With my acoustic guitar lessons we will learn everything from A to G (because there is no Z in music) about chords, theory, fingerstyle guitar, sight reading sheet music and much more! From the inspiration of Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, Trace Bundy, Adam Rafferty, and others, we will learn how to master the acoustic guitar. Please feel free to use the "Ask a question" feature! Thank you!

I have been playing clarinet professionally for over ten years. My first performance was a production of "Guys and Dolls," and it opened up opportunities to play multiple woodwinds in all kinds of contexts. I am currently on-call to play with a number of symphony orchestras in town as well.
I am excited to share my passion for this beautiful instrument!

About Michael

I am a woodwind specialist with a degree in saxophone performance from the University of Arizona. I have been performing and competing since the fifth grade. Since arriving in Tucson in 2010, I have performed with dozens of groups, perhaps most notably the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. I play a variet

Michael is an excellent teacher and he was so patient with my daughter (5th grade). She was way ahead of the other students in her class and he found additional music for her to learn so she wasn't bored.

When my 11 year old son first began saxophone lessons with Michael Weiss, he was a true beginner but within 5 months, he was playing a song at a recital! Michael is patient and kind but firm in his direction and has instilled confidence in my son that he can play whatever songs he wants to play with focus and practice. Michael is flexible and adept at tailoring his lessons to the individual's needs. I highly recommend him.

Different styles of an accompaniment - art songs, musical theater, classical sonatas and concert ms for any instrument, pop songs etc

About Alya

Hello everyone! My name is Alya Izumchensky, I was born and raised in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, where I started my piano lessons. I was a very competitive classical pianist in my teenage years in Russia, and have won many regional and national competitions. My favorite composers always were Chopin

Alya is an absolute treasure and we are so happy to have found her!  In addition to being an amazing pianist, Alya has been an insightful and inspirational accompanist for my teenage daughter who plays violin. Alya helped her prepare for several competitions and her feedback and guidance greatly contributed to my daughter's strong performance at those competitions. Alya is also a person of integrity, intestinal fortitude and enormous grit. Just hours before one of my daughter's competitions, she severely injured one of her fingers in a scooter accident but instead of allowing us take her to the hospital, she insisted on playing at the competition with my daughter first! Here is a pianist who injured the most critical tool of her profession, and instead of tending to that, put others first!  In today’s world, these type of people are extremely rare and should be revered. We feel blessed to have met Alya and would strongly recommend her for anyone looking for a talented and caring piano teacher or accompanist!

An experienced and registered Suzuki teacher, my students learn to play violin starting from a solid foundation with emphasis on posture and producing a beautiful tone. In addition to playing the instrument, students can expect to learn reading music, basic theory, music history, and ear training. Learning violin will teach patience, concentration, the value of hard work, coordination, as well as enhancing memory, aural skills, and fine motor control. It was Dr. Suzuki's belief and mine that learning an instrument not only fosters these skills but also helps to foster the hearts and minds of those learning the craft.

About Sylvia

Sylvia Wehrs grew up in Auburn, Alabama studying the violin and piano. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music where she graduated with both a Bachelor’s in Violin Performance and a Master’s degree in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy. Sylvia is very good at taking the time to explain the reasons behind the why of doing certain things. Being an adult with no musical background what so ever she has really taken the time to teach me some basic fundamentals that are helping me build the solid foundation that I so very much want and need. Beyond the time we spend with one-on-one instructions she challenges me with exercises to practice on between our meetings. I explained to Sylvia what I was looking for and she has centered the training and instructions around that to ensure that my goals are being met. She is a pleasure to work with and learn from.

"From the first day I signed up with Ms. Christine, she called me and started asking me questions about my musical goals. All the music classes/lessons I've taken, no one has ever asked me what was important to me musically speaking.

I knew from the initial conversation, there was some "special" about this teacher. It wasn't just the subject of music but Ms. Christine's passion to give and share the gift of music. She explained her music course and her expectations of me as a student. I was given my 1st assignment before we even got started working together face to face.

This woman takes her craft very serious and I highly recommend Ms. Christine to any serious singer."

"An awesome Voice & Guitar Instructor!

My daughter took voice lessons with Gregory around 6 years ago but for us it's as if it was yesterday. We will never forget his amazing spirit and his incredible talent. Gregory is complety connected and immersed in his lessons. He makes his students feel special while at the same time developing their voices. The results are immediate and as a matter a fact my daughters friend which I thought to be tone deaf took a lesson and the transformation was incredible. I can not say enough about him as a person or as a teacher!

He has had outstanding experience with acclimating to every student's needs and learning style. He provides a great environment/atmosphere which is critical to learning. If his credentials don't speak enough, then his personal musical talent should."
