My first lesson with Zach was great! 5 stars. He asked the right questions as to what aI am looking to do. And we quickly came up with a lesson plan that with the right amount of work in my part will get me headed in the right direction. Zach does a great job of making his students feel comfortable and good about their abilities.

As a voice teacher & performance coach, I work holistically to help you explore the accurate communication of emotions that comprise a sincere ability to relate a story to an audience. We explore character development along with delving into how the voice integrates physical responses to external stimuli. Working with acting skills can help us understand our relationship to others and our world in a different light. It's an excellent way to continue professional development in any field, as the ability to role-play helps you work with communication skills in a risk-free environment.

Improv acting helps you:

* Think on your feet
* Gain perspective on human behavior
* Deepen character development [current show or production]
* Roll with the changes in plot as dialogue changes
* Practice clear communication (perspicuity)
* Work with gestural communication & physical attributes

Arlys has a way of being her authentic self and making you feel comfortable and confident all at the same time. Right away she had some very insightful things to teach me on singing that I will remember to put into practice. Can't wait to go to my next lesson! Thanks Arlys!

Private Improv Acting Teacher

I pioneered a private Arts Academy drama school for 4 years, and am now teaching acting and directing at a middle and high school. My goal is to help students become well-rounded in all the areas that are needed to truly become a working actor. These areas include: auditioning, theater, film, and improvisation.

Being a repertory performer for Silver Star Playhouse (musical theater parodies), and having lots of experience and training in improv and interactive dinner theaters really trains you in comedy.
My husband also owns Sound waves Productions (technological advanced studio in Gilbert)- so completing remote voiceover work for a reel is not out of the question.

I also encourage students to pair in duos for effective scene work and more in-depth technique training (this will also split your lesson cost in half).

About Rebecca

Greetings! I am super excited to be building a private and small group lesson platform at our home studio and to meet your personal acting and performing needs! I recently stepped down from 2 years of full-time drama and visual art at Lumos Arts Academy- a private school I played a role in pionee

When it comes to Improv Acting, students will play tons of games to help develop the ability to improv quickly. We spend the majority of the time working on ways that students will be put into a scenario: stunt doubles, super hero's, occupations, family dynamics, animals, food, famous media and literature characters. We will focus on the extremes of these characters in the scenes. Students love to improv, as a way to develop confidence, stage presence, which will help with any type of acting. Improv is one of my many favorites with acting students. Always help students feel successful. Consider acting lessons and specifically improv acting as an option.

Mr. Andrew is kind, funny and engaging.

My son (6) always has the best time at lesson and wants to know immediately when he gets to go back.

Our son has a lot on his plate and watching him have something that's just his that he is happy to do and enjoys this has been such a bright spot for our whole family.

- and Mr. Andrew is in direct correlation to that.

I recommend Mr. Andrew to anyone who is looking for a teacher who is kind, funny, engaging, and wants to help you succeed and gives you opportunities to use the skills you have learned.

"I absolutely loved taking lessons from James. I was just coming off of a long break from acting when I found him, and I’m so thankful that I did. He gave me the confidence boost that I needed to push onward in my training. Since he has experience in the industry, he was able to tell me (truthfully) what I need to expect when my career takes off someday. That aside, we read through screenplays, did some accent work, improved a bit before every class, and talked about the power of positivity/confidence. I learned a little bit of everything from him. If you’re looking to get started on your path to an acting career, James is definitely your guy! He’ll do whatever he can to prepare you for your crazy journey through the industry."
