About Loretta
I have always been fascinated with how music is created and who works behind the scenes of performances and recordings. I started playing the flute in elementary school, piano in junior high school, and singing in high school. Once I got to UMASS, Dartmouth I chose the Music option for my major. I then moved on to NYU. I have been teaching for over ten years now. Working with students both in person and online has been amazing. With online lessons I am able to work with students who love the convenience of being at home and in person I can show students what it is like to really grow! I love my students of all ages, and can only hope to show others how amazing music can be. I have worked with a handful of students with special needs and am comfortable teaching in a non-traditional style. I am currently preparing to complete my certificat
ion in music therapy. Those who can do teach, and those who can teach totally do!

*** Lesson Details ***
You will set the pace for your lesson. I want you to enjoy your time in music, so your lessons will be completely customized. We will develop a goal plan for you so that our time together is interesting, fun, and we make progress! In 3-6 months, you will have a stable technical program and have started a portfolio of music for performances, no matter what level you are. We can share sheet music in person or online (I can even email you great links to amazing performances). Just let me know where you want to be in music, and we'll work together to make it happen. I can't wait to meet you!

*** Studio Equipment ***
First - YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN INSTRUMENT FOR PRACTICE AT HOME BEFORE BEGINNING LESSONS!!! Consistency is very important for learning, and weekly lessons ARE NOT enough for growth. My home studio is in a private music room. Parents can relax in our family space with coffee or tea and enjoy their children's learning at their leisure. My studio includes a 88-key keyboard, technology setup with an iMac, microphone and stand, a mirror for posture and musical instruments. I carry books for the lessons themselves (not for practice at home), and we can download or print out music as desired. If you take lessons online, I can email you links and sheet music as needed. Feel free to bring any additional equipment music you would like to share. I have some great recommendations for music books designed for both children and adult learners.

*** Specialties ***
jazz, contemporary, classical (instrumental), original, computer music composition

She works off of the students goals. She makes sure the student know WHY they are doing what they are doing. Also, and more importantly, she makes the process fun for everyday.

I've been playing violin since elementary school. I went to Eastern Michigan & played in the orchestra and I've attended summer music camps galore including Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and Interlochen. I traveled throughout Europe with Blue Lake & also played with their Alumni Orchestra. I've been teaching since 1990 and currently teach both in several studios as well as online.

As a teacher, I like to get to know your interests and goals for playing the violin so that we can structure lesson plans that will help you keep your interest and continually help you improve. Violin does take practice so it's important to play often at home in advance of lessons and you'll hear success! I use both Suzuki & Traditional methods in my teaching style.

I am a classically trained trumpet player that has build his studio of students at the middle/high school level in Arlington and Mansfield ISD, and I am the brass marching tech at Lamar high school. I received my bachelor's in music education from The University of North Texas and my master's in trumpet performance from The University of Texas at Arlington. I currently play in the Crossroads Christian Church band, have played in concerts with the Arlington Community Band, and am looking to play professionally in orchestras around the metroplex.

The biggest plus I give my students is fixing the technical issues in their playing so that it is possible for them to pursue the playing goals of their choice. Many players who are passionate about music simply cannot pursue their dream because they are hindered by severe problems in range
, tone, sight-reading, endurance, finger technique, musicality, etc. I myself was not the most naturally gifted player out there and I had to really consider how the instrument worked in order to progress. Today, those issues are not problem to me now. There are many fine trumpet players out there who are great musicians but ineffective teachers of fundamentals as they simply never experienced the kinds of problems in their playing that many students unfortunately have. As a student, I too had many teachers like this. They were wonderful people, but not very helpful.

To sum it up, I can show you how to fix the problems in your playing so that you can make the music you want to make.

