. Her students have participated in many summer music programs including Eastern Music Festival, Interlochen Arts Academy, Oberlin, Curry (NAU), and Tucson Brass Workshop. They have won prizes in competitions through the International Trumpet Guild, National Trumpet Competition, and Tucson Symphony Young Artist Competition. Many have gone on to major in trumpet at schools such as Vanderbilt, Arizona State University, Boston University, Yale University, the University of Arizona. Welcome to my profile! Throughout the eight years I have spent as a trumpet player, I have developed a firm understanding of musical techniques that range from classical to jazz styles. I would love to deepen my passion for music by sharing my knowledge with you! Our lessons would consist of learning the fundamentals of trumpet playing, sight reading practice, an introduction to music theory. Beginners of all ages welcomed. I cannot wait to begin our time together!

I am a professional full time Trombonist. At the same time, teaching has always been a big part of who I am - I love teaching. My music career has taken me around the world and back but more than that it has given me a wonderful tool of self expression, and for that I am forever grateful. My band performs regularly in Opera houses as well as coffee houses... Other than the Trombone I do play the Trumpet as well, and I have over 8 years of Piano under my belt. I feel very confident teaching Trumpet up to the advanced level. This is pretty much standard practice within the brass family :)

I have 20+ years of experience playing trumpet and have played in a variety of ensembles (concert band, jazz band, marching band, orchestra, rock/soul). Given my Michigan public school teaching experience, I am adept at teaching all levels of trumpet from beginning to advanced. Our trumpet lessons will focus on the fundamentals (buzzing, lip slurs, technique) but will also cover more creative concepts (phrasing, improvisation).
