We will develop solid time, technique, reading, and rudiments. To foster musicality we will focus on critical listening . We will focus on effective practicing to maximize our efforts. We will learn to apply rudiments and stickings around the drums for interesting and dynamic fills. We will play together to focus on listening and ensemble skills. We also have the ability to record our lessons for later review.
About Aaron
In a fun and engaging atmosphere we will develop the tools of musicality. I'm as comfortable with an absolute beginner as an advanced student. I've been a professional drummer and keyboardist for 17 years. The last 13 of these have been touring with Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus.

With a long background in music, but not drums, I studied with Rich for four years and would be still were it not for unrelated physical issues.
There's no one I could recommend more highly, as a drum teacher...as a person. Studying with Rich is not only drum education, it's enjoyable.

I've been teaching contemporary drum set in Orange County for over a decade, and many of my students have gone on to not only play and read notated drum set music with ease, but have continued their studies at arts high-schools and music colleges, with several of them continuing on to the professional world. I use an award winning curriculum used at many music academies and conservatories, and have received accolades for my ability to retain many students for many years. Within the first few lessons, a new student will be able to understand the basics of rhythm and snare drum notation, play a plethora of relatable and cool sounding grooves, and build a foundation that will serve the student for a life time.
