Experienced Piano teacher since 2012: I am available to teach eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation in their piano skills. I specialize in classical, gentle, and theatrical music. I typically use the Faber Piano Adventures series for beginning and some intermediate students, however I will choose a curriculum that fits the student. I supplement the series with works by classical composers or music theme songs from TV shows, Disney movies, or Broadway shows. I also have the following tools available to use during lessons: pianos, sheet music, and more.

Hi! My name is Tamara and I am so excited to teach you piano online!
I have been teaching piano for 20+ years both private lessons and group lessons. I am also a certified School Teacher and I enjoy working with children and adults of all ages and ability levels. My experience teaching Music and Band in multiple schools as well as classes on Songwriting have enabled me to develop some fun music programs for my students. My youngest students have been 4 years old up to 70 years old! It's so wonderful to see everyone's unique talents.
My students really enjoy my classes and they tell me all the time how much fun they have! I believe my personal nature, patience, knowledge of music and teaching, as well as sense of humor connect well with all of my students. I love watching their progress and develop ways "outside the box" to teach them musical skills (i.e. developing games, worksheets, goals for the months ahead).

My main goal is making sure the student is having fun while learning! I cater my lessons around the individual student, because I think that students learn the best doing something they love. I cover the fundamentals - music theory, proper technique, note reading - while incorporating songs and activities the student will enjoy. While every student will learn the basics, I focus in on the student's specific interest during the lesson, whether that's classical music, pop, musical theater, or jazz.
About Nicole
I am a composer, pianist, and vocalist originally from Austin, Texas, currently living in New York City. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in music composition in May 2020, and I am currently pursuing a masters in composition at New York University. Music has

I am dedicated to knowing my students well, in order to give them the best experience. The curriculum that I teach my students (age 3 to adults) is a culmination of my lifelong experience and insights as a student of multiple piano programs growing up, and also my training in Berklee College of Music as a piano principle. As a highly flexible, intuitive and quick-thinking person, I am able to adjust my teachings based on what my students need AND want. After all, I'd like to make piano as a skill for everyone to enjoy, express and heal themselves - that means giving my students technical skills, a certain amount of freedom and creativity in our lessons. My goal is that my students can play famous classical pieces, and train to play the songs they love, also potentially composing their own piano pieces if they like - this will be a collaborative process between the student and the teacher.