With beginning students, I will lay out the fundamentals, teaching all of the scales, basic chords, key signatures and time signatures, and gradually integrate strategies for reading music. Depending on what the student is interested in learning, I will pull from my pool of repertoire - we could be studying a Bach Invention at the same time as a Billy Joel song. Classical music is great for technique and in many ways textbook for teaching harmony, but I play and love contemporary music, and will teach anything, as long as there is some form of musical knowledge to be gained from the material.

About James
Hi! I’m James, a drummer, composer and teacher based in Boston, MA. I gave my first drum lesson when I was 13 years old, and recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Drum Set Performance.

I began playing the drums when I was 10 years old, and was fortunate enough to find an incredible drum teacher a year later. He was kind, encouraging, and incredibly positive. This was quintessential in fostering my love for music and the drums, and I seek do the same for my students.

I love teaching the drums, but the most valuable skill I can teach is how to practice them. Teaching a student to practice in a way that guarantees results empowers them to learn anything they choose, musical or otherwise. Regularly pushing past musical boundaries sends positive ripples into the rest of life. This sounds like a
hefty promise, but its true: transcending your limits on a weekly basis will increase your self-efficacy.

I’m currently involved in 3 projects, ranging from jazz to prog-rock and metal. These projects are very specific, but I am comfortable teaching a wide range of styles. I typically start new students with rock and pop music, while also teaching exercises to build fundamental technique.

I prefer to travel to students for lessons, but am happy to do lessons via webcam or at my practice space in Brighton. I’ve found that students prefer to show me what they’ve been practicing on their own drums. In addition, this lets me teach them to set up and maintain their own instrument.

I look forward to hearing from you, and working with you or your kid! Please feel free to message me with any questions or inquiries. Thanks for reading.

Hello! My name is Monica Chen and I am the owner of Piano by Monica. Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to be a teacher. I never imagined I would own my own business teaching piano and voice, but it has been one of the greatest adventures.

I grew up taking piano and voice lessons and have been in choirs, on worship teams, and in musicals. I was born in North Carolina and grew up in Arizona. After high school, I moved to Colorado where I studied music at Colorado Christian University and graduated with a B.A. in Music.

In July of 2015, I started Piano by Monica in the Denver area. In just three short years, my studio grew to full capacity. Desiring to live in a small town, I moved my business to Pinedale, WY in February 2019. I am loving the small town life and all the wonderful children I have the privilege to teach.

Along
with running a business, teaching, and planning recitals, I enjoy adventuring in the great outdoors. Hiking, climbing, fly fishing, and exploring new places has become one of my favorite pastimes. I love cooking and baking as well as checking out coffee shops and bookstores wherever this adventurous life takes me.

About Peter "Oscar"
I grew up in Memphis, TN where I originally picked up traditional blues guitar, from there I moved to Austin, TX (the live music capital of the world) where I would play outside restaurants for donations to charity. For high school I attended The Putney School in southern VT, this is where I began playing other instruments and learning jazz guitar. I currently attend LA College of Music for Music Production and Recording. If interested I'd love to offer lessons in Music Production and Recording as well.

I have been playing guitar for 12 years and teaching private lessons for about 2 years now. When it comes to guitar lessons the styles I focus on are rock, blues, jazz, folk, metal, funk, and fusion. My personal favorite genres are funk and fusion.

I have an interesting array of guitars and when needed or interested, I'd love to bring a
spare for the client to use or experiment with. This includes an original Fender "Strat", a rare Ibanez "Baritone" guitar, a vintage 69' Harmony Rebel, an Ibanez acoustic, a red Washburn electric, and an electric Fender bass. I also have two compact combo amps to bring if needed. One is a Blackstar and the other is a Fender. On a side note many guitarists love to play around with pedals and effects. If this sort of thing is up your alley I'll have no problem in doing so.

I am currently the Music Teacher at Arts In Action Charter School in East LA. Over there I teach guitar, piano, and production to the elementary and middle school students.

One thing I love is watching a student try to achieve something that's been setting them back for a while and then finally seeing the moment they realize they've got it! Self realization is a huge part of learning the language of music.
