I have played clarinet from the time I was a child in 6th grade. I played in concert band as well as marching band. One of my best memories of playing in high school was when our band played in the Orange Bowl Parade.

I teach all levels of clarinet. I use several different books including the rubank books, and a few just for clarinet. I also have many solo fun and classical books for students to use.

Hi! I have a Bachelors in Music Education and have started many students on their instruments. I have 3 children so I decided to give up regular teaching to be with them.
Hoping to give the love of “playing” an instrument to many others!

About Kim

Hello! I started my love of music at a young age with my family playing and singing at family functions. That turned into a wanting to learn how to play the flute and I went up through high school with that instrument. After high school I branched out more into vocal performance. After that I j

"I've been taking lessons with Michael for over a year now, and it is definitely a highlight of my week! Michael was curious as to why I wanted to play the clarinet and has subsequently brought me books with Klezmer, Classical Duets, Jazz and Tango music. I had taken classical lessons for many years, but I can honestly say that I progressed so much more with Michael. He is fun to work with, and always finds the places where I have progressed. He is very skilled at finding new challenges to explore and does so in a most supportive way. Can't recommend him highly enough!"

"I’ve played clarinet for over 30 years, and was a clarinet major in college. I started studying with Mr. Rappaport after I was out of college for several years and had moved to Atlanta, where Mr. Rappaport was playing in the Atlanta Symphony. I found him to be the best teacher I had ever studied with. His ability to help me understand the musical phrase, no matter what style of music I was working on, was amazing. I studied standard clarinet etudes, orchestral literature, and clarinet solo repertoire with Mr. Rappaport. He had the same mild, yet persistent approach with me on everything we worked on – always working to get me to play it to the best of my ability.
One thing I had always feared having to play some day was the opening solo to Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. A former teacher had been unable to help me with it. So, when a band I was playing with scheduled the piece and told me to get ready to play the solo, I was traumatized and contacted Mr. Rappaport for help. He worked with me and not only got me playing the opening glissando, but helped me to have a better understanding of the other jazzy spots in the piece. So now I can say I’ve performed that piece about 20 times, and the fear is gone! Thanks, Mr. Rappaport!
Regardless of your level of playing, I think you will find Mr. Rappaport to be an outstanding teacher!"

She is also a great teacher in that she guides her students through the learning experience and helps them perfect the skills that they will need to become better musicians. She works great with children, but also she is a fantastic teacher for older students, whether they be High School, College, or beyond!"

"Davis is a phenomenal teacher. Students who study with him always improve. They are typically 1st chair students in auditioned ensembles. He is kid-friendly and professional. He understands the developmental needs of students, both in and outside of music. David has also been extremely effective running woodwind sectionals at my school. His tips and techniques are beneficial to students and the ensemble."

"there are many clarinet players. Some are good, few can teach, and a minuscule amount are both. You have just found one of those few. This man has judged at international competitions, and has incredible patience and memory. He has studied under an understudy of the founder of the american school of thought for clarinetists, and always knows what you need to know, even if you are only in 8th grade.

This is the one.
