My goal as a teacher is to make students successful in their goals. I work with a variety of people; some of them study music for personal enjoyment and others for their musical career. Everyone responds differently to music, that is why I prepare special lessons for each student. It is important that my students enjoy what they are playing or singing and for that reason I have a variety of repertoire that they can choose from.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.

About Paul
Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. He works with piano, composition and vocal performance students of all levels and styles, which include classical, jazz, blues, Tango, and Broadway. In 2006, he received a Bachelor Degree of Music from Stony Brook University.
As a Pianist, In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
 His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

From a lot of experience with beginner piano students, both young and adults, I have been able to find a regimen of piano teaching that combines time efficiency with fun. While working with intermediate to advanced students, I have had coached them to apply and get accepted into some of the top Universities and Conservatories in the country. My students, beginner intermediate and advanced levels, have been awarded for their performances and activities in schools and competitions.
I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

My name is Milton Carl Jackson II and I teach vocal, guitar, piano, and musical theatre lessons in the Inland Empire area.

I help those young, middle-aged, and not-as-young tap into their own soul through music so that they may help others find theirs as well. I believe that in order to entertain others with your voice or your instrument, one must first be able to entertain oneself - all the while having fun doing it! As a recent graduate of the University of California, Davis with a double major in Music History & Ethnomusicology and African-American & African Studies; a former co-host of the popular hip-hop radio show ATF Radio: All Things Fresh on KDVS 90.3 FM; a former Music Director of The Afterglow of UC Davis; and a recent graduate of American University with a Master's of Education in Business Education

I have been in musicals from the time I was a child until the end of college. I have been in Annie, Gypsy, just to name a few. I love musicals so much, it is one of my favorite genres of music.

I teach all levels of musical theatre. I use a variety of books that are specifically for each level and each voice.

About Heather
I love teaching, simply love teaching! I teach students of all ages. I teach piano, voice, clarinet, and saxophone. I have taught for over 25 years. My students have lots of opportunities for performance, if they choose to. We perform at Nursing Homes, Retirements, Festival of Trees, and Seasonal Recitals. There are at least 2 recitals a year, 1 at Christmas and 1 in the Spring, if enough participation, we often have one in summer with a party afterward. We also participate in the Michigan Music Association competition. I have also had students perform in Disney World in Florida!!! I have been in many musicals such as Annie, Gypsy, Rock Around the Clock. I have put on solo recitals. I am a member of my church choir. My students and I have fun while we are learning music! It is the best job ever.

*** Lesson Details ***
I
use a variety of curriculum, which includes classical, broadway, some pop, new age, and jazz. After 3 to 6 months you will have a basic understanding of your instrument and will be ready to take off! I do ask students to keep track of your practicing so you can see your progress.

For piano:
I use the Alfred Basic Books for beginners and then we move to the Keith Snell books along with other supplemental books. If a student already is using a book, generally we will finish that book up so they won't have to purchase another set of books.

For Saxophone and Clarinet:
I use the Rubank books along with other supplemental books

For Voice:
I use the 24 Italian Songs and Arias, The Young Singer, and various Broadway books. Any pop music must be purchased by student as there is just way too much to chose from for me to have a lot of it.

*** Lesson Details ***
In a one hour lesson, we will spend twenty five minutes on vocal exercises designed to teach support and placement. Having performed leads on and Off Broadway, I know that without good technique you can't do eight shows a week, do back to back sets in a nightclub or cabaret or tour as a pop or rock singer. The second half of the lesson is spent on songs. As an acting as well as vocal coach, I focus on dramatics as well as musical interpretation. A singer must be connected to the words as well as the music. I hope to teach you to love singing as much as I do.

Mary is a lively, voluble person with enormous experience particularly in musical theater who enjoys working with students.
Initially and as the student moves along, Mary assesses talent and abilities and then continues to periodically reassess the learning in a manner that never ceases to amaze me. I have been working with Mary for six months and found her evaluations of my strengths and what I need to work on to be spot on every time.
What I esteem most is Mary's technical acumen, the techniques she learned from her teachers and mentors and her experience as a performer. Her keen ear and eye immediately pick out every nuance being sung that needs work. She answers questions about where "to go" in throat, mouth, tongue, torso, etc., demonstrating how to correctly produce the sounds, tones, and supported breathing in question. Voice teachers, of course, are supposed to do this. Mary does this superbly.
If you are seeking a teacher who knows her technique, especially in musical theater, I highly recommend Mary.

