Dr. Spranza is one of the best piano teachers in the Bay Area. My two daughters take weekly lessons with her. She encourages them and empowers them to do their best. She teaches them both theory and practicals. They have participated in an informal recital and are now registered to take part in the MTAC Certificate of Merit program.

As parents, we see a big improvement in our daughters' piano playing skills. They even practice on their own, without us telling them to. All thanks to Dr. Spranza.

My philosophy is to help the students focus on their mental and physical states while practicing and performing. If both their body and mind are relaxed when playing, they will accomplish more and be happier with their performance!

I have been taking private flute lessons for over 12 years and have experienced many different teaching styles and philosophies. I recently began teaching my own private lessons a little over a year ago, and since then I have learned a lot about helping students progress quickly and efficiently.

Each lesson will begin with a duet so that I can evaluate the student's progress since their last lesson. We will then discuss their practicing and what the student believes is working for them and what they are struggling with. I can then address any issues or concerns that they have throughout the lesson.

Students will be asked to study technical and tonal exercises as well as repertoire. I will help the student choose pieces that are at a good level for ...

Let's talk about your goals soon!

About Dave
I started Sax Lessons San Diego last summer. SLSD is an excellent and affordable woodwinds studio in the east county where I can pass along the knowledge I’ve gained over years of playing sax and clarinet. I’ve been fortunate to perform with Darryl Johnson from the Neville Brothers, Wild Child’s Dave Madden, the legendary Robert Cowan from the Taj Mahal band, Chet Cannon’s Committee, Bobby Detroit, Blackcherry Lightning, the Shenanigans, and my own Texas blues-New Orleans funk band, The Goods. I’ve studied music with Nathan East, Hollis Gentry III, Carl Evans, and more.

It is that richness of experience that I bring to each and every student.

At Sax Lessons San Diego, I teach all levels of jazz, concert band, blues, soul, and rock. Individual and group. Centrally located in La Mesa, just a few minutes from SDSU, Lake Murray, or the
Stadium. Plenty of free parking. Parents are encouraged to sit in during lessons.

My own teaching experience includes post-secondary, SDSU’s College of Extended Studies, private lessons at two of San Diego’s largest music retailers, and facilitator of woodwind master classes at Grossmont and Valhalla High Schools. I am experienced with preschoolers to high school school-age children, nervous adult beginners, and special needs students.
