Dayton Performing Arts Lessons for Seniors

Sarah has been a professional actor in the Twin Cities since moving back from LA, where she worked as an actor and Commercial Casting Director for almost a decade. Sarah has taught acting classes for both on-stage and on-camera work to children and adults. Sarah is also a director and playwright mentor for the Chicago Avenue Project at the Pillsbury House Theater. She is also a crisis intervention trainer with the Department of Justice, where she trains officers in de-escalation techniques through high stakes improv scenarios. Sarah is a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor.

You can either a suggest a song that I will choreograph to or I will teach you a choreography. I will break down the choreography slowly without any pressure

Our voice is one of many ways to communicate, it is a gift and an amazing gift at that. Our voice can be used to communicate, interact, teach, tell a story, display how we feel, transport people’s hearts to another place or time; to name a few.
Being able to use your voice is one thing but to also be able to perform and have your audience receive you well takes skills and training. I will help you engage with your audience while you display your art through your voice.

They can expect to be pushed into an uncomfortable zone so that it may become their "comfort zone." Students can expect to become familiar or advanced within a specified style or genres.They can expect a variety of ways to experiment improvisation... This comes from your creative eye. My best way of feeding my creativity is by imagining not being able to speak. Then.... I focus on communicating through a visual aspect.
