About Lisa C.

I couldn't ask for more in a teacher. I am a newbie to the cello and Lisa made me feel very comfortable and also, her teaching style is very clear, logical, starting with the basics and building step-by-step. She has a good sense of humor, too. All said, after only my first lesson, I think my learn a new trick: playing a song or two on the cello. Deb Bisacchi, MEd, MSW

About Meghan
I started playing piano when I was five years old, and began violin at age seven. I played both for several years, but grew to love the violin (probably because we don't have to read two staffs!) Originally from Houston, TX, I went to a performing arts high school and was involved with three youth

Now, it has been one month, and I enjoy his classes. His analogies and examples are an apt way of understanding the techniques of playing the violin. Though Dr. Dimitry is an advanced violinist, he is very patient with absolute beginners. To sum up, I would highly recommend him to people who are very serious and determined to learn and practice the violin.

Enjoyment and engagement precede technical study— always!
Why are you drawn to this instrument, piece of music, or performance situation? We will study all of the things you’d expect: scales, exercises, études, and repertoire. But I like to think I add more value than the notes on the page. And learning to play an instrument is all about reflecting your joy of playing it to the world! Precision is necessary but first is passion. This is why we always begin with enjoyment and engagement.
I consider the whole person I am teaching. I like to approach playing any musical instrument with the whole mind and body. You’ll learn how to most naturally hold and play your instrument with as much ease as if you were simply walking down the street. Only with ease can we play these instruments for life!
About Amy
Without any musical training at age five my gut told me that I had the innate ability to understand music & that I would make music for the rest of my life. This thought has become my truth. It is this truth that drives me to inspire & teach others in cultivating their own musical truth. Some wa
