The reason people have "accents" is because they speak a foreign language using the grammatical and phoenetic rules of their native language. This is easily corrected and I am the one to show you how!
Are you ready to fall in love with your voice? Are you ready for something different? If your voice isn’t becoming to you, YOU should be coming to ME!
I know what it's like to be frustrated with boring exercises and processes that seem to take a lot of time but yield no results. That's why I decided to teach DIFFERENTLY!
I've invested a lot of time, energy, emotion and $$$ on big-name schools and "experts", only to be disappointed with what I was taught because a lot of the information or techniques they employed simply didn't apply to me or my goals.
Since 1997, I have perfected the K.I.S.S. methodology to improve sales, stage performance, professional advancement and overall quality of life. My effectiveness and willingness to guarantee my work sets me worlds apart from every other professional in my field. Furthermore,
I have been named "Top Producer" in EVERY sales and management position held and have won first place in every singing and speech competition EVER entered since 1991. However, with my accolades, I am humble, easy-going and take a light-hearted and humorous approach to my coaching sessions. At an early age, I was taught the importance of working "smart" and not "hard." Efficiency and effectiveness were the order of every day. As the daughter of a Master Herbalist/musician (mother) and bodybuilder/ musician/ policeman (father), wellness, discipline and the stage have always been the way of life. As a child, I was fascinated by my mother's stories of performing with members of Earth, Wind and Fire and other famous musicians and marveled at my father's accounts of being a friend and colleague of Sergio "The Myth" Oliva (3x Mr. Olympia). These experiences piqued a strong interest in stage performance and resulted in years of training in fine arts, fitness and linguistics. I was constantly reminded that the best performers in any field are "complete packages", meaning that they are well-rounded and adept in multiple facets of their chosen field. To become a complete package, I studied classical piano and vocal performance at Sherwood Conservatory of Music and VanderCook College of Music; martial arts (Hapkido) at Hyun's; Fashion Design and Merchandise Management at International Academy of Design & Technology; herbal medicine at The School of Natural Healing; acting and musical improvisation at ETA Theatre and The Second City; flag, rifle and sabre twirling with South Shore Drill Team and runway/print modeling at Barbizon and The Fashion Connection. I have also studied tap, liturgical, ballet, modern, salsa, ballroom and street dance; speech therapy; actively study psychology, anatomy and nutrition and am a NESTA-certified wellness coach.

After speaking to multiple tutoring companies, we discovered Matthew. Matthew was very professional and made my son feel comfortable. They had a total of 5 tutoring sessions covering Math, English, Science and Reading. My son took the ACT after his tutoring sessions and scored a 23. We were very pleased with the progress our son made by going from an ACT score of 19 to 23 after only 5 sessions with Matthew. I would highly recommend Matthew J. Horwich to anyone needing tutoring.

Matthew explained his approach to coaching and the plan so we were able to make an educated choice on the best tutor for our son. Matthew was responsive, organized and worked very well with our son. He communicated directly with our son and cc:ed me so that I was aware of the plan and f/u. His scores did improve on the SAT and we were pleased with the investment.

Matt has been awesome for my student. His math skills have improved greatly, and his writing has come from illegible to what can now be described as neat and readable. Matt has been very patient and deliberate with our son and has taken the time to really explain things to Jake in a way he can understand. We would recommend this tutor to any parent looking for a tutor for their grammar school student! Matt is also reliable and prompt and showed up when expected which was helpful with our very busy schedules.

Hoping to learn to reduce your accent and communicate more clearly and efficiently? I would love to help. I am a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and have 9 years of experience.
All ages and skill levels are welcome. Lessons will focus mostly on pronunciation and other areas of speech production. Learning the English language will not be the focus, but I will help to answer any vocabulary and grammar questions you have.
All lessons are individualized and tailored for each student's goals and preferences. The overarching goal of my accent modification lessons is for your speech to be better understood but not to completely eliminate your accent, as it is part of who you are.
I hope that I can help you reach your goals as quickly as possible. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
I am a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and have been practicing for over 8 years. I have a Master's degree in speech-language pathology, and my minor in college was American Sign Language (ASL).
I have spent much of the last 6 years doing online speech and language therapy with cyber school students. This experience has helped to develop my skills and familiarity with tele-therapy, which can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy.
In graduate school, I provided accent modification therapy with non-native English speakers who worked as graduate assistants and teachers. I also have substantial experience working with adults of all ages on speech and language skills (among others) in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics.
Practice makes progress. I will help to provide you with the skills you need to
improve your English pronunciation, rhythm and intonation, and overall speaking skills for increased clarity in conversations and work settings. I will also give you activities to do on your own. Your commitment to your goals during and outside of lessons will contribute in a large part to how much progress you make and how quickly you make it.
Just a little more about me: I enjoy traveling, reading, yoga, movies, animals, and being with my family. I also enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures and languages.
If you are interested in working with me, please send me a message. I hope to meet you soon!
Angie is a great teacher. She is warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring. She will customize the lesson to fit your needs, and often times, even go the extra mile of researching and providing any extra contents that can help you. She will pick up even the minute details and help you change. Of course change is not easy, but knowing is truly half the battle. Thank you Angie for making the class so enjoyable!

