Typically, I use the Suzuki and Strictly Strings books for beginner students, and I will then advance to etude studies such as Wolfarht and Sevick in addition to the Suzuki sequels for my intermediate students. Lastly, I will add Introducing the Positions, Mazas, Josephine Trott Double Stops, and solo concertos to my advanced students.

About Elicia
I began violin lessons at age five, and was requested by the youth conductor to join the Palm Beach Youth Symphony a year later. For eight consecutive years, I performed with many other youth orchestras and served as concert mistress several times. At the age of thirteen, I auditioned for and joined The Venice Symphony during the 2004-2005 season and was a part of their ensemble for seven consecutive seasons, including the position as assistant principal. In addition to the Venice Symphony, I have also performed with the Sarasota Pops for two seasons, The South Shore Symphony Orchestra as assistant concert mistress and as concert mistress, and Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra. Recently, I relocated to the South Philly and performed with the Delaware County Symphony in Aston, PA, and the Rose Tree Pops located in Media, PA fo
r a ouple of years. Over the years I have had performing experience with violin duets and trios with a classical guitarist on a number of occasions for weddings, Christmas shows, and restaurant events. Some of my performance venues include the 800 Bay Restaurant and Club, the Four Seasons, the Sugarhouse Casino, and the Pyramid Club.

In addition to my musical career, I am also heavily training in the sport of ice dancing. Currently, my brother and ice dance partner, Stephen, and I are 3 time national competitors at the championship level with plans to compete internationally. Through my experience as a performer both in music and on the ice, I can give to each student not only the ability to create music through the violin, but also the mental ability to handle performing and competitive atmospheres.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons offer an extensive education in technique, musicality, music theory, and most importantly, effective practice methods that increase capability and skill rapidly. I tailor my lessons specifically according to the student's abilities and strengths, while incorporating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

After a few months, my students acquire a well rounded knowledge and feel for the violin and classical music and appreciate the art and beauty music brings to life. They are always strongly impacted and inspired to pursue and achieve higher goals and activities.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a living room with a grand piano, two music stands, and seating for parents.

*** Travel Equipment ***
My violin, a music stand, extra music, fingerboard tape, a metronome, stickers, and a tuner. I will expect my student to have his own violin and bow, a case, a shoulder rest, and music, music stand (can be portable), and a notebook for recording lesson assignments and corrections.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical violin, and I have worked with the Suzuki Method, but I am also very open to other methods and schools.

I have been taking online violin lessons with Elicia for two years. I am a full-time phd student, hoping to learn violin in the very limited time I have. I started with almost no background in music and after 40 lessons or so, we managed to get through Sukuzi book 1, the first half of book 2 and a few pieces from Wolfhart. I am grateful for her help in making progress, not only in the sense of being able to play more pieces, but also of cultivating good habits.
I enjoy learning violin with Elicia and highly recommend her as a violin teacher. She is very good at communicating ideas, and I’ve always found her instructions very descriptive and helpful. I would also attribute it to a good understanding of the learning process, since she is often able to anticipate the issues I might have and to make suggestions accordingly.

I began playing the violin 14 years ago and have been teaching it for 12 years. I start beginning violin students from the book "Essential Elements". Once the basic foundations are laid out we move on to scale, etude, and solo books.

About Karla
Karla is a self-motivated and proactive music educator with a solid experience in music performance and hands-on experience in developing and implementing music programs. Guiding, developing, and challenging students to achieve their highest levels has been a successful and passionate experience for her. Karla obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2004 from, with an emphasis on Viola from UMKC. She was a Viola performer with the Conservatory Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra, Bach Cantatas, and a string quartet. Her viola teachers have been Dr. Steven Kruse, concert virtuosos Paul Coletti and Scott Lee, and composer Robert Hagenbuch. At the Conservatory she pursued the violin and took lessons from Paul Hatton of the Kansas City Symphony.

Karla also received her Music Educators license in Instrumental Music from William Jewell Co
llege in 2005. Instrumental Conducting, Secondary Music Methods, Instrumental Techniques, and Educational Psychology were some of the courses that prepared her to become a more knowledgeable teacher. After completing her student teaching at the Liberty Public School District, she pursued her field experience and prepared for her career as an educator at numerous schools ranging from grades 4 - 12 and college students. Currently, Karla plays 4th chair viola with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra and in the past has subbed for the St. Joseph Symphony. She is also the Viola player with Crescendo Trio. They perform 30-35 weddings and corporate events every year. Karla keeps an in-home and downtown studio offering music lessons for children and adults of all ages from beginners to advanced students.

*** Lesson Details ***
The methods I use for teaching primarily depends on the students' style of learning and the level that they are at musically. For beginning students I use a lot of visual and aural techniques and for more advanced students I build on what they already know and challenge them to go further. I am also familiar with the Suzuki method and pop music styles.

*** Studio Equipment ***
- Home studio with keyboard, 1 violin, 1 viola, music stand, music cabinet, seating for parents, wi-fi
- Downtown studio with 1 viola, music stand, seating for parents, and wi-fi

*** Specialties ***
I use the Essential Elements book for beginners so they can learn to read music. I use Suzuki Books for my student's solos. I also use Wolfhart Books to teach technique and Essentials For Strings Scale Book.

I have performed with The Milk Carton Kids, Anais Mitchell, Tony Trischka, and Peter Rowan and currently perform with my progressive bluegrass band Mile Twelve. Bronwyn is a gifted fiddle teacher with an uncommon ability to intuit what her students need and how they learn best. She teaches a broad range of students, including accomplished musicians, but I came to her as a 50-year-old with basically no musical background at all. As anyone who has tried this instrument knows, the fiddle has a learning curve that can be daunting to beginners. But Bronwyn managed to coax me to the next level and the next. She is deeply knowledgeable, patient and has an infectious love of the music. She makes it fun. My sense is that great musicians are not always great teachers. Bronwyn is both. I would recommend her to anyone.

Experienced Music teacher of 2 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of their skills. I specialize in the Stringed Instruments, mostly classical music, but other varieties typically use Scales and Suzuki books and other solo books, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: metronome, tuner, rosin, and other essentials.

About Sakinah
I was 10 years old when I started playing the violin. At the time, I was not able to afford an instrument and wasn't able to borrow one. So I had to sit in class and watch and learn through the book until one was assigned to me a few months later. It was fair to say I was behind. But the way the violin sounded, the rhythm I felt in my heart when I heard various Sonatas and other solos playing I discovered my love for this instrument. My Idol was violin soloist, Joshua Bell. And the first time our class took a field trip to the Kansas City Symphony to watch him rehearse, I worked and studied harder to play like him and ended up perfecting Vibrato watching him. From there, my love and deep understanding of the violin made me want learn more about stringed instruments and in middle school I was taught how to play the cello. Mastering both, I
took private lessons in both middle school and high school. I received 1 ratings in both District and State Championships several years in a row. I have 13 years experience playing stringed instruments. My love for music and wanting to share that love, watching the teachers I had that were so dear to me and pushed me to be my best, inspired me. It inspired me to want to be a Music Teacher and share what I learned on my own and what I was taught. And to help others master the skills necessary to be ALL they can be.
