About Anna
Hi, my name is Anna. As an orphan, I grew up in Hungary in a foster home. At a very young age I was already exposed to music. It kind of blew me away. I didn't know how something could be so beautiful, and it was like a miracle for me. Then and there, I knew that something special was waiting for me ahead. When I was 3, I didn't talk for a long time, but I did do one thing: sing. At that point my life has totally changed. I began my long journey. My foster parents got me into a music school, called Janos Patzay Music School. I knew immediately what I wanted to be. I built my whole life on music. It always filled up a very special place in my heart, it still does, and it always will. I started to learn the violin when I was 5 years old. Being in a music environment always gave me strength, made me feel safe, and made me stronger as a perso
n. I decided to learn more, and to grow, I must never give up on my dreams. After elementary school, in 1998, I went to Bela Bartok Music High School, and graduated in 2002. I continued studying music at the University of Miskolc Bela Bartok Institute of Music trough 2004-2008. Those four years were some of the best years of my life. In college, I changed my major to viola instead of violin. I am never going to forget the day of my diploma concert (April 27,2008, Sunday). It was wonderful. All the hard work and studying got me here to this point. I had no family being there for me all these years, nothing really, only God and music. Knowing the fact what I wanted kept me going in the hard times. In 2003, I met with a pastor from the United States who were on a mission trip in Hungary, in the orphanage I lived. Nothing can describe it, not even words what we had. I felt like I always knew her. I used to say I was born in a wrong place in a wrong time. After my diploma concert she and her husband adopted me. Today I am able to say that I have a family, a real family with true love. So, I came here to study English (ESL) at the University of Minnesota for a year and a half. Not having time for me to practice and not have music around me for a little over than a year, it made me really sad. I was depressed, and I thought I am going to get crazy. Music was totally cut out from my life. In 2009, I finally had my music back. I was enrolled in Crown College for 2 years. I attended the school's chamber orchestra and quartet, and I also attended other classes as well ( English, drawing, painting, and piano). I have been in different chamber groups through all of my schools (duet, trio, quartet, symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra). I also studied how to teach violin ( teaching techniques) for four years in college. I observed teaching methods at the Beni Egressy Music School once every week. In my fourth year of college, I was also teaching little ones, and after my diploma concert I also had to do a diploma teaching.

I live in Shakopee, and I've been married for six years now. I made a little music studio in my home, that's where I teach most of my students. I have a couple of music stands, and I have my own instruments (violin, viola). I will be able to teach in Shakopee, in Victoria, and on online. I would be teaching from published repertoire, and my own as well. I would be more than happy to answer any questions as it appears. I'll be always available at my email. (bubumaci.anna@gmail.com)

It was a long and hard journey, but I never gave up. I became what I wanted to be, what I always dreamed of. With God's love and with music, everything is possible.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a kind of teacher (person) who is more laid back, make sure everything and everybody is comfortable, yet challenging and expecting good work. I like to make a lesson be worth it: as for me and as for the child. I use a combination of fun and work together, because I think it's important for the student to feel relaxed and also have a good time.
I am really patient with my students, while helping them master new songs and techniques. I understand that every student learns in a different way that is unique to them, and I will do my best to discover each student's learning style. I do not ask for perfection, but I do drive them to do their best. This is my motto: "Do the best you can", and "Be the best you can be".
I am a classically trained musician, and I believe that it's really important to have a strong foundation of learning the basics: reading notes, rhythms, a little bit of music theory etc. Everything else builds on this, for example, like learning and playing different styles or genres in music. You have to know the basics in order to be able to play them.
In each lesson, I will have assignments for the students to work on throughout the week: 1 song for 30 minute lesson, 1-2 songs for 45 minute lesson, 2-3 songs for an hour lesson, and I will always ask for a specific scale at the beginning of every lesson. How fast or slow we can move forward, and how much we can learn it's really depends on the students. These assignments will be showed first (I'll play it to the student), then we work on them together. I'll make sure they understand what I am showing and telling them before leaving. I will also have technique exercises, and music theory sheets for students.
I take practice very seriously. The amount of time I recommend is varies according to the student's age and skill level.
Students will have a recital once a year. They will show what they have learned through the year. I also encourage students to share their talent in community and school talent shows, at church, at family gatherings, and for friends.
Note: I do have cats in my home. If you or your child has a problem with cat allergies, I can teach in Victoria, give lessons in our church.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The In-Studio lessons are taught in a finished basement which has been converted into a studio. Music stands and seating available.

Fellowship Church: Lessons in sanctuary.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Student should provide their own instrument, music and stand

*** Specialties ***
I primarily perform classical, so I would be most comfortable teaching the classical repertoire.

Anna has a wonderful rapport with our son. This, I'm certain, has greatly improved the quality of the lesson and his willingness to practice. In the very short time (year and a half) that he's been taking violin, he is playing better than many of the longer studied kids in his string orchestra at school, due to the tutelage of Anna.

We have been very impressed with Anna and have also received feedback from our son's orchestra instructor that she must be fantastic based on the progress our son has made over the last school year. Thank you, Anna, for all of the encouragement and instruction you've given to our son.

About Alex
Hey, my name is Alex. I'm a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, keyboards, voice, drums, flute, etc.), composer, performer, recording artist, arranger/orchestrator/transcriber, recording engineer/producer & music educator.