Zelda is a fantastic singing teacher. I felt a good vibe when I read her bio. I started out doing a half hour lessons and changed it to hour long lessons on the first lesson. She has helped me advance in my skills. She makes it relaxing, right off the bat, when you walk in and she offer's you tea. She is very patient and helpful. Are you speaking English but not being understood? Accent reduction will make all your hard work and English study worth it. I have 10 years teaching experience in ESL and a BA degree in American English Speech Language Pathology. I provide coaching in all areas of American English, including vowels, consonants, syllable/word stress, sentence intonation and tips for sounding fluent. I also offer coaching for specific pronunciation errors from many different languages. Send me a message and we'll create a personalized plan together.
Teaching English is my passion and accent reduction is the best part. I meet many students that work very hard to perfect their English only to be not understood when the time comes to communicate. I love being the one to give them the tools they need to deliver that perfect sentence during a job interview or final presentation.
I've traveled widely and studied Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. I know the joys and struggles of learning a second (or third) language, and use that experience to help my students. I graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI with a BA in Speech and Language Pathology (SLP) and also a BA in Chinese Language and Culture. As a BA SLP, I am qualified to coach accent reduction. I believe there is nothing wrong with having an accent, but I also believe you should be able to turn it on or off whenever you w
ant -- fluently. Just like an actor/actress learns an accent for a film, you can learn American English for your professional life.
I have four kids, all girls. I love to write fiction and poetry in my spare time and I also volunteer twice a week to teach English. I also love gardening, but I am not terribly good at it! People who meet me say, "Wow you have your hands full!" and I love to answer, "Yes! Full of good things!"
Practice and feedback on pronunciation. Guidance on how to produce the accurate sound, and fluency in order to be understood clearly. Improvement in oral presentation and communication.
While a student at Texas Woman's University, I also pursued my TEFL certification. A part of my requirement was student teaching or tutoring. I tutored international students Ghana, India, South Korea, Taiwan, and Mexico. As a teacher, I teach English online to students in China. When I was a student at TWU, I participated in the Education Abroad Program and studied German in Austria and Germany. My background in vocal training and linguistics gives me the skills and knowledge to help my students accomplish the American English oral, reading, and writing skills that they need to advance in school or career. I understand the needs of students to speak conversationally or professionally in the language of the country they are in. I love helping students to learn to speak clearly in order to succeed in oral presentations and to be understo
od in everyday communication. I enjoy seeing their faces light up when they accomplish a task or lesson by using what they studied and practiced with me.
"English is my second language. It’s not easy finding the right teacher. But I’m glad i’v Founded it. He’s a great teacher!"
Very astute. Goal directed teacher. He is patient, well versed with subject matter, good teaching skills."
"Wonderful teacher, helpful lessons, easy to follow technique."
"Among the accent reduction teachers that I had before, Erol is the only one who actually could find the problems in my accent! The program he uses is very
useful. The way he explains things or exaggerates the mistakes will help me to correct my accent. Overall, an awesome experience and I would totally recommend him to anyone."
"She is really good! :)"
"I'll start with that Gabriel is the best teacher I've ever had. He's kind, understanding, very patient and listen to your needs. He's technique is so easy
and playful that you barley feel like you're actually studying. I'm so grateful to have him in my life, he helps me a lot!!"
"After struggling to get rid of my accent for years, I finally decided that this isn't something I could do on my own and should work on it with an instruc
tor. I am glad that I found Gabriel. His lesson plan is very methodical so you know exactly which areas you need to work on. Gabriel is very attentive and strives for perfection in his lessons which makes him an excellent teacher."
"I had my first lesson and I am very excited to continue working with Steve on my accent. He was able to identify what are the issues I need to work on.
Steve is very knowledgeable and fun to work with! Thank you Steve!"
