What a beautiful language German is! No wonder there's so many famous German poets, playwrites and composers! And actually German is also very much used in todays international business world! Whether you want to get better grades in school or you just want to be able to have a simple conversation on vacation or apply with a German company, as a native speaker I can help you reach your goals!
Originally born in Germany, Chrissy developed a passion for music, language and teaching early on. Right out of High School she helped her mother, who was an educator at that time, write and stage-manage a children's Musical which found great response from the audience. During her Music studies in the Netherlands she was offered an internship at the local Music School which she gratefully accepted and where she enjoyed her first voice coaching experience. There she was also nominated as one of the most promising young singer/songwriters at the LUX Festival in Nijmegen. Over the years she was blessed with more and more private students in voice as well as piano. During her stay in New York she received the opportunity to work with a Broadway show ensemble ("Dreamgirls") as a Music Director on their different harmonic parts. She's proudly b
een a member of the Music of Oz Studio staff in Crown Point, Indiana since Jan. 2011 and is looking forward to teaching out of her home now as well. Chrissy is crazy about all her students and wants them to succeed! She's very much looking forward to working with you and having buckets of fun! :-)

I am a native German speaker and have been teaching German since September 2011. My students are pre-k -12 th Graders and occasionally adults, mostly Business German. SAT prep for German and German with listening.
I graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in June 2007 with a Master in Education (Arts in Education) degree. During my studies I worked in the framework of the Artful Adventures Program (Museum of Fine Arts in Boston), which provides object - based learning and hands on artistic experiences for elementary and middle school kids. My own research was about “Creative Insight in Practice" and "Acquiring English as a Second Language and Developing Self-Esteem through the Idiom of Art". I have more than a two decades-long experience in painting, drawing, printmaking and installation work. The images I use in my work are mostly based on self-made or collected photos or drawings from nature combined with literature or self-made phrases. I use digital tools in order to layer text, photos and drawings and combine them to a new work.
Photo and text based collages will often merge into drawings or watercolors and these are the starting point for my large scale oil paintings.
Our daughter took to Kerstin right away. She did not want the lesson to end!

Kerstin is a fantastic teacher. She connected right away with my daughter Chloe who is 8 years old and immediately engaged and had her learning German after 1 lesson. She is punctual and professional. I highly recommend her.

She was absolutely patient and was able to work with and engage my son who has a learning disability. She did a great job making him feel comfortable and after only one session I could see his confidence go up as he continued to draw into the evening. She really enjoys what she does and it shows in the way she worked with my son.
German started in my extended family and has gradually become a central part of my life. First I studied German for five years in grammar school. Then I traveled to Germany multiple times, and hosted Couschsurfers from Germany and Austria. My nephews are being raised bilingual in English and German, and I have both native and second language German speakers in my nuclear and extended family. Having this broad perspective on how German fits in the landscape of international communication, I can adapt a students' education to fit their needs whether it be in mastering school skills or learning German for travel, work or to build relationships.
I studied music therapy and music theory at Temple University from '06-'10. Learned a lot. Then again, I learned even more teaching at a school for kids with learning disabilities and working as a traveling street performer. Once you see the world and work with some unexpected challenges, you learn how to open up and knuckle down at the same time!
I am currently a full-time YouTube Creator, sidelining in cover bands and a solo act. Teaching is a big part of what I do online so I see my work as a private teacher as 'research' for the lessons I create. Although I'm firmly grounded in a classical music training, there's nothing you can ask about that I won't try to figure out. My favorite thing about teaching is using unexpected questions to develop new ideas that I then integrate into my original compositions. Check out my intro to the B
lues Raga video if you want to hear a good story about what I mean.
Recently I've had several articles published by the TakeLessons Blog. Check out my most recent post here. http://takelessons.com/blog/how-to-play-acoustic-guitar-like-john-mayer-z01
What is my approach? First of all, I listen carefully, very carefully. I believe it is important for an excellent job to know precisely what my client wants to accomplish. Understanding this is the prerequisite to give good advice, guidance and then, of course, a plan, a kind of strategy to follow in order to reach these goals. There will be a permanent interaction between my client and myself to monitor the progress, eventually speed up the tempo or, if necessary, to slow down. There is no dogma; there is only one main criterion: success.
I spent two decades of my professional life teaching English in Germany, authoring and co-authoring textbooks for the English classroom. During my stay in the US, I had the opportunity to develop curricula for teaching German in public schools as well as private schools and wrote articles in the field of German literature. Undoubtedly, my academic background (MA in German and English and a Ph.D. in the field of education) helps me to provide solid work for my students.

Lessons with Wolfgang S. are always a pleasure. He is highly professional, friendly, and tailored all my lessons exactly to fit my needs and interests. He quickly pinpoints any areas that need help, and offers gentle corrections and suggestions to improve. His teaching methods are always interesting, varied, and fun. I learned a lot not only about grammar and vocabulary, but about German culture, and nuances and history of the language that can only be learned from a native speaker with his teaching experience. His explanations to questions are clear and thorough, and he made sure I understood before moving on. He adjusted the pace to my skills and needs without any pressure. I have definitely improved in all areas since taking lessons with him.

Most highly recommended! I found Wolfgang to be an excellent German instructor for me. As a mature (50+) professional I was looking for a native German with perfect mastery of English and impeccable teaching credentials. Wolfgang fit that description perfectly. He tailored the lessons to my needs and made them fun. Along with the excellent language lessons, I really enjoyed his stories about life in Germany, and especially his hometown of Berlin. Thanks to Wolfgang I am much farther along my journey of learning to speak German.

I work remotely, with a team of eight volunteers and we assist between 8 to 12 children every week. We focus on Common Core English Language Arts - spelling, writing, reading, and Elementary Math. My family and I just relocated to Florida - Tampa this time - and we are enjoying the sun!
My husband is of Japanese origin. Being in an interracial marriage and raising a child in a household where multiple languages are spoken, I truly appreciate and understand the importance of learning about different cultures and languages.
Having tutored for many years and being a language student myself (intermediate Japanese), I know how to keep students interested in learning - and I love to work with different materials such as games, books, worksheets and role play to keep it interesting and motivating. I spend some time in Germany each year and purchase new and stimulating learning materials on a regular basis. If you are interested in beginner or advanced German lessons for yourself or your child, I am looking forward to meeting you, either in person or online!
Barbara is very professional. She is on time ready for the class. She communicates a lot to set proper expectations. She is teaching my 13 years old boy and he is pleased with her way to teach. Keep him motivated during the class. We are looking forward for many more classes with her.

Whenever I begin German lessons with a new student, I provide a brief summary of “grammatical gender” within the first three lessons. This usually involves me comparing the three German words der, die, and das.
While terminology like “grammatical gender” may sound daunting, don’t let that deter you from being able to learn German grammar. With a lit …