Hi Mary,
In my opinion, our session last night wasn't productive. My opinion is, you weren't really interested in teaching me. Out of the 60 minute session. I only did about 3 to 5 minutes of exercises. You spent 55 minutes talking about your past and present students, professional actors you know, show business, acting techniques and your accomplishments. You did talk about about the script that i would read and the emotion behind it, but that lead into more about your students and professional actors you know. it took you 30 minutes in your office to find that script, (which should have been done a head of time) then we went downstairs and another 25 minutes of talking before i could read it to you.

Towards the end when i finally spoke up about so much time being passed and nothing being done. You said you needed to see my personality so you can know where to start with me. That made no sense to me, how are you seeing my personality if you are the one mostly talking about your accomplishments and who you know and what you've done?
Why not pick a point and start there and see what my weak and strong points are? You also asked me the same questions you asked me on the phone, have you ever taken lessons before, why do you want to act, what do you do for work which to me just consumed more time.

What i found surprising and discouraging was when you asked me why would I take acting classes up here when there are some of the best acting schools in the world just an hour away in New York City? I wish you had said that to me over the phone before our meeting, I would reconsider taking lessons from you and just spend the extra money and go down to the city. If i were an instructor i would be grateful for anyone who sacrificed their time and money to come see me, and never ask why they chose me when there is better not that far away. With that said I have decided to cancel my remaining lessons with you please do not bill me any further.

The "Broadway Sound" has changed over time - from almost operetta-style classically trained voices (Rodgers & Hammerstein) to the classic broadway belt (Ethel Merman, Judy Garland, Liza Minelli) to the current vogue for rock/r&b styling (Mamma Mia, Hamilton) or "speech level" singing (Wicked, The Last Five Years). On the day of our first lesson, my son decided he did not want to take any singing or piano lessons after all. Since it was too late to cancel, and with the hopes he might change his mind, we went ahead with the lesson. Julia stayed professional, calm, and warm through the whole session, despite my son's lack of enthusiasm, and she tried everything to make him comfortable. She told him that the fear of singing in front of people is very normal, explained how lessons would work were he to continue, and gave a bunch of very helpful tips on singing AND piano in terms a 12 year old understands. Hopefully he will decide this is something he wants to do after all. Julia was obviously very knowledgeable, talented, and great with kids, and I hope we can continue lessons with her.

We are very happy with Julia's teaching of piano to our young daughter.
Julia deftly adapted her instruction to accommodate our daughter's interactivity level, and never over-praised, as modern psychology says is the correct way.
Our daughter practices spontaneously on her own, which can be at least partially attributed to Julia's teaching style.

Julia is very patient and kind and a good instructor. My daughter likes her a lot. A big plus for me is that she comes to our home and doesn't seem to mind that our piano is in our dark, dank basement! What more could you ask for?!

I have been teaching all levels of voice for over 15 years with emphases on Breathing, Posture, Vocal Production, Sight Singing, Diction using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), and Performance Techniques. I also teach fundamental piano with emphases on the Musical Alphabet, Hand Position and Finger Numbers, Rhythm in Music, Beginning Music Theory, Scales, and Performance Techniques. My purpose for teaching voice and piano is to fulfill the need for quality performing arts instruction. My goal is to train and assist artists in the development of their instruments through individual instruction, practice, and performance.