I graduated from the University of St. Thomas "Cum Laude" in 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Guitar Performance, with minors in Music Production & Composition. While attending St. Thomas I served as the Music Theory tutor, as well as the live sound/stage/light/recording technician for student & faculty recitals.

I have been playing professionally & teaching for over a decade. My passion for music is something that I love to share with anyone else who feels inclined to make music. My goal is to share the skills & knowledge I've acquired throughout my experiences with those willing to learn & dedicate themselves
to the craft of making music.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am experienced in most major genres of music: classical, jazz, blues, rock, funk, folk, metal, acoustic fingerstyle/slap, instrumental rock, "shred," pop, world music, electronica, etc. & feel comfortable conveying the techniques, approaches & idioms to a student by breaking them down into digestible components, while making these new ideas relatable to material they are already familiar with.

In the end, I want the student to learn what they're most interested in learning. I'm here to answer any questions they may have & with my experiences, I feel confident that I will be able to either answer these questions or point them in the right direction. Some topics covered:

Scales/modes
Ear training
Instrument-specific techniques (ie bending, tapping, sweep picking, etc.)
Songwriting & Composition
Arranging & Orchestrating
Sight-reading
Improvisation
Chordal theory & how to read charts
Practice routines & approaches
Instrument maintenance
Instrument-based gear (guitars, amplifiers, effects, picks, slides, capos, etc.)

The student will learn at the pace they set for themselves & can only get out of it the amount of effort they put forth. I expect my students to practice on a regular basis (however brief each session may be). Consistency is key for progress to be made, & if they hold up their end of the bargain, the payoffs will be quite substantial!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Practice amplifier, tuner, music stand(s), guitar picks & cables.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide guitar neck paper. I expect the students to have their own instrument & any materials they may need to achieve the goals they've set for themselves (such as a weekly notebook).

*** Specialties ***
Progressive rock, classic rock, blues, jazz, funk, disco, classical, acoustic fingerstyle/slap, flamenco guitar; music theory, sight-reading, composition, songwriting, film scoring, music production.

I took beginner's guitar lessons with Alex. He took into account what my playing goals were, stylewise and whatnot. He's super knowledgeable on musical subjects besides just guitar. I've come away feeling that I have good foundational knowledge to build upon as I progress in my playing. I had the five lesson package, which I felt suited my needs. Tip: If you do something like that, space out your lessons at least every other week, so that you have time to practice and grasp what you're learning. Be sure to ask questions if something is new to you, especially if you're a beginner. I highly recommend guitar lessons from Alex!

Hi! My name is Amanda and I have been teaching private lessons since 2002. I teach both French Horn and Piano lessons in my home studio or at your home. I believe that everybody learns differently so there is no "cookie cutter" lesson plan with me. Your lessons will be tailored to your musical interests and style of learning. Young beginning piano students can expect to learn theory through games and coloring projects for example. I strive for a dynamic studio so that all involved have fun learning.

I am also a registered Wunderkeys instructor. Wunderkeys is a piano method specifically designed for preschoolers aged 3-5 years old. Using pictures, rhymes, singing, games, and more, lessons are so much fun that students don't even realize they're learning! Children don't need to have any musical background or knowledge to learn with the W
underkeys method.

I hold a Bachelors degree in French Horn performance from the University of MN-Duluth with piano being my secondary instrument. I also hold a Master's Degree from Wichita State University. I held the position of Assistant French Horn in the Wichita Symphony and have freelanced and subbed with numerous orchestras and groups in the midwest including the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra.

About Chris
Hello! My name is Chris Fleming and I've been teaching drum lessons for approximately 5 years, as well as professionally drumming the past few years. I myself have played drums for 9 years and built up a solid "curriculum" of sorts for teaching students due to the very professional lessons I was given during my musical development years. I have taken lessons from Steve Goold (drummer to Sara Bareilles, Owl City, Carly Ray Jepsen, and Ben Rector,) Zach Miller (drummer to Jason Gray and Sara Groves,) and many other qualified teachers.

Stylistically, I am qualified to teach students pop, rock, country, folk, funk, worship, gospel, Latin, and some jazz. I strive to teach my students the importance of understanding the art behind music and the drum kit's role in that, and give them the necessary exercises and practices to achieve their goal
s with their instrument. I have my students tell me their goals and I then develop a plan of action to allow them to satisfy those goals.

Experience:
- Drum for various churches in the Minneapolis Metro area. Some small churches as well as some mega churches.
- Freelance musician for a few local city bands.
- Toured and drummed with pop artist, Shuree.
- Recorded drums for various artists in studios around Minneapolis.
- Have taught around 10 drum students over the past 5 years and seen much musical growth in many of them.

About Tesa
While obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at North Central University, I studied music performance for two years. Specializing in piano and vocals, I myself have been taking lessons for the past twenty years. I offer lessons for the beginner to intermediate level.

My time leading worship at River Valley Church has helped me grow as a musician and song writer, as well as given me experiences and opportunities to train other musicians to play in the larger concept of a band.

Students can expect lessons that are interesting and engaging, as well as challenging for their level. As someone with a degree in elementary education, working with students to develop a skill in music is something that I am very passionate about. I also believe I have the proper knowledge and experience to keep students and engaged and interacti
ve with the lesson material.

My strength is in developing the beginner piano student, teaching music theory and basic skills. Beyond that I am able to develop a musician to work with, and eventually lead a team of musicians.
