I have 20 years of music experience, and 15+ with guitar. My goal is to tailor my lessons towards your desires - whether that be to learn music theory fundamentals, or just be able to play your favorite songs. I'll organize our lessons to achieve whatever these goals are.
One of my top priorities in teaching music is to keep you from getting bored. My hope is that very early on, we'll start working on songs that you are interested in playing, even if we need to simplify them a bit to get started. I find that if you can play what you love early on, then your interest in working hard to improve will persist!
I am also available to teach mandolin lessons, in addition to guitar.

About Alexander

I'm excited to start working with students interested in exploring music and guitar (or mandolin!)! Nothing brings greater joy to me than music, so I hope to help others achieve that same experience of getting to recreate the music that you love, or perhaps create your own. I tailor my guitar lessons to each of my students so that they can improve their skills in areas that interest them the most whether that be acoustic, electric, blues, classical, jazz, or country. This teaching approach, combined with my extensive and diverse guitar style background fosters the most efficient path of growth for my students. Furthermore, I can offer to teach students how to both sing and play guitar as I studied both guitar and voice for over 7 years.

My qualifications:
I've studied the guitar for seven years focusing on sight reading, playing by ear, understanding chord structures, and music theory. I've played in a rock band in college, I played guitar in Kenyon's Jazz Strings ensemble, I've also performed in bars in Paris. Additionally, I'm always ready to learn new styles or help my students learn songs that they're interested to play.

About Jean-Louis

Jean-Louis is a multi-instrumentalist developed a deep passion for music at a young age and began to develop his skills in singing and guitar throughout high school. Jean-Louis has been working with my son for a few sessions. He has done a great job working with the type of music my son wants to work on as well as providing him useful feedback on improving his singing. He also helped him to work on a chord to play alongside his song. Highly recommend!

Jean-Louis immediately impressed me. He put my daughter at ease, but also pushed her to explore her range and technical skill on the very first lesson!

Hey there! I'm a multi-instrumentalist with a strong foundation in Guitar, Bass, and Drums.

My lessons are curated behind a few things:
-the understanding of music theory (scales, chord progressions, rhythmic structure, song composition etc.)
-student's requests to learn specific songs and creating original song
-having FUN!

Because in my experience, you're not learning if you're not enjoying what you're doing.

After 6 years, of playing drums, I began my time as a guitar player. I grew as a guitar player tremendously fast because of my understanding and practice of rhythm. I began as an acoustic/folk guitarist, progressed into a blues/funk guitarist, and now play mainly jazz and neo-soul. I also am accustomed to teach many other genres. I now write, produce, and perform my own music and stream online.

When you take lessons with me you can expect that the lessons will increase your music theory knowledge, finger/hand dexterity, rhythm, ear training, performance ...

About Kevin

I am a Multi-Instrumentalist who teaches Guitar, Drums, Bass, Music Production, Audio Engineering, Cinematography, Photography, and Video Editing. My instrumental experience includes 13 years of live performance, recording and songwriting. I focus my lessons around the understanding of music theo

Teaching music is truly one of my passions. Each lesson is personalized towards the students goals, while simultaneously building a solid musical foundation. Music is a great medium for self-expression, and it is in my best interest to help my students achieve their fullest potential as a guitarist and musician.

About Ryan

I began my musical training in Huntington Beach, California, guided by esteemed blues musician Walter Trout. Upon moving to New Jersey in 2010, I was gradually exposed to the New York metropolitan area jazz scene, becoming enamored with it. This passion led me to the New Jersey Performing Arts Cente

He really gets his students and their needs. I wasn't sure how virtual lessons would go for my young son, but honestly it has been awesome! I can't say enough good things about Ryan and his teaching style!

"Dave is very knowledgeable and will work with you in any genre or style of music. As an older student I felt totally comfortable with Dave from the very first notes struck. I would highly recommend Dave to anyone wishing to improve their guitar skills....but dont expect to be playing like Clapton immediately!
My only issue is the long drive from Vero Beach to his studio. Something to take into consideration."

"Ahmad has opened up the world of music to me. Before I started taking lessons with Ahmad, music was simply something I enjoyed listening to, but was a bit of an abstraction. I had always wanted to learn an instrument, specifically the guitar, but had suffered an injury to my finger when I was a teenager and thought there was little point in trying with a significant handicap. Now at middle age I decided to try anyway.

For two years I've been taking lessons with Ahmad every week or two and have found a lifelong hobby. Ahmad has been patient and understanding to my level of ability and has guided me to not only improve dramatically my level of playing, but also has taught me the basic fundamentals of music which makes me appreciate listening to and playing music more than I ever had. Ahmad is a gifted teacher who can quickly uncover and fix fundamental problems with technique and builds lesson plans to teach one how to play the guitar as a musical instrument.

I am so happy I found Ahmad. He has given me a lifelong passion to improve my playing and a deeper understanding of the music I've loved my entire life. If you've ever thought about learning the guitar, do yourself a favor and see Ahmad now."
