To give you an idea of my strong involvement in the deaf world, I am a graduate student of MA in ASL Teaching from Gallaudet University, the only university for the deaf in the world. I grew up at a residential school for the deaf with ASL as my primary language all my life. I have a deaf sister and I am a proud mother of two sons who are in the interpreting world. I worked as an advocate for the deaf to assure that the deaf individuals are treated equally for last 9 years. I hope to work with you on enriching your signing skills! 😊

About Susie

I am a graduate student of MASLED program at Gallaudet University. I am proud to say that the quote, "MASLED graduates is the ASL army” is mentioned by our Gallaudet University President, Bobbi this year. It reflects how we take our language, ASL seriously and protect ASL as our unique language.

Online American Sign Language Teacher

I have been an American Sign language Teacher for 7 years and I have worked with a diverse population of students and adults. I am very involved in the deaf community and I continue to attend various ASL educator conferences such as ASLTA and So Cal ASL Educator's Collaboration Conference, etc. to name a few of my most recent interactions. It is important for me to remain involved in the community because I always learn so much from other teachers' experiences and to expose myself to new technologies as tools/recourses for ASL. All of that combined helps to make me a better ASL Instructor. I have experience working at a private school, public school (high school), and community college. I have experience working in a one to one setting and in a whole group.
Also, I have worked with parents that have deaf children, but only speak Spanish. Good news! I know Spanish! I am able to teach you a secondary language - English and Sign Language or Sign Language and Spanish or ...

About Danielle

I have been an ASL Teacher for 7 years, I have experience working at a private school where I taught a one to one correspondence for three years. Most of those students had mental health diagnoses: anxiety, trauma (PTSD), dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, and or memory loss. I also have experience working at

Online American Sign Language Teacher

Embraced by the Deaf community in the state of Massachusetts over 10 years ago, I was submerged in the language and the culture during and after losing what was left of my hearing. I’ve never felt so much love and support in my life. It was quite touching. During the whole “losing my hearing” process, I quickly picked up American Sign Language and began teaching at TLC Deaf.

My family relocated to a different state and I began teaching homeschooled students ASL online via other video chat apps like FT, Skype, etc.

I had no idea that this (TakeLessons) existed and I’m not even sure how I stumbled across this app. I’ve been seeing various vocabulary signed differently compared to what I learned so I’ve been joining classes as well. Furthermore, I believe that there will always be something for you to learn no matter how skilled you are.

I noticed that there were no morning classes during the week and figured that I could share what I know with those who prefer morning classes.

About Brandy Q

I’m fun, innovative, interactive and insightful. I believe that I am skilled at meeting people where they are, understanding how they learn, and adjusting my style of teaching to match their needs. My classes are voice off, but I have many visual cues along with text that will help students underst

First lessons can be hard because you don't know what knowledge your new student is bringing. Brandy understood when we could speed up and when we needed to slow down. She is very friendly and relaxed. As a beginner, I highly recommend her!

Mrs. Williams is an awesome teacher. She is very patient and kind. I am not def and not very coordinated but I am actually learning and using what I learn, correctly, with my best friend who I recently reconnected with. Thanks Mrs. Williams for making this so much easier than I expected and working with me through my challenges!