I am a professional singer, songwriter, voice and piano teacher, and guest soloist at the Historic First Congregational Church of Detroit. I have a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, where I studied voice with Robert Powell and Helen Laird, and I was mentored by Maestro Max Rudolph, conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, with whom I made my professional singing debut in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony as the lead soprano. I was awarded the Bertha Bauer Full Four-Year Scholarship and the John A. Hoffman Award for highest GPA in Voice. I won the Martha Baird Rockefeller Music Fund Award and the Jean Tennyson Music Award for outstanding accomplishments in music. I was guest soloist with the Washington National Symphony in Baltimore, the New York Youth Symphony, the
Rochester Symphony, and the Cincinnati Music Festival. I also represented the United States in the International Competitions in Montreal, and I was a finalist in the coveted Metropolitan Opera auditions in New York. I was contracted with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein (the German Opera on the Rhine Company), where I was the leading young dramatic soprano, and I toured with the company seven years.

I received my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Wayne State University College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts, where I performed various opera roles and studied Vocal Pedagogy. I was guest soprano with the Rackham Symphony Orchestra and Friends of the Opera in Dearborn, the Menc conference, and the Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor. I was also artistic director of the Arts Center Music School in Detroit where I taught all levels of voice and fundamental piano. One of my voice students is enrolled in a major music school in New York, another is a songwriter and recording artist in Detroit, and another recently auditioned and was accepted into the Mosaic Youth Theater in Detroit.

In addition to guest solo appearances, I currently have two works in progress, including, a monolog with my original composition, and a demo for a new CD featuring my original compositions.

I am a professional singer, actress, writer and producer hailing originally from the emerald isle of Ireland. I have performed internationally on various musical tours and shows (Grease, West Side Story, Chicago, Mario Lanza Anniversary Concerts, Normandy Nights, High School Musical, A Star is Born, Fame) gracing the renowned stages of my home country, Europe and the United States.

I am currently based in Los Angeles where I sings as lead vocalist for vintage jazz cabaret group The Beauties enjoying residencies in Beverly Hills and Hollywood as well as guest performances at some of the cities hottest events and locations (Sofitel, 424 Beverly Hills, WeHo Halloween Carnavale, French Tuesdays, Le Petit Paris, Andaz, Dirty Laundry, Spaghettini)

I am the current voice instructor of Barbizon, Hollywood teaching at LA Center Studios for
5+ years. I am also the head vocal coach for Hollywood Performers Academy at LA Center Studios, a K-12 program for gifted students working in the entertainment industry while simultaneously completing academic requirements.

In 2016 I founded the Prep Performs program at Prep Academy, a renowned after-school program in beautiful Hancock Park. Here I teach students age 6-18 in voice, acting, public speaking, personal development and debate.

Love Claire! I am a dancer by profession but was looking to learn to sing on the side. Claire has been wonderful! I have really enjoyed all of my lessons with her & am looking forward to continuing with singing! I would highly recommend. :)

Claire's the best! She's always upbeat and encouraging. She's great at explaining things and is super patient with a beginner like myself. You couldn't ask for a better teacher. Our sessions are always so fun and I'm sad when they end.

Classic singing technique and good performance skills are at the heart of what I teach. The best singers on Broadway develop a unique sound and style that requires both good singing technique and the ability to put feeling and emotion into your performance. Lessons start with exercises to improve breath control to support your voice and ear training to help you sing on key. Progressive vocal exercises will help you develop the quality of your voice and increase your range to make it easier to hit those high notes. You will also do exercises to improve your diction. Some children also have beautiful natural voices, but they are not ready for the kind of voice training that is appropriate for an adult. A child's voice is small in every sense of the word. The music chosen for them needs to be easy to sing and age-appropriate Songs that a child likes that are too high can easily be re-arranged in a different key so they can sing music that they like without straining their voice.

If you are considering voice lessons for you or your child, it is a good way to develop musicianship and build a repertoire of music that you will enjoy singing. The training will be enjoyable and very effective. You will begin to see an improvement in technique after the first lesson.

I was trained in voice performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music and hold a degree from Case Western Reserve University where in art and music theory. I have more than twenty years of professional experience including singing with a Chorale that performed with the Cleveland Symphony and performances as a soloist for choirs in Ohio and Michigan.

I founded and directed the Academie des Beaux-Arts, a performing arts school in Birmingham, and the Actors Alliance Theatre, a professional theater company that gave many young people an opportunity to gain experience working with professional actors.
