About Raymond (Remi)
I completed musical studies at the Conservatory of Music of San Juan, Puerto Rico and graduated MAGNA CUM LAUDE, with Majors in Musical Education and as a Performing Artist. I am a qualified multilingual Music Instructor. I have performed as a guitarist with several orchestras, musical groups, bands and as classical guitar soloist I have given numerous recitals and concerts. I have worked as a Music Educator at the Social & Pedagogic Academic Institutes teaching pedagogic & didactic principles to teachers and at the same time I have been teaching classical and popular guitar at all levels and ages at several other music schools. I wrote two guitar methods "MELODIC GUITAR" for beginners from 7 years of age and up, which has been translated from Papiamentu into the English and Spanish languages and "MELODIC GUITAR 2" which has been tr
anslated from Papiamentu into English. Although my music background is classical, I play and teach popular music, which I appreciate. Just to mention a few famous guitarists who's styles appeal to me: Carlos Santana, George Benson, Paco de Lucia, Julian Bream. I also teach electrical and acoustic guitar, bass-guitar, piano/keyboard, ukulele, Venezuelan & PR cuatro, songwriting and music theory. Remi is outstanding teacher and mentor who has help me not just on my mechanics but also in my understanding of music and how to move from simple lyrics to create a musical peace. He style of teaching is both technical and creative to keep you entratain while you are developing the necessary skills to become a better musician. Simply a Master
I incorporate a lot in piano lessons such as chords, technique, memorization, music reading, music theory, and more. I like using both lesson books and music that the individual picks out to keep students interest and engagement. I like to incorporate fundamentals of music theory so that they understand how to play music and not only learning to read music. I also incorporate by ear training. I try to keep lessons fun and teach students patience with themselves, as we all have to learn while learning any instrument! I continually help students form good practice habits and show them effective ways to practice.
I am like a proud mama when it comes to my students. I have been teaching online and in person for 8 years now and I have seen all of my students grow and accomplish so many great things. Whether their goal has been to get a main role in a theater production in a theater troup or at school, to create their own songs from start to finish, to perform live with confidence, feel confident and prepared for auditions, winning competitions, or even to just learn how to sing or to play for their own enjoyment. I have seen students go on to win medals at state and world competitions, be on TV performing music or theater, become a national touring musician as a band, release their own music, and open up for famous artists. I've seen my students accomplish all of these things and more with the help of their lessons. I don't only consider myself a te
acher, but a mentor. I help to encourage and push my students to do more than they think they can. I not only teach them the skills they need to learn to accomplish their goals or parents goals, but I help students to develop great habits that they can apply to many other things in life such as practicing efficiently and effectively, and building confidence along the way.
About me: I've been singing since the age of 3 and performing on stage since the age of 6. I grew up around music, as my parents also played and instilled a love of music in me. At age 7, I began to perform with the Columbia School of Theatrical Arts. I choreographed my own dances, which was a part of the show, while also acting. I've always loved all aspects of performing, whether singing and playing or on stage in productions. As I grew older I began to gain more interest in writing my own music, so I formed a band where we created music and played in shows and festivals. I wanted to work on my craft even more, so I went to school to study music and education. I have performed in different cover bands playing at weddings and corporate events, church's, events, etc. Today, I continue to push myself to be the best teacher, musician, vocalist, songwriter and performer I can be and to help my students to be the best they can be and to shine in their talents and abilities. I am so proud of all that they have accomplished and I look forward to helping you, my future student, with your goals!

Lynzi is amazing! She's patient and tailors each lesson to your individual need. She is very professional, but welcoming at the same time. We would highly recommend Lynzi.

