Conversation is in my opinion the most efficient method for remembering words long term and also the best method to learn grammar without stress. I am an Italian native speaker and through my teaching style I intend to boost your motivation to continue learning.
Practice makes perfect! My teaching style is based on language living rather than language studying, and while I will provide you with all of the tools to apply the correct grammar rules I encourage you to make mistakes, and learn naturally by being exposed to the language. I am 100% Italian native speaker, and I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge of the Italian language and culture with you .
I enjoy working with Simona. She’s truly dedicated to helping her students achieve their goals. She stresses the basics before moving on to developing a strong vocabulary and structuring sentences. Simona is very personable and likes getting to know you, using this as a good learning tool. Five Stars!

Simona really simplifies the learning experience and shares little nuggets of knowledge every week that are easy to remember and apply. Highly recommend her.
I was born in Italy and lived there for 36 years. I went to school there and I have a Bachelor Degree from one of the oldest Universities in Europe, the University of Verona. Before college, I attended the Liceo Linguistico, where I extensively studied Italian Grammar in connection to Latin, French and German. I can honestly say I master the Italian grammar in all of its structures. I have been working in Customer Service for an American Bank in Italy for the last 10 years. In addition to that, I have been tutoring students of different ages, Elementary School all the way to High School, since I was in college. The subjects I covered were for the most part English, Italian and Math. I was also tutoring adults who wanted to learn English as beginners or improve their conversation skills. I loved my job at the bank, but at the same time there was nothing more satisfying than seeing my students succeed: I have always enjoyed helping people improve their communication skills and improve ...
I was born and raised in Vicenza, an hour west from Venice. My husband is American, we met in Italy and after living together there for 15 years, we decided to move back to the US last Summer. We have two kids, 7 and 4, who are perfectly bilingual. I have always enjoyed teaching English to little kids and adult friends in Italy, so I can only enjoy teaching Italian even more. Although I'm enjoying this adventure in the US, I miss my country tremendously and teaching and speaking my own language is one of the things that excites me the most. I have also travelled Italy and most of Europe extensively, and I love discussing about all the different cultural environments that I've experienced.
I'm a Certified Interpreter in Italian (along with Romanian, French, Spanish, and Portuguese) by the Defense Language Institute Monterrey, California. Since middle school I loved foreign languages which proved to be very rewarding starting with high school when traveling around the world with shooting competitions.
Study groups are welcome at a special rate. Living in Italy and traveling countries on five continents allowed me the affinity of learning more about the culture but also develop preferences for myself.
I guarantee results.
Learning any foreign language opens doors in life whether on personal or professional level, and I sincerely believe that anybody can learn anything disregarding their age; in fact, I have friends who late in life decided to learn foreign languages or various skills that they always wanted to learn, so, I encourage you to do the same.
Before reading about me, I'd like to share up front the honor that my newest student, R., has brought to me by choosing to learn Romanian. Nothing special so far except that he is 100 years old!!!! Yes, you read that correctly: a century old. He is the outmost inspiring person in my life by teaching me that age is just a number and that learning can happen any day if we choose so. R is a medical doctor, a psychologist, a chemist and biologist. Words can't even define how great of a man he is and how grateful I am to learn from him, too. For instance, about a famous language called "esperanto", a language created in the late 19th century.
I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested studen
t who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).
I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.
I believe in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.
I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages (and proper grammar rules which highly reflect on one's education) by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration and health.
I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.

Delia is a great teacher. She has helped me understand what to expect in certain situations and how to ask for things. For example, when I go to order a drink in a special way, or when not to order certain things, etc. She is providing me with very relevant words and phrases that I will use a lot while visiting Italy. This is going to help me a lot. I'm looking forward to our next lesson!

I like to have interesting and fun lessons ... when you want to learn a new language, you have to go back to when you were a kid 😊

I am native Italian and now I am living in the USA.
I acquired my Italian Language teaching skills at DITALS course at Dante Alighieri Institute in Milano. In Italy I taught with great success and obtaining great results to immigrants and asylum seekers.
I really love my home country, Italian culture and literature. I love teaching using both traditional and unconventional method. I think it is very important to set goals together and I will give my best to help the student reach that goal!
I look forward to meeting you and helping you to learn Italian! Scrivimi e vedrai che ci divertiremo parecchio!!
Ciao! Guten Morgen! Buenos dias! Bom dia! Dobar dan!
In my lessons, we start using the target language immediately! As a lifelong language learner (I speak 7 languages!) I have found that repetition is key. Basic words and phrases need to become automatic so the student can build on them to go on to the next step.
Another thing I have noticed through observation is that most conversation, even between native speakers, is pretty basic. Most people aren't discussing nuclear physics over coffee! So my focus is on comprehension and fluency in basic situations.
I am a results-oriented teacher and I believe the best way to achieve results is to have fun! I make it easy for my students to learn and they do learn. The great thing about languages is that anybody can learn a language. Just like you learned English, you can learn another language and you can start using your skills immediately to enrich your life.
I am a lifelong language learner. My early fascination with words and sounds led me to constantly seek out new ways to learn language and perfect my language skills. I moved to Italy after I graduated from college. There, I not only became bilingual in Italian and fluent in other European languages, I made friends with people all over Europe and those friendships are with me to this day.
The best part of learning a language (at least in my opinion) is being able to connect to people in a real way. Sometimes I'll be on a plane going to Europe and people will be speaking all kinds of different languages and I understand all of them. It's an amazing feeling. It's also amazing to be able to read books, or listen to music, in the original language because it really isn't the same!
I am a Joseph Campbell buff. I believe that all of l
ife is a hero's journey and the challenges we meet make us stronger and wiser. The choices we make on that journey can open doors to new journeys and learning a language can open even more doors.
I am a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. My martial arts training has helped me tremendously in my teaching because it has proven to me the value of repetition and drilling in learning any subject.
Anytime you learn something, you are growing, and you are becoming able to connect with more and more people, and I feel like connection is what it's all about. At the same time, teaching has introduced me to some of my favorite people in the world and those people have helped me grow both as a teacher and as a person.
"Andrea is the best. He's personable, prompt, flexible yet clear, a pleasure to work with. He has given weekly Italian lessons to me and my wife in our hom

"I enjoyed today, my first lesson with Delia. She asked questions and listened to the answers. I felt encouraged by her relaxed and flexible teaching style
. She was patient. She waited for me while I took note. She repeated words and concepts that I didn't understand. We had created a learning plan, started to work on it. I feel hopeful I will finally be able to learn Italian. ;-)"
"Giulia is very engaging and will challange you to speak Italian . She was able to quickly assess my skill level and then customize weekly instruction to
meet my needs. She has a kind, patient, and gentle manner which puts the student at ease. I've had several foreign language instructors and classes, Giulia is the best ever!
