Geometry Lessons in Mound. Amazing Teachers.

Math is my FAVORITE subject! In these tutoring sessions, you will receive help with homework, prepare for tests and quizzes, and better your overall understanding of math. I teach with patience and fun because I feel that this is the key to achieving goals and inspiring a good work ethic.

During your first session, you should expect to understand the foundations of mathematics. Students will also learn the skills on how to master a textbook, and how to use creative ways to retain information.

I taught Math at CPS and in the North Suburbs of Chicago. I believe, my strengths are patience and the ability to explain material in a clear, simple way.

I am an MIT tutor specializing in math and science, and I have taught math anywhere between pre-algebra and calculus (including geometry) for 5 years. I have received perfect scores on both SAT Math, ACT Math, and SAT Math Level 2 (SAT Subject Test). I have taken AP Calculus BC while in high school, and I have taken Multivariable Calculus and Differential Equations at MIT, and I actively participated in many math competitions through elementary, middle, and high schools.

Before the lessons, I like to talk with parents, students, and/or teachers to fully gauge what they have been struggling with and how to best help them. Then I identify the student's gap in knowledge while helping them complete their homework and give them additional drilling problems as needed to help them fully master the materials and do well on their tests. I've tutored Geometry over the past 7 years. The scariest part of Geometry is proofs. However, even though proofs seem impossible, it is possible to break them down into manageable pieces

In Spring (2011), I had a Beverly Hills High student perform a near impossible feat: succeeding in Geometry beyond expectation. He had 3-4 weeks left to his finals in Geometry and his previous scores were lower than passing scores, with at least 3 quizzes left and 2 tests before the final. He developed a review plan where he studied small pieces of information (including the difficult ones) over short periods (30-45min) spaced out during the day and week. The outcome was desirable he moved 4 letter grades up in 4 weeks and managed the previous elusive A! score in his second to last test. This is not beyond anyone yearning to succeed.I have also assisted Pali High,Culver City High and Milken Community High students succeed in geometry in preparation for algebra.