Lynzi is very knowledgable with vocal training and an excellent singer as well. I explained issues with my voice and she gave great tips to help strengthen my singing. The main thing is that she listened to my needs and heard what was going on with me vocally. I already hear a difference with my singing after one lesson and doing what she told me to do. That’s what makes Lynzi a great instructor.
Because it has been the greatest source of enjoyment, rejuvenation, and continued growth throughout my life, and I want to share that with everyone I can.
Why should you or your child take piano lessons with me?
Because I offer highly specialized lessons to each student, dependent on their needs and goals so that you too can benefit from a life filled with music. I offer lessons in many styles and supply all students with practical musical knowledge that will lead to full understanding and appreciation.
For young beginner students, students can expect to learn piano basics (note names, chords, etc.) and musical fundamentals, soon moving into learning full songs.
MUSIC LESSONS: Whether I am playing salsa, solo classical piano, in a jazz ensemble, or a concert band, I am ALWAYS having fun doing what I love, and I want you to have the same experience. After moving to Philadelphia ten years ago to study at Temple University, where I received my Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance, I have had many great opportunities to play all types of music with all types of people. While my passions are in jazz music, composing, and arranging, my varied experience helps me pass on the fundamentals necessary to becoming a great musician while also adapting to your goals, needs, and musical preferences.
*** Lesson Details *** I aim for students to leave each lesson eager to practice and explore, and to come back with questions and stories of their progress. To that end, I work hard to tailor lessons to every
individuals interests and goals. Sometimes this means arranging, transcribing a recording, or even composing something new for my students. Additionally, in each lesson, I balance technical skills, ear training, and music theory to assure that each student walks away a complete musician, all structured around your musical goals.
*** Travel Equipment *** The student must provide their own instrument and assigned method books. I will provide a music stand if necessary, and other useful instructional tools (metronome, tuner, etc.)
*** Home Studio *** I offer lessons in my home located within walking distance of Broad Street in South Philadelphia, near the Tasker-Morris subway stop. I am equipped with a well-playing upright piano and plenty of space for musical activities. There is ample street parking in the area during the afternoon and early evening, and our living room is available to parents while students take their lesson. Students who travel to me for lessons gain all the benefits of performing on a piano, rather than an electric keyboard, and have access to many more resources that I am able to offer from my home, such as recordings and method books.
*** Specialties *** I specialize teaching "late starters" (teens and adults new to piano) fundamentals in music in a fun and exciting way that will have you playing the music you love quickly.
For brass instruments, I am able to help brand new beginners build up their sound and facility through simple exercises that will have them astounded by their progress.
MATH: I use my years of classroom teaching and Master's degree in math education as experience to help guide you to the success you are seeking. I am able to tailor sessions to your specific needs with a few key points in mind:
- helping you catch-up, while also preparing you for what is ahead - balancing practice with conceptual knowledge and application - using research-based techniques to maximize your learning
I am a patient teacher, and well-equipped to explain tough topics in multiple ways. I like to use visuals and objects with simple examples to help my students really understand a concept before we try harder material. Total understanding and confidence is my goal for you.
My personal interests in mathematics are problem solving, puzzles, and combinatorics (think "How many different outfits can I make with all the clothes in my closet?"). If you're looking for an addicting puzzle to try, I suggest KenKen to all my students.
Beginning students: learn piano fundamentals with Faber Piano Adventures + supplementary material that I provide
Intermediate students: learn your favorite songs and learn how to write your own songs
MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY My approach is compassionate, nurturing, and collaborative. My teaching style is structured but leaves room for fun. I believe that a student new to their instrument will thrive when they: - have a parent involved in their practice in-between lessons (parents observing the lesson is highly recommended) - have fun while learning proper technique to avoid harmful habits down the road - choose songs that are interesting to them while the teacher picks songs that will help them grow - are given foundational tools and approaches to further lifelong learning as they get older
ABOUT ME I’ve been playing professionally as a pianist/keyboardist for 15 years and teaching for just as long. I have a B.A. in Music from Cal Poly Pomona. I also write, sing, record, and produce my own songs on piano and ukulele. People th
at work with me say that I’m highly qualified, reliable, and punctual.
The student will be instructed on the basics of proper playing techniques, music theory, and musicianship. They will learn to read music and also play by ear which will make them a well rounded player.
About Luther A.
Luther unique talents as educator, instrumentalist, conductor, vocal coach, cinematographer, composer and arranger make him a sought-after teacher. Currently, Luther is working with the Bridgeport Board of Education at Roosevelt Elementary School for President Obama's Arts and Humanities Turn-Around Arts Initiative he is the Executive Director and Program Director of Blackwell's School of Music and Film and Minister of Music Director for New Hope Missionary Baptist Youth Singers.
Luther stays where I’m at and then helps me go the next step. That is useful for consistent gradual progress without the frustrations of moving either too slow or too fast (I am a beginning tenor saxophone player). Nice interpersonal style, patient and easy going, while methodical.
July 10, 2019
I think Luther is great. He works with my 10-year old son on piano, singing and even trumpet and violin as needed. My son has to work hard to progress, and Luther customizes the lesson plan for him and seems to understand him well. I'm really excited about them working together.
Begginer Piano lessons are about scales, technique, chords, and song form.
MUSIC! I think music is the most beautiful thing in the world, so lets take time to learn and play music together. I have been playing the drums for over sixteen years, and been in over fifteen bands in the course of that time. I have a degree in Music from the Berklee College of Music were I studied music theory and focused on Music Production and Engineering. I have been playing Piano, Bass, and Guitar for about ten years in addition to the drums, and have been recorded in sessions on each. I have a deep passion for synthesizers and electronic music, so lets make some bleeps and bloops together.
I am extremely kind, friendly, and funny so lessons with me are very relaxed and have an easy to learn environment. However I am very passionate about teaching to fit student needs; so if a student likes deadlines and homework, if that is w
hat will help them learn the best, then that is how I will teach. Lets make some sweet music together!! ~Eric
Eric is super nice, helpful, and the best part is he didn't laugh too hard when he heard me sing on the recording we were working with! He always works at my pace and is super easy to communicate with. Thanks brother!

"Ms Flenoid was a true professional. She obviously has worked with kids before as she was methodical, yet very gentle and patient in her approach. The st
ickers at the end just completed the great experience. My 4-year old granddaughter (Anaya) totally enjoyed the first lesson. She couldn't stop talking about it with us on the way home, as well as with her parents, after she got home . We are both looking forward to practicing the lessons learned during the session and doing the assigned home work. We are equally looking forward to the next class."
