About Paul
Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. He works with piano, composition and vocal performance students of all levels and styles, which include classical, jazz, blues, Tango, and Broadway. Paul also works with all different types of students such as those who want to learn for personal enjoyment or for professional reasons. He prepares h
is students for competitions, audition preparation and professional concerts. Each year his students have the opportunity to perform at the world-renowned Steinway Hall in New York City. This yearly student recital gives students the opportunity to perform in one of New York City’s most sought after recital Halls located in midtown Manhattan. In July of 2014 Paul became a Steinway Educational partner. In 2008, Paul received a Masters Degree in piano performance from New York University. In 2006, he received a Bachelor Degree of Music from Stony Brook University.
As a Pianist, In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
 His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

Fawn is an amazing coach! I went to her originally 3yrs ago for song writing class and we ended up also working on my piano, voice, now I'm working on rapping. I've made friends for a lifetime and had experiences I otherwise wouldn't have had if I hadn't started taking lessons from her. She told me about opportunities I never would have known of and I've not only grown as a musician I've grown as a person as well. You won't regret choosing her as your new music teacher.

My son at aged 8 begged for piano lessons. I looked online and somehow I had enough good karma to find Fawn. I was tempted to go to like a “kids club” type of class because I thought he could do a trial first and then I could judge his commitment. But once he met Fawn, he was all in. I am sure people who know more about music than I would agree that he has technically progressed over the past several months. I mean he started from nothing and is playing and learning from Fawn and eager to pick things up on his own. But, I find you can get technical anywhere. What you can’t get anywhere is Fawn. (My son actually gets mad when I refer to Fawn as “his teacher” because he says she is so cool so I should call her Fawn! :) ) If I were to give an official review I would say my son has played lesson book songs, solo pieces, memorizing music, music theory, note spelling, reading about the great composers, taken several written tests to find out what he has retained and has advanced considerably in a short amount of time, etc. Fawn is classically trained and trained in jazz and tends to be fun around my son, yet tough about the rules. She approaches every lesson from the perspective of the student. My son always reminds me to write from the heart like I make him do. So I asked him, when I wanted to write a review, what should I say? He said, “Say Fawn loves music and she loves me.” So, long story long, very highly recommend.

Both of my children have been blessed to be learning from Nancy. My son started piano lessons this year and just loves it. He looks forward each week to seeing Nancy and loves the incentive she gives him! My son is highly motivated to practice every day. They really have fun together and my son feels challenged. Nancy is also accompanying my teenage daughter who is performing a solo piece soon in competition. They are having a great time and Nancy goes above and beyond what could ever be expected with her generous time and expertise. I cannot day enough good things.

David is a knowledgeable, prepared, timely and tech-savvy instructor. He uses a split screen on the video calls so that you can see his hand placement while conversing with him at the same time. I found this most helpful as a "true beginner" because I frequently needed to refer to his hand placement.

I was also fortunate that the time for our classes worked well for me, even though I am learning from overseas.

I look forward to continued lessons.

Personable, patient, good explanations of what he asked me to do. Readily picked up when I wasn't getting it and explained another way until I did. I am an adult learner with Parkinson's and his teaching style meshed with my limitations perfectly. I took to internet learning easily so it was a "win" for me.

I have played woodwinds for years, and plucked away at piano a little here and there. So, my education is pretty much a mishmosh. David was excellent at meeting me where I am in my education and planning out how to close the gaps in what I know as I progress forward. I've only had one lesson and learned quite a lot! About Andrew
Andrew started playing piano at the tender age of 3. His mom wanted him to spend his endless energy on something artistic so she started him on piano lessons. Very early on it was clear Andrew had a natural, unique ability to connect with the piano. He played in school bands throughout grade school and began performing around DC in high school. While Andrew also plays guitar, drums, and bass, the piano has remained his first love and primary instrument.

At the age of 17 Andrew left DC and started college at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. Andrew studied Jazz Piano but also led big bands, wrote and arranged music, produced and engineered. Shifting from Jazz to Rock in his early 20s, Andrew joined the band Ambulance LTD with which he played all over NYC and the US as well as internationally.

Upon ret
urning to New York from a hectic performance schedule, Andrew began assisting younger students at The New York Piano Academy—helping them to develop their playing skills, as well as their composing and arranging pursuits. The experience exposed his innate ability to build students’ talents through patience and encouragement, consistently taking them farther than they thought they could go. Andrew discovered his passion for teaching and began working with students of all ages, from 3 year-old children to seniors. As a teacher, Andrew focuses on making learning enjoyable while teaching all types of music—pop, rock, jazz, classical, and even Broadway. He tailors his programs to the students and teaches them not only how to play, but also how to hear, enjoy and love music.

Andrew is a gifted teacher and musician. I was beyond 50 when I started lessons with him, sure there was no way I could actually learn to play the piano. His patience, kindness and expertise overcame my fears and deficit of innate talent. I love his lessons and I enjoy practicing and I can actually play a few tunes!!! He is great at mixing things up - interweaving melodies and theory - and creatively finding new approaches to overcome obstacles.

My 7-year-old daughter had her first lesson today. Our goal was for her to enjoy it so that she would stick with it. When it was over, she told us she thought she had the best piano teacher ever, and she wished she had lessons every day. We couldn't be happier.

I am a composer and improviser with a masters degree from New York University, and will be starting a Doctorate in Music Composition and Theory from Michigan State University in the fall of 2018 where I will be teaching theory. I am an active composer who frequently composes music for various artists throughout the country. I have worked with artists throughout various musical spectrums including film, video games, and classical, but specialize in new music.

My 12 year old son has been taking voice lessons from Wesley for 3 years now, and I have to say that his voice has grown tremendously! From what I have observed, Wesley focuses on age-appropriate technique, and knows what repertoire to assign that is fun, yet challenging. I would recommend him to any potential voice student!

What can I say about Kalyse because there are not enough words to do so, however I will try and sum it up. Kalyse is truly gifted in many areas from acting to musical. Her acting skills are phenomenal and her voice is simply amazing on all levels. She is multitalented, innovative, assertive, and very caring. I would recommend anything on the spectrum for her.
