I am experienced in teaching all-level students, including the ones with special needs. I'm truly passionate about engaging & motivating students to learn through music lessons. My goal is to help them ultimately utilize the cello music for their well-being.

I received Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California with minor in Music Education and Master's of Music from Yale University in cello performance.

I am an emotive cellist with two decades experience. I have toured internationally performing my original works including London, Paris, and Berlin. As a member of the Pierce Quartet I regularly arrange and perform music for weddings and other special occasions. I love sharing classical music with all levels of students. Lessons with me are calm, meditative experiences where we use peaceful techniques to enter into the heart of music.

I am a professional cellist with years of performing and teaching.
I attended the Jacobs School of Music for my undergraduate and masters' degrees and was a graduate teaching assistant. I also received my Stott Pilates Teaching Certification while at IU and incorporate postural alignment into my teaching. I have Suzuki certification and work on a strong technical foundation, which both facilitates performing and frees us up to explore non-traditional techniques and other genres.

Most importantly, I strive to nurture the love and passion for music and cello and I am here to help you achieve your musical goals.

Learn to play the cello with excellent technique and intonation. You can learn any style, and teacher will work with you to help you learn to read music on the bass clef.

I provide a fun experience of learning to play and share music. My philosophy in working with students is to curb their interests with my vision for their success with technique and musicality. I want my student to not only become good cellist, but also enjoy music on a theoretical and historical level. My overall goal is to make a connection with people that will last and music can be an outlet for growing as a person.

As a passionate cello player, I want my students to have fun but also really understand their instrument and the music they are playing! Students will learn their scales through the circle of fifths, shifting positions, vibrato techniques, music theory, and performing with an accompanist. They are expected to have fun but to work hard - it’s totally worth it!
