About Kendra
I have been immersed in music and the arts since before I can remember. The more I experience music, the more I want to share my knowledge and talent with people of all ages, from five year old kids to grandparents, complete beginners to professionals.
I believe that every person has a story, and no matter how small or big, music always plays a part, so here is my story.

I was born in the United States, but only lived here for 4 years before moving overseas to a country called Azerbaijan, where I lived with my family for 14 years. In Azerbaijan I studied at a private music and ballet school under the instruction of many well known Russian and Azerbaijani professional musicians, while also learning the language at the same time. After becoming fluent in Azerbaijani I continued to study music at home with my mother. She is a profes
sional flute player, but I chose to learn guitar and singing from her while still keeping up my studies in dance. At the age of 15 I had already performed singing and dancing on television and the radio many times.

When I turned 17 and graduated from high school I spent six months in Australia, Sri Lanka, and India, working with a non profit organization performing tsunami relief work. In India I also gained experience in teaching music and dance to large crowds of little children at the schools, orphanages, and relief camps I visited. Seeing the joy and life that these simple music lessons brought these children is what inspired me to continue studying music and begin teaching.

I turned 18 in 2005 and moved to Seattle to study music at Seattle Pacific University. I specialized in vocals and music technology, while also teaching lessons on the side in both guitar and vocals. During my four years in Seattle I played in several bands, and really developed my skills as a song writer and recording artist. After graduating with my Bachelors degree, I moved to San Francisco in 2009 to pursue my music there and teach children and adults of all ages.

Now I live in Venice California with my bandmate and fiance, where we are signed to one of the top management companies in Los Angeles. It was hard to leave my students that I had in San Francisco, but I am looking forward to having new students to teach and share my passion of music with here in Venice.

*** Lesson Details ***
Music is a universal language, and knows no age limitations, like wise I enjoy teaching students of all ages, 5 years old and up. I believe that music lessons should be challenging and fun, weather you are looking to take lessons with a specific event or goal in mind, or you simply woke up one morning and decided today is the day for you to learn something new and exciting. Depending on the students abilities and personal goals, I create a unique curriculum plan for each individual, and adapt my own teaching methods to the needs of the student. I am a positive and outgoing person, and I use encouragement and hard work on my own part to motivate my students. I have experience in all different genres of music, and I guarantee that after taking guitar or vocal lessons with me for only 3 months, you will have gained confidence and improved leaps and bounds from where we started.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Home studio--- Private magical bungalow right off of Abbot Kinney, equipped with instruments and recording gear.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide a learners guitar, ukulele, and percussion instruments if the lessons are at my own home, otherwise I expect the student to have access to their own musical instrument. For vocal lessons I have various levels of music and songs for every genre, as well as microphones and small amps for rock lessons.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in vocals and song writing, I have professional experience performing and teaching vocal styles from classical to contemporary, opera to rock.
I also specialize in teaching beginning to intermediate guitar and ukulele.

Lovely and wonderful!

Kendra is a wonderful instructor. As a woman trying to attain goals I made since I was a child, Kendra has done everything she can to instruct and teach me piano/music that is relevant to my objectives. She has taught me much more than just reading music and touching piano keys. It's been lovely to see her every week. I look forward to our lessons. Thanks so much Kendra!

grandmother to Lily

Kendra continues to be the highlight of the week for my 7 year old grand daughter Lily. I gave Lily singing lessons for Christmas, and she continues to get a gift each week as Kendra helps her make progress in a very positive and gentle way. Kendra keeps things moving with new songs every session and even changes things up with some keyboard techniques to support Lily's beginning to read music. This singing time with Kendra has been a wonderful overall experience. She is the BEST!

She has a great talent

Kendra, it is teaching my twin 7 yo daughters. piano and guitar. We had try several teachers that are great musicians with good intentions to teach but, Kendra by far has the most talent with young children. She is being a big inspiration to my children and they are learning and playing without an effort. That is Kendra's gift to keep them interested andconfident. Our time flies every time Kendra comes. Please feel free to ask any further question.I can not recommended her more.

About Jonathan "JC"
Hello! Bonjour!
The way I teach is simple and fun! I am patient and dedicated to your success.

My name is Jonathan. I am a 34 year old French-American man living and working in Minneapolis Minnesota. I have +15 years of expertise as a professional photographer. I will be your teacher today.

I am a husband and step-father who moved to Minnesota in 2015 to live with the wife Sophia and 2 kids: Blake and Samara, 16 and 14.

Photography is my full-time job. I also practice traditional Sunyoga meditation as a teacher, and acupressure therapy. I have participated in healing cancer patients and all kinds of diseases in 4 different countries (USA, France, Serbia, India).

In 2015, before I moved to the USA, I was the President of a Non Profit Organization called Sunyoga France, French branch of the main NPO from India called UNIVERSAL
PEACE CENTRE, for scientific and spiritual research, agriculture, clothing, taking care of orphans and elderly people, with a health center and an education center.

