I have been teaching piano both in my home and for the Catholic School After School Programs in the area for over thirty years. I teach both beginning and intermediate students. I teach ages 7 to 75.
I use Michael Aaron Adult Piano Book 1, Michael Aaron Piano Coarse Grade 1, both Theory,Technic,Lessons, Performance Books. I also use Music Ace Deluxe for the computer which reviews everything I have taught in the lessons.
I tailor make the lessons as each student need it, and will go as fast or as slow as the student wants me too.
I am a patient, enthusiastic teacher in the following areas: piano, violin, cello, drums, music history, and music theory. I have taught vocal and instrumental music in both Catholic and Public schools, and in after-school programs, for 20 years, and have been giving private lessons for 9 years. I
Loquacious, but each moment of verbal conversation has a message that leads to the musical lessons of the day. I really appreciate her knowledge and skill. I am often reminiscent of my violin instructor as a child. Each session leaves me with the zeal to practice hard in eager preparation
for the next.
I have found that the attending student group to be extremely supportive to all other students especially to those experiencing performance anxiety. Repeating attendees (from all over the country) have formed lasting friendships among themselves which have endured for years. Eight week long sessions are given throughout the year. In addition there are summer sessions for school aged youth
and also 4 short week sessions for those wishing to try a sampling of the camp. This past January was my 3rd year attending the camp and I will be returning again next year. My experiences at the camp have been truly unforgettable. More information can be obtained at Sonatina.com

While attending Columbia College Chicago, they hired me as a Writing Consultant for 3 years. I enjoyed tutoring at their Writing Center providing help to individual Students with Free-writing, Brainstorming, various Essay styles, Thesis development, Word Usage, Grammar, Internet Research, Resume assistance and some ESL. Since then, I have written a self-published novel and a full-length screen play.
I believe that understanding and developing one's Writing Process is crucial for anyone at any age. It is remarkable how difficult it is for many people to write something as essential as a basic job resume. Reading Comprehension and Verbal Expression take time, but a well-developed Writing Process is often far more challenging. To acquire the knowledge and experience in order to "get your thoughts on paper" acquires specific techniques and an understanding of one's unique thought process. Thankfully, this is a very rewarding experience!

I have been a math tutor for elementary through middle school. I've also had the opportunity to talk to tutors and teachers, some more successful than others.
~Empathy. If you have been there, if you have struggled with that class, if you can understand what exactly about a particular problem / concept is tough, tell them. Despite the fact that on the outside, tutoring seems like an easy transfer of knowledge from one person to the other, it's also really emotional. Students are scared about their grades and their futures. they want someone to sit next to them and say, "I know how you feel, you can do this, you are going to be successful." Especially in math, where students come into a session assuming that because they "have always sucked at math," they will never get it. In many cases, math students struggle from these kinds of internal mental blocks more than the actual level of difficulty. I have many new angles of approaching a problem. Students come to tutoring because they ...
Throughout the years I've had obstacles in math but found new and different ways to make it easier and understandable. I've always loved to teach every since I was younger! I would pretend I'm a teacher and tutor my own siblings and friends. It made my passion in teacher grow, I always loved to see
