I am extremely passionate about writing songs, and proud to be a Billboard international hit songwriter! Over the years, through working with some of the best writers in LA and in the business, I have developed key techniques and processes I love passing on! We will cover: How to hear a topline (melody), how to accompany your melody with chord progressions, how to say what you mean and strengthen your lyrics, originality, how to write what the industry is looking for, and so much more! The best part of this is that it's often a collaboration between myself and the client that helps pull the best possible song out of you!!

About Laura Leighe

International Billboard hit singer/ songwriter - Laura L.'s hit single "Boys Just Wanna Have Fun" hit #5 on the UK Music Week Pop/ Dance Charts, and #27 on the US Billboard Dance charts in the same week! Laura Leighe is also a finalist in the 2017 Unsigned Only International Music & Songwritin

Laura is amazing. We're so fortunate to have come across her here. She's talented, patient, and encouraging of my daughter's singing. She has a gift for bringing out the best in her and challenging her to sing beyond what she knew she was capable of.

So far, I have had only one lesson with Dr. M., the only singing lesson I've had in my entire 66 years of a lifetime. My only regret, is that I did not take them sooner. Dr M. is patient, an expert, and motivational. What more could you ask for when working with a teacher. He thinks he can make a singer out of me; I'll have to trust his judgement. It would be awesome, if he achieves our goal.

I have been taking lessons with Billy since January 2015. I am a total beginner and I really think I have made the best choice ever to pick him as my teacher. Billy is an experienced guitar teacher and a professional player that knows great techniques for beginners. He has been teaching me basics of guitar in a smart way, and at each lesson I feel I learn something new and at the same time I can clearly see how much progress I have made since our first lesson. He has also been teaching me how to read music and tabs which proofed to be extremely useful every time I want to learn a new song by myself. Highly recommended!

I cannot recommend Billy enough. I studied jazz improvisation with Billy for three years, and later returned to study Brazilian guitar and Piedmont-style finger picking with him. I had been playing for more than twenty years when I started studying with him and he not only helped me improve my playing technically and creatively (on electric and nylon stringed guitars) but also expanded my knowledge of theory and helped me develop new approaches to composing and arranging. I am still working with the material he gave me and take lessons from him whenever my schedule allows.

I took Brazilian guitar lessons from Billy for several years. His method focuses on absorbing the many rhythms of Brazil and translating them from percussion instruments to the guitar. Much of his effort is devoted on achieving the elusive Brazilian swing, which non Brazilians need to learn. Billy is excellent in breaking down the rhythms and explaining them. He even has a book out on his method. He covers various Brazilian genres: choro, bossa nova, samba, baiao and more.
Billy also is an accomplished jazz, classical and flamenco guitarist with a thorough understanding of harmony and improvisation. He is very patient and has years of teaching and performance experience. You will be lucky to study with him!

"I was really nervous about my performance of an original pop-song for my concert coming up in school. Things weren't working out with my previous teacher and that's when I found Taylor! She guided me through pairing the music with my lyrics, but in a way that really made me feel confident in what I was making! Taylor is super fun and easy to work with and when we weren't writing... we were cracking dad jokes! XD I performed the song at my school concert and I couldn't have been happier with the result! I definitely recommend Taylor and want to work with her soon again :3"

"Lessons with Jeff are awesome! The songs I write now have a much more interesting sound, rhythm, and structure than they did before AND I’m able to come up with killer harmonies, a skill that was always lacking for me. His methods are easy to grasp and when they do challenge me, he breaks things down and sets a pace that works for me so I don’t get overwhelmed. I always take something valuable and new away from our lessons."

"Triana is a phenomenal songwriting instructor. I had a basic understanding of songwriting when I first took a lesson, and Triana helped me hear my own songs from a whole new perspective. She knows exactly what will improve your song and your writing technique but is also so considerate about staying true your style and taste.

My songs have gone from decent to catchy, fun, and powerful! Anyone looking to get into songwriting or looking to write stronger songs would be lucky to take lessons from her! I can't recommend her enough!"

"I have been taking lessons with Jimmy for years now for music theory, acoustic guitar, singing, recording, and now songwriting. Its awesome to have all those options in one place. Jimmy has a lot of experience when it comes to writing songs and it shows in the way he teaches. He always shows excitement towards the new songs I bring to him, and encourages me to keep writing. He has taught me how easy it can be to create songs, while taking what he has taught me with music theory to push the song to the next level. The best part is when I decide I like a song, he has the ability to record it for me in his studio. This process of recording and listening to what you have created is invaluable. I always look forward to lessons with Jimmy and highly recommend him."