Our 7 humanitarian programs focus on creating a Self-Dependent and Sustainable Global Family Home University. As we speak we have people from 14 different countries working together towards that goal.

I am now working on creating the American branch of the association. It will be called SUNYOGA AMERICA.

WHAT ABOUT TEACHING? Everybody wants the best. I believe QUALITY is the most important. I also believe each person is UNIQUE and should be treated in a unique way with unique lessons. To be clear I am not into industrial stuff. I am into a personalized and genuine approach which in my experience saves a lot of time and is way more efficient.

What comes first? Question or answer? When we arrive on our first day at school do we have final exams? First the teacher shares some knowledge during class. Depending on the teacher's talent, passion, and love for his work, the students will learn something. Then only we have exams.

Hopefully Wisdom will come out of this process. All we need is a little support to all grow together.

Teaching is a big responsibility. Parents and teachers, it is our duty to teach the best. Let's do our best together. Thank you.

As a photographer my motto is
ENLIGHTEN YOUR EVENT, BRING LIFE TO YOUR STORY
I hope the choice of words reflects my philosophy

I am a graduate of UC San Diego (bachelor of arts, sociology) and UCLA (master of public policy). As a child of immigrant parents, I value diversity and love learning languages. I read, write and speak Spanish fluently, and have intermediate command of both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese in reading, writing, and speech.

Photography has been one of my main areas of focus for over ten years. I am trained in both film and digital formats and specialize in demystifying the DSLR so that you gain a good understanding of manual settings and how to use each to improve your photos.

Caring, compassion, and understanding are essential for learning and I strive to do my best in these areas.

About Bailey
I am currently the Visual Arts Teacher as well as the Director of Advisory at Northside Charter High School in Brooklyn, NY. I have helped develop the school’s culture significantly over the past five years I have been there.

My mission at Northside Charter High School was to create a curriculum that shows our students that their presence is essential to the ever-changing arts community. This led to creating the curriculum for Northside Television, which is Northside's first web-based school news network. NTV has grown to become a staple in Northside’s community and has brought about positive changes to the culture of the school. My master's thesis based on this course entitled, “Media Production and its Role in Preparing High School Students to be 21st Century Learners”, provides data on how our program has brought new skill-sets to t
he senior cohort. Students of all backgrounds are on the screen and are representing their community, their ideals, and their concerns.

Due to the success of our program, PBS chose Northside to become an official NewsHour Student Reporting Lab. CNN Director and three-time Emmy award-winning director, Luanne Dietz, mentored our seniors. Students also have the opportunity to utilize PBS’s resources by offering them internships and personal recommendations.

I’ve also worked in conjunction with local Brooklyn galleries such as the RAM Gallery and 630 Flushing to provide Portfolio Development students with the opportunity to display and sell their artwork.

She is a well versed artist with many different skills, though where she shines is in drawing which has helped me in my understanding in the concepts of light and shadow, gesture and figure drawing, as well as how different strokes and the effects they carry, whether using graphite, charcoal, pastels, and other mediums. It all came to use in my college application process for developing my portfolio as I was accepted into a variety of colleges and universities across the country

Ms Goldenbaum has been by far the best artistic navigator. Not only has she taught me how to stroke a brush, she taught me how to really tap in with my mind and become one with the art itself. If it wasn’t for Ms Goldenbaum, I wouldn’t know as much as I do now about things like abstract art , water colors and primary colors. Shouts to Ms G!

I am a Work Force manager for Chewy.com- The majority of my time is spent teaching analysts how to use Excel to plan and schedule/forecast and audit many different programs.

I did not have any formal teaching, and was forced to learn excel the hard way by researching online, so I feel like that makes me a good teacher to learn from because I truly understand and can explain the major uses of excel. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have!

Hello! My name is Matt! I love teaching technology, whether it's setting up a Minecraft server on a Raspberry Pi, Cool hacks and shortcuts on mobile devices, or simply, how to be better with securing your information.

I have spent 10 years travelling the United States, teaching people how to understand regulations regarding IT security (HIPAA), as well as how to make their day better! When I have done training presentations, I love to give "real word examples" that keep people interested, such as showing people what an actual computer virus looks like. I strongly believe that training needs to be fun and entertaining, to be successful! I also cannot emphasize the fact that I am fully aware that people may need to ask questions that they may feel is "dumb". No such thing. I have spent years teaching nurses, where a lot of them do not ha
ve a lot of technical proficiency, but we have to keep in mind, I can fix a server, they can fix a human! I have taken the task of learning Python on my own, and finding real world examples, have been instrumental in learning, and others I have shared with that has had the same success.

I also believe in transparency. I will only teach what I am confident in. My lifetime has been spent trying to learn everything I can about all the area's of IT, I have become very confident in a lot of areas. If I do not know the answer to something, I find it. I get immense satisfaction in being able to help someone either learn something, they have really been struggling with, or fix something that no-one else has been able to do, and all that, with some laughter and smiles!

In all of my training's, I teach people very good ways to use resources to continue/maintain the area's that you are trained on.
