Stephanie offers just the right mix of vocal technique theory / practice and useful marketing insights in her engaging, didactic and entertaining classes. She has also shown herself to be clearly attuned to the specific skills I want to develop professionally and has set up my classes to meet these exact needs. I throughly enjoy the various lesson readings (and the fact that she sends prep work ahead of time), the flexibility she offers for class scheduling, and her overall approach to teaching.
I have been in the acting profession for 35 years - primarily Classical Stage and Voice-Over acting. I have taught on many levels and for different ages including workshops for high school students and university level conservatory programs. I have also taught adults in both Shakespeare and group Voice-over classes (at a Professional Studio). I love what I do and love teaching it to others.
At present, I create, preformed and produced my own audio work and have found that it is incredibly beneficial to learn something new or invest time in a subject or skill that you are interested in.
I am an actress that has performed and taught for over 35 years. I love it! I can help you prepare for auditions, study structure, develop skills, get over fears of speaking in public or simply reach a deeper understanding of your favorite texts.
As for teaching voice-acting for voice-overs, I have extensive experience both as a VO performer and private coach/teacher with students who are currently working as well as those who are aspiring to become professionals.
Each actor/talent has his or her own unique voice. It is my job to help each student find their own path while teaching them the skills nessesary to succeed in whatever their goals may be.
I am happy to share my expertise with beginners as well as seasoned veterans who need to brush up on their skills or prepare for an upcoming audition.
I initially had Corliss as a voice over teacher in a class, then decided to further my work with her as a coach and producer to create my voiceover demos. We covered all aspects of voiceover, including the physical: posture, microphone placement, etc., which I believe really enhanced my understanding of how physicality comes across via the voice. With her classical acting background, she was able to help me improve my overall speaking technique and provided me with vocal exercises to help minimize my regionalisms.
She was diligent in reviewing competitive demos to guide me to a variety of written copy and voice/energy levels that will help my demos stand up to those with more experience. She provided valuable advice regarding selection and use of materials for the demo and beyond as well as insights on the voiceover business.
I’m very pleased with the results of the two demos and expect to continue to take advantage of her coaching services as I grow in my new career.

Corliss is a master at her craft! She makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet her and has a genuine interest in your goals. Corliss tailored lessons to my learning style which was very encouraging for someone with my level of experience. She has a lovely personality and her enthusiasm is infectious. I would highly recommend taking lessons from Corliss!

I took a five-session Beginning Voice Acting class with Corliss in a professional recording studio. The critiques she gave me after every recording I made helped me to speak more clearly, and to increase the energy I was able to put into my recorded presentations. Without the critiques of my recordings, I would not have been able to improve my speaking ability. During the class, she made sure everyone in the class was made to feel welcome, and important. When I take the next level of the Voice Acting class series, I will be looking forward her critiques of my recorded presentations.
I work as a professional actor, voice over artist, and audiobook narrator. We can work on speech for the actor, dialects, how to make a career in the industry, and more!

Practicing with Vandi improves my skills more quickly than practicing alone and she is very good at not only answering questions via the internet tutoring but through phone as well. She is very prompt and consistent and provides easy to read materials for my skill level. I'm very happy with my purchase through Take Lessons so far. This is my first time using this website and it is my third lesson as I am new to piano. I have already recommended this site to other people.

Melanie is an absolutely incredible vocal teacher/coach. I noticed a change in my voice after just the first lesson. Her vast knowledge of the anatomy used to create vocal sounds combined with the techniques she teaches has definitely improved my voice. She taught me how to belt and showed me the difference between my belt and my mix, which was beyond helpful. She also taught me how to sing in my head voice in a healthier and more effective way. And on top of that, she has a mental library full of great song recommendations for my individual voice. Can't wait until our next lesson!

Since I’ve moved to LA, Carlton Byrd is without a doubt the best acting teacher I’ve had. His ability to break down a scene and translate it to actual actable ideas is unparalleled. He is also very encouraging of impulses and creative ideas. Carlton is very personable, supportive, but is also not afraid to push you to bring out your best. He is very insightful of the acting business and will challenge you to set goals that you can accomplish both long and short term. Most important, is that Carlton Byrd is a great human being that cares deeply about acting and his students. If you bring your passion for the craft to the table, he will provide the rest.

I’ve been taking classes with Carlton in my 2 year Conservatory at the at the Lee Strasberg Institute as well as at New Collective in Hollywood and he's hands down one of the best acting teachers I’ve had so far.
Carlton taught me to work harder, think further and make stronger bolder choices and commit to the choices I’ve made in my acting.
He taught me how to dissect a script to have a further deeper understanding of the story, the subtext, the character and their relationships. He taught me how to build a character and the exercises that will help me in the process such as movement work, animal exercise, writing a character bio and so on. He has a deep understanding of vivid behavior and details that will make a scene or a character come to life.
He is a well all-around trained acting teacher and a super hardworking person in general which has a positive influence on your own work ethics and your personal goals.
What makes him unique as an acting teacher is that he is still active in the business himself. So not only is he a good acting teacher but he is also up to date with the industry.
"Very precise attention to detail. Goal-oriented and motivated. Positive and encouraging. Couldn't be happier with my lesson."
"I have been taking weekly voice acting lessons from Bill for almost two months now. I feel he does a great job of helping me find and focus my strengths
while equally addressing and overcoming my weaknesses. Every lesson is well-paced and packed from start to finish with valuable training and advice, and on top of that Bill is just fun to train with, I am looking forward to the lessons yet to come. Highly recommend."
"David Tom is literally one of the nicest people I have ever met. He went far beyond my expectations and it pains me to have to end classes(unforeseen cir
cumstances) although I have a feeling this is not the last time I will take class with him. He is a Fantastic teacher but also a friend and I believe his method of teaching will greatly improve anyone that is seeking to improve their skills. Thank you so much David, until next time."
"My 16 year old daughter has been taking online lessons with Kelsey for 2 months now and it is all she talks about!!! She adores and respects Kelsey as a p
erson, a teacher and a career coach. Her confidence level is increasing and this in itself makes me thrilled to have made this inverstment in her. Therapy sessions are great, however, when you are able to find a coach and instructor that helps your child find their inner confidence and heart song through something they love, well, there is nothing better than that! Thank you, Kelsey! As we all know, it is not just knowing how to do it or even doing it - execution style is everything and you have sincerely won my daughter’s heart!"
"Ingrid is tons of fun to work with! Very high energy and skilled instructor, pushes you to be your best, and she truly cares about her students' progress.

out on my own. Andy is personable, conversational and I felt very comfortable with his lessons. He understood exactly what type of class I need. I highly recommend him."
When it comes to the performing arts, voice acting attracts some of the most fiercely dedicated enthusiasts, despite the relative anonymity compared to acting on stage or on screen. In the old days, radio dramas were the most common inspiration for aspiring voice actors. Today, it’s animation.
The key component of voice acting, even more than secrecy and seclusion, is versatility. An in-demand voice actor may be called upon to provide the pipes for a cartoon rabbit in a kid's show on Friday, …
