Jen has my daughter very excited about her lessons. I am grateful seeing that during this pandemic she has had little to look forward to. It's also great that she's now giving lessons in person, which is much for my daughter.

Nick has done a great job with our 14 year old son! He has a great laid back style that is appreciated and keeps the lessons fun and engaging. Not only is he learning to play some of his favorite songs, but he is also getting ear training, music reading, picking, chord building, etc. We would highly recommend Nick!
Rachel
I would very highly recommend Nick as a guitar teacher. I've been taking lessons for five weeks and he has already helped me a lot with my technique. He has a great combination of the knowledge of a professional musician and also the patience and guidance of a very experienced teacher.

I also like that he is helping me with ear training. I've had previous experience with reading music, but he is really expanding my horizons with listening to music and trying to figure it out by using basic principles. This is a way to learn that I hadn't experience before in guitar lessons in the past, and I think it's a great way to learn.

I'm looking forward to many more lessons to come. This has really helped me to enjoy playing the guitar again!

Guitar Lessons
My teen daughter has been wanting to take guitar lessons for the last 3 years. Looking over Mr. Russo’s extensive qualifications, gave me pose in hiring him, after all she was so new she did not even know how to old a guitar, I figured he would be over kill. That plus the fact that he seems to tour a lot made me concerned that, once the pandemic receded he would be back to touring extensively, leaving us to find another teacher. I am glad I decided not to let my fear guide my decision because, he really is an excellent teacher. He put my teen who is people shy at rest, now you cannot tell her she is not the next Joni Mitchelle in the making. One of her favorite things to do after each of her lessons, is to FaceTime me(she is in boarding school) and enthusiastically show me what she is learning.

I believe that learning music should be as fun and inspiring as it can be to play, and the Ukulele is a great first instrument for people interested in learning to play any stringed instrument.
Its small size makes it easier for little fingers to handle, and the low-tension nylon strings are more comfortable for beginners to press against the fretboard. Plus, it's portable, so you can take it just about anywhere!

We all have a vast wellspring of creative energy within us, and the goal of the relationship between the student and the teacher is to help nurture and develop that latent talent. For this reason, my approach to teaching music is highly individualized. I start out with the premise that the student has unique gifts and my job is to help them discover what those are, and develop and refine them in order to make beautiful and deeply satisfying music, through whatever instrument and in whatever style they are drawn towards.

Depending on one's starting level of ...

Taking lessons with Sean has been fantastic. He is very kind and mellow, but also pushes enough to show that he has faith that you can get better! He's a great teacher. I can not believe how serviceable my playing has gotten in just a couple of months! I tried for years to just pick it up on my own and never got past a few basic chords. Over these weeks the guitar has made more sense to me and I am able to have a lot of fun with my voice, playing and singing songs I love. Just great!! Highly recommend.

Sean is a great teacher. Very patient and easy to be with. If you’re like me, wanting to learn new things and fun new techniques every week, but without pressure, Sean is perfect.

I had some technical issues, including no voice, no picture, Echo, sound break up… definitely would not recommend to do on the phone, even with wifi. Good to have second monitor to be able to see instructor on one and online piano keys on the other display. In the end we worked out the glitches and got started. Sean was patient and very helpful. This will be fun.

Zelda is very encouraging instructor. I could see lot of improvement in myself. Thanks to her, I have not only improve my accent, but also helped me to gain confidence to go out and speak with Native speaker .
Randy D.
My sessions have been nothing but fun! I started playing the ukulele to relieve stress and classes with Zelda has made that possible. Going over chords, correct finger positioning, tempo, and playing popular songs has been exciting and I don't feel pressured. Each lesson is created to match my pace and gradually becomes more difficult as I improve. But, her instruction allows me to pick up the new skills with ease. Since taking classes, I feel I finally have a outlet to relieve stress from work/family through the rhythmic sounds of my ukulele. I would highly recommend this instructor for novice or veteran music lovers.
Kenneth C.
As a beginner, Zelda makes lessons fun. She has a great singing voice as well. But she really helps to breakdown the components to make playing the Uke. From rhythm to strumming to chords, she helps make it easy and a real joy.

When I came to Francesca I had zero musical background. I wanted to learn to play the quitar so I could sing to my first grandchildren ( twin girls) coming in February. By my forth lesson I was playing 'Yellow Submarine ' by the Beatles! Francesca truly has a gift for teaching music. She loves it and loves sharing her knowledge. I leave my lesson with a smile every week."

What is a Concert Ukulele, and How is it Different?

There are many differences among ukuleles. Some of those differences are small and some are quite noticeable. Even among the same style of ukulele, there are slight differences such as material, construction, neck length, body size, and neck width and circumference. Yet, there are definable characteristics for each style that puts an instrument squarely into a category. A soprano ukulele is the smallest of the ukulele family. The concert ukulele is the next size up, and the tenor ukulele is …

Should I Use a Ukulele Pick? What You Do & Don't Need

To “Pick” or Not to “Pick”? Many students ask when first learning ukulele, “Should I use a ukulele pick?” I usually respond by asking questions about the particular styles they are interested in playing and try to get a better understanding of the sound they are trying to produce. Certain styles are more conducive to picking than others and other styles work better with just fingers and no pick. Whether or not you choose to use a pick is dependent on a few things: the style and …
